Not meaning for the title to be clickbaitey, this thread will be about the following

1. What it was like as an experience
2. How it showed me a lot of girls could do porn
3. Don't be a male pornstar

As far as the experience goes, I live in Orange County and was paid to be an extra in the film. My lines were limited and I didn't have to do anything I didnt want to. I got to hang out at a baller fucking mansion (I guess it's the most filmed house in porn?), smoke, drink and eat their food, all while hanging out with naked women.

Some things were a bit jarring, like a fully nude girl with cum all over her face having a conversation, accidentally walking in on people fucking throughout the day, or acting like I was at a party where itt was normal for a girl to be getting railed on the couch nearby.

2. I got to hang out and talk with the girls all day, and they were surprisingly normal. Not cool, great or special, but not outwardly crazy. A lot were almost pretty, generally had something going for them, and looked good after an hour of hair/makeup. Many were from out of state and young.

I was 1 of 5 extras, 2 of the others were girls. The two girls had never done porn and said they didn't want to, however, by the time I left, both had done nudes and one has blown the homeowner. Mind you, they too were reasonably normal, had no prior experience, much like the other male extras.

3. Being a male porn star fucking blows. They have to fuck for hours. Sometimes with condoms, all while having a ton of people standing around. They're actually generally on par, or better looking than the girls, and most have a commanding, but friendly persona that could easily land them a girl at a bar. They get paid 150-450 a day, which really isn't great, and are usually responsible for hundreds of dollars of STD testing a month, and pay out the ass for fishes prescrips.

There was 7 girls, 4 guys and 3 male extra and 2 female. It was a pool party and during the party the actors went off and banged each other. The films plot revolved around a single cameraphone video taping everything, which I then stole at the end with another extra.

They just needed extras to give it more of a party vibe, there was supposed to be more but a few flaked. Some of the film crew stepped in to make it more realistic

I am sure there are some shoots going on for more "private" clientele, which means that the stuff never airs in public.

Being a male porn actor in a movie certainly sucks more than it's fun, but doing a very private shoot where it's either you and a female camera-woman is something else.

In any case - porn under certain circumstances is certainly more fun doing than watching. I probably will start a porn production company someday either in Russia, Czech Republic or Japan - does not even have to make money - I think it may be a fun job doing high-end porn for private non-public members.

1) If one were ever to go this route, there are a # of porn producers/sites where it's seemingly one guy with a camera. (ton of amateur sites, bj sites, casting couch sites). The advantage is that those same dudes end up fucking most of the same "actresses". Maybe the contract girls won't "stoop" to do a scene with guy w/a camera, but PLENTY seem to.

2) Back in the old days of RVF, there was a guy running a cam studio in South America. He fucked his chicks for free off camera, and they made money diddling themselves.

3) When PUA was bigger, one of those instructors associated with Mystery said he actually coached some male porn stars. They had no problem in the sack, all the confidence in the world, but meeting chicks outside of the business was hard for them, because the socialization scene is so fucked up in the jizz biz.

Heh - it's not my style to plaster my dick and asshole all across the internet forever. It is a good concept to be in the business and produce private shoots - albeit it's a bit closer to P4P for my taste for now as I can still attract women in their prime without those aids. However I am of the opinion that some male values like money & nationality - even IQ and education - is an embedded DHV point that even guys like Krauser cannot separate themselves from, so all those things just like looks and height play an issue and attract women.

A lot of this is speculation, but I imagine the male stars making the real money in adult film are the indie/solo guys who gather a good audience, and the big-name male stars who also direct/produce etc. The general run-of-the-mill swinging dicks certainly have day jobs and the films are just supplemental income. The end product you see of course looks nice, but I'm sure a lot of the backend on-set work probably ends up sucking like any job. I'd like if there was a real good documentary made about the work environment of male pornstars and the effect on their everyday life. There have been adult film documentaries, but to my knowledge nothing specifically about male stars' work life on and off set.

How is porn monetized these days? I mean it's hard to imagine people actually pay for access given how much free porn is available. Is it just ad revenue like anything else? I know even sites like xhamster have membership options that allow you to download the videos. The real money is in controlling the content, not in the acting.

The big porn companies have deals with the big "free" sights. You will notice that on Xvideo for instances the new and big Reality Kings and BangBros videos are not on the site. They scrub them in return for AD money from the njg sites. I have herd many of the big pau sites have bought the free sites and just control what content to block. Some videos have been wiped off completely from the net aside from torrents.

If 50 Million men pay the $1-4 daily to fee day fee that's some good revenue. We underestimate the demand and thurst, plus many men want the new videos, with the best, stars, at the HD quality. The only option for that is torrent or DL from the source.

