RE: Black Mirror (Incredible TV Show)
Finished up the series on Netflix last night. I liked the last episode with the AI mechanical bees getting hacked. With good science fiction you don't have to go overboard with your suspension of disbelief.

With the coming of self driving cars and trucks, I wonder in the future if we will have an incidence of hackers doing something like this:

This show is great. I guess I'm late to the Black Mirror party but I find the show to be very red pill. The episode called "Shut up and dance" is my favorite, with a great twist at the end. I'm not usually one to talk about how "You've gotta watch this show!" but this one is great.

RE: Black Mirror (Incredible TV Show)
"The Entire History of You" is apparently real:

https://www.cnet.com/news/sony-patents-c...t-you-see/

"Sony patents contact lens that records what you see

Sony has been awarded a patent for a smart contact lens that would be capable of recording video.

Other smart contact lenses are focused on improving vision or providing an augmented reality HUD, but Sony wants to look outwards rather than in. A new patent, awarded to the company in April, describes a contact lens that can be controlled by the user's deliberate blinks, recording video on request.

Sensors embedded in the lens are able to detect the difference between voluntary and involuntary blinks. The image capture and storage technology would all be embedded in the lens around the iris, and piezoelectric sensors would convert the movements of the eye into energy to power the lens."

RE: Black Mirror (Incredible TV Show)
Last year, in fact, I watched this show on recommendation of this very thread. I did not report back. But I will now.

I got about one or two episodes through the first series, then was barely able to fast forward through the rest of it.

I don't think I even fast forwarded through to the last of season two, such was my extreme distaste.

I've always disliked Charlie Brooker, seeing him as a Lefty hack, but I wouldn't let that dissuade me from giving this series a fair dinkum shot between the posts.

I found the writing juvenile, from the small-piece dialog gluing it together, to the larger super-structure overview of its ridiculous premises. They even had the Prime Minister of England head-fucking a god-damn pig's head in one episode. I shit you not. Who thought that one up eh, lads? It's not like it didn't already happen. Art imitates life. Sad!

Oh, and the acting was particularly bad too.

I think you would need some kind of psychological condition or disorder to be able to sit through even one episode of this overly hairy muff pie of a tax-funded disaster. I don't know if it was tax-funded or not. But I bet it was.

I could probably go for a beer with anyone who liked this shit, but I would never be able to understand them.

"Vikings" however, is another matter. For another thread. And that's a very sad thing too!

This is a respectable POV. I do think the show can be great at times, but this is compared to the general quality of entertainment today. Yeah the dialogue isn't always great, and the acting can be mediocre. And the leftist themes sometimes stick out. But overall I still think it's solid.

If I'm not mistaken, I think that episode was released before it came out that David Cameron fucked a pig.

EDIT: Yeah, It looks like that episode premiered in 2011, and the story about David Cameron came out in 2015

I watched the episode on social media, and I really liked it. Then I found out that the series are just a bunch of stand alone episodes. No continuity whatsoever. I stopped after that one episode.
I wondered what happened after.

In that episode, there's a part where they show comments from a Youtube video, where one of them read:

"PM gon fuck a pig LOL"

Did you watch it all or fast forward?

If you didn't watch episodes in their entirety (or pay attention for that matter) then your opinion is not well informed.

Charlie Brooker is a lefty hack, but at least he's least he's semi-redpilled when it comes to media propaganda and control methods.

Not to mention, he's amazingly talented, so it'd be a shame to miss out on his work and commentary. I could boycott Meryl Strept and nothing of value would be lost, but Brooker is one of the funniest and creative men in the business.

Ok, that was funny! Reminds me of world of tanks battle aftermath 3 days ago. Dude has been wishing me cancer for half an hour after battle because he died and we lost a battle. Apparently since I was a 3rd in statistic and he 1st that made me have all fault of losing the game, doesn't matter that he died like a last bitch. Fun times!

Yes, it was really voice of Aaron Paul at the end which is interesting because both he and Jesse Plemons starred together in Breaking Bad.

Some of the new eps are fucking great. Metalhead is a frighteningly plausible apocalypse.

I really enjoyed the first episode of the new season. The second one Arkangel I thought was pretty average, just over protective helicopter parenting taken to the extreme. Haven't watched the rest yet.

I'm definitely looking forward to Metalhead as I love the post apocalyptic genre.

Agree with Metalhead. Episode 4 was pretty decent as well. Overall a great season except episode 2.

I would be more satisfied with Metalhead if we got a bit of a backstory. My top episodes are Black Museum and Hang the DJ. Hang the DJ had very fresh and interesting approach to dating.
I would say more what I liked but I would probably spoil to others who haven't watched.

USS Callister was incredibly well-done. Period. Could've expanded into a feature-length film with a few small tweaks.

Arkangel was an interesting concept, but kind of hit everyone on the nose when it could've taken a different tack.

Watching the rest now...
