Yes, a Canadian can sue an American. No idea as to nationalities. Someone can sue on behalf of someone else if, for example, Aurini transfers his rights and interest in this endeavor to someone else. But then it gets complicated, and really not necessary. Small claims court is, I think, pretty easy to do. Just need to know where this person lives, and file in their local jurisdiction. The suit and service can all be done remotely. Aurini would have to make an appearance though, eventually.

Also doesnt small claims top out or limit at 5,000 dollars? If the amount is 8,000 I think that goes to a higher court. I'm not sure, someone correct me if I am wrong.

I have to say, I have been burned on a partnership before and would rather poke my eye with a spork than partner up with anyone again.

A partnership is just like a marriage and I didn't like being married either.

I think the best possible outcome would be to take the project and finish it yourself, Aurini. I would sever all ties immediately and just chalk it up to experience. He can put out what he wants and Aurini puts out what he does. It takes as long as it takes so don't sweat needing it done asap.

Hey Davis, If you follow up with this suggested course of action, good luck with that.

In my experience with small claims court though, IMO this shit is just not worth it. If you take it to court, you will expend a lot of time, money, energy, and mental exertion that WILL distract from and ultimately delay the primary goal you started with at the beginning of this partnership: completion of this film. IMHO, time is of the essence. Another few months and no one will remember GamerGate if something else major happens in these accursed-interesting times (...like say a US-UN war with Iran).

My $.02 here is to just be glad you found out his true character BEFORE you released the film and forever had your name permanently attached with him on this project.

Taking a two-faced snake to court is falling for the old "Never argue with an idiot, they'll just drag you down to their level, than beat you with experience."

As we say in Hawaiian, "cut the cord."

Don't get bogged down, mud wrestling with this turd in small claims court...just get on with it and finish the movie ASAP.

Understand me, I am not in the business of offering unsolicited advice. What advice I do offer is usually 'gentle' and full of caveats, since I can't know everything about the situation, and I've made plenty of mistakes myself (see this thread for an example of that).

But it's that first glimmer of communication - where they nod, admit that you might have a point, and even start employing some of your advice to immediate and riotous success - which makes you think they're actually interested in learning and bettering themselves.

Which of course they aren't. They take your advice and it works for them, but then they immediate start trying to find flaws with it. "What about my mother/favourite teacher/female friend? How does she fit your paradigm? Are you saying she's a slut?"

If I may make this comment: I think it was a mistake to keep hectoring the guy on 2/22 after (if I understand his "Alright - done" correctly) he agreed to take that absurd video down on 2/21. He is obviously a brittle and unstable type, and if your goal is to see the project to the end, these types need to be babied and coddled and handled with kid gloves until it's all done. It would have been best to suavely end the discussion about Roosh at that point (if he indeed took down the video) and just "agree to disagree" rather than keep hammering him with arguments, however just and righteous they might be.

All water under the bridge now, but if the goal is to learn something from it, then in addition to the need to choose one's partners wisely, I would add the need to handle them correctly once you're far enough into it that the goal is in sight. This dude needed to be babied and gentled for at least as long as he had a useful purpose to serve. One needs to pick one's spots to stand on principle, however much one burns with the desire to do so. Getting to the goal should be foremost in one's mind.

Kind of off-topic, but this is why I distanced myself from the Libertarian movement and its constituents. Despite the way that Rand wrote her characters, strong in physical presence and mental will, the majority of people who identify as Libertarians possess neither of these qualities as witnessed by this Jordan Owen guy. Stefan Molyneux and RockinMrE also come to mind.

I mean, Jesus Christ, he has the sex appeal of a school bus fire and the mental fortitude of a toddler. (as witnessed by his video and skype chat)

Christopher Cantwell - a politically active Libertarian who's making a real difference in the world (whether or not you full agree with his anarcho-capitalist policies) posted a video recently decrying the many faux-Libertarians in the movement. Ironically, I was listening to this right before Owen detonated things.





While I don't agree with all of their statements, I do have a lot of respect for Molyneaux and RockingMrE; I think they both have excellent content, and beyond personal foibles I'm unaware of any major hypocrisy.

It's very hard drawing the line, though; we are all imperfect men, but there's an asymptotic line which if people don't cross they're doomed to failure, and they're ultimately one of our enemies.

A four-year-project of mine just fell apart due a girl bailing on it last week out of laziness - basically, wanting the reward without the effort - and now I'm in a high-pressure scramble trying to keep it together and find a replacement. Since the girl I hired was supposed to be here 30 minutes ago to start recording, things aren't looking good.