There is probably only 20-50(max) high level porn starts who can bank off thier name. The big pay day for men is still only in gay porn. The top level male talent have branched out into side ventures. I believe Shane Diesel for instance owns Dogfart, another one owns WCP which are the biggest black and interracial porn sites. Rocco owns a site also in Europe.

People will still pay to see consistent, quality content. If for example a guy is infatuated with a particular porn star and she has her own membership page where she releases fresh content every week, guys will pay to have access to that. But like anything, it's Parato's principle at work. Most people in porn will make little money from it before they are washed up.

People will also pay for niche porn that may be hard to find. There's a lot of crazy sub-genres.

I honestly am not sure how there's a ton of money to be made in the industry (yesterdays video had roughly 10 porn stars, 5 extras, 5 camera guys, 2 set guys, a make up girl and the producer- plus lights, cameras and the fat check to rent the mansion, and food provided for the day). And that's just the filming, not counting the editting and people working on the distribution end.

I've heard a lot of porn stars burn out, and the only ones who really make it are the producers, coaches and camera men, but even then the job is unsteady. As far as being the guy with a camera doing it solo- it's just a matter of acquiring fans and the ability to distribute.

Most straight guys won't ever make a name for themselves in the porn industry because guys jerking it aren't going to pay for name brand dick. Period.

The girls were talking all about their crazy stalkers and how much they lie to their fans, from their hometown to their name to basically anything. They also complained about requests from fans (I'm not doing anal scenes until I want to!), and talked about guys requesting personal shots

Which I do think is why women can make money in porn- there's guys who like the idea of being a fan and funding women getting Fucked. Think of when a band says "Thank you so much for all your support, we wouldn't be here without you!", well, porn stars do the same thing, and it's completely true. These girls wouldn't be getting 3 docks in them at a time if there wasn't fans shelling out cash to see it

Due to the costs of STD testing/agency/social losses, it's better to cram as many videos as possible into the shortest amount of time, you have to do a few shoots a month to break even, 6-7 shoots a month to make it similar to the per hour of a good day job, and 14-21 shots a month to make it worth the public judgement.

One of the guys there yesterday had 3 hours of driving and 12 hours of work for 300 dollars... or 20/hr, minus gas, minus viagra, minus the the 300 a month STD testing, etc

Just out of curiosity what porn studio/company was shooting the porn, Brazers, Naughty America, etc.? Also were there any well known porn stars who were shooting that day?

Having been excessively wanking it porn for about a decade now, I'm surprised (probably shouldn't be) by how many girls come and go from the industry, some stick around for years like Jada Stevens or Phoenix Marie, but most shoot a bunch of videos for a year or two then quit the biz.

It seems like a lot of guys in porn have longer careers, at least the ones who "make it big", I'm thinking James Deen, Lex Steele, Manuel Ferrara, etc. I think whoever said the male pornstars making the real money are the directors and producers is right, I'm pretty sure Manuel Ferrara directs in addition to performing, and I'm sure James Deen's mainstream fame brings in a lot of cash.

That said your average new guy getting into porn probably makes jack shit, I heard it's $300-500 average per shoot, whereas the girls are making $1000-1500 per shoot. Most of these guys aren't doing it for the money though, that seems pretty obvious, they're doing it to fuck hot young chicks who they most likely would struggle to get or completely strike out with in real life.

As for the women, they are basically professional whores, so yes they are making all kinds of money outside the porn biz, from lame ass fans who they can milk for money/gifts, sugar daddies, then on top of that they can work the strip club scene, but most of them also are prostitutes that work the high end scene and charge clients $2,000 an hour to fuck or "shoot private videos." I remember once for shits and giggles was checking out cityvibe or erosguide which are basically sites where "escorts" advertise their "services", and I saw Katja Kassin which was one of my favorite pornstars back in the day, advertising "private shoots" for $2,000.

I think most chicks in porn who aren't shooting for really ghetto low quality sites are making bank, the ones who make a name for themselves and work for Brazers, BangBros, etc. The problem is these chicks are fucking as dumb as a sack of rocks, and most likely blow all their money on designer clothes, hand bags, and drugs. They have no concept of saving or managing their money and probably live self-destructive lifestyles.

OGNorcal, where are you from?

It was Los Scandalous Films, which I've never heard of, but I also don't watch porn. One of the guys seemed like he had been shooting for years, the rest had been around for 2-3. The girls were in their first year primarily. The set guys/cameramen had been around for 5-25 years. One was telling the story of a porn actor who broke his dick on set and had to be rushed to the hospital

Surprisingly, all the guys were doing it for the money and could easily pull way higher than the girls on set, with maybe one exception. A lot of the girls are butterfaces or have some defect, whereas the guys are commanding, smooth and are in the top 1% fitness wise.

I don't know how the girls spending habits were, it was unclear. But even at 1000 a shoot starting you would need to do more than 1 shoot a week to be okay here in LA