Uncanny. This describes one of my friends to a T. One of my friends that I've grown more distant from since the red pill process. I mean, every single word of that paragraph; he's one of the wittiest and smartest guys I know, he's incredibly quick in conversation. He's also brilliant, physically fit, well travelled, and has a broad array of interests. I'd consider him a proper Renaissance man. I've always thought he was such a catch.

Doesn't sound like a True Gamma: he'd be uninterested in physical-fitness, and wouldn't actually be brilliant or witty, he'd just think he was. Same with women: if women are sexually-attracted to your friend, he's not a gamma, he just in an Alpha with bad game in blue pill denial.

A Gamma is the idea that he thinks himself to superior to society, but society (and women) are indifferent to his talent or genius, therefore, in his mind, society must be too stupid to recognise his genius. He's, therefore, not outcast by society but towering above it: basically every Onion AV Club commentator, male feminist and Video Games Journalist.

It's different to alpha arrogance, where we might think we're superior, but it's because other people readily-recognise our talent and achievements, and we're sexually-successful with women.

I spoke of my former best friend in this post: /thread-23288-...#pid933444 But your comments on Millennials and self-loathing helped me really see his gamma nature.

The first important thing he did is marry a twenty-something part-time cam girl / part-time legal prostitute because "he saw she had potential." He told her so. Let that sink in.

He told her he was marrying her because he saw that she had potential.

Can you imagine the degree of self-loathing required to marry a man who strongly implies, "Well, as you are right now, I wouldn't bother marrying. But if you marry me and follow my lead, you'll probably become worthy of the marital promise I'm currently making...."? I can't imagine it, but I'm sure it's massive.

Now if she were 100% committed to her self-loathing, she would do 100% of what he asks. He'd do whatever exercises he demands, whether physical, intellectual, emotional, social, or psycho-therapeutic. Her tacit motto would be, "I hate myself; change me!" But how is a Millennial woman ever going to be 100% committed to self-loathing when she's surrounded by Facebook likes and thirsty males? So, truthfully, she's only about 85% committed to her self-loathing.

But this means that she only "kinda-sorta" does 100% of what he asks. He's been asking her for years to go to therapy, (which she should do for her own sake), but she has only started five months ago. And she doesn't go to every session. And she doesn't make small, but meaningful changes to her life like exercising and keeping their house clean. In short, she drags out her obedience to him in a way that fools him into thinking he's making great progress.

The second most important thing is his belief that an invisible feminine spirit guide looks after his all-important decisions. His spirit guide knows all, and his major life goal is to channel "her" as strongly as possible. Now, if he were to channel "her" through music, I'd be totally cool with that because music/art are subjective, and no one will really care if you have to channel your spirit guide to produce it.

But he channels "her" in conversations with you, particularly when you're strongly holding an opinion that he dislikes, such as, "I don't know why you married the exact opposite of your ideal woman to craft her into your ideal woman, rather than marrying your ideal woman in the first place."

This post is getting a little long, but Vox Day had this to say about Gamma Males:

No wonder the Farmboy's Journey is so popular. It's basically psychological reinforcement for the Gamma mind. And, writers take note, the less the protagonist has to actually do, the more that his accomplishments revolve around his being rather than his deeds, the more popular it is likely to be with the Gamma crowd because it flatters their desire to lead, get the girl, and be the hero.

Contrast this with Frodo. He is the hero, but he leads nothing and he gets no girl. All he does is shatter the power of Mordor and save the People of the West. Conan is the hero, wins a crown, and gets numerous girls, but he does it all through his deeds; he is the opposite of Special, being frequently dismissed as a mere barbarian. Marcus Valerius is an aristocrat, but for him it is as much burden as benefit, and while his Valerian blood provides him with leadership of the House legion, it doesn't offer him anything more than the opportunity to fail.

If my former friend were successful through music, he'd be Alpha. But he's defined himself based on his successful marriage, which is dangerous not only because marital success is subjective but because you can carefully hide all evidence of your failure from others. I've lived in his house long enough to know how crazy his marriage is, but anyone else can judge his marriage by shallow appearances, which they both can easily maintain.

That his success is defined by an invisible feminine spirit guide is the crazy icing on the hyper-crazy cake: it is not the cake itself. (And I can't wait until she becomes the strong, independent woman he believes she can be, only to divorce him because he was "mean to her" during her "developmental stage". Either that, or she'll never become what he wants, but he'll pretend that she has.)
