In LA being a Talent Acquisition Specialist for Sony is more important than being a Special Assistant at the World Bank. In DC it is reversed. In New York it’s all about high finance—Ibankers and traders. In Vegas, it’s about…being a host at a club or being a good gambler. I have nothing of value—or no social currency-- to offer the women here.

In DC I always had dates with attractive foreign women and cute State Dept maidens; in Vegas the strippers have stood me up more times than I can count. I still get 9s 2x ayear—check out my FB if you want bonafides—but they are $350 a date girls and I am literally spending all my cash each month. Not hookers, but dinner on the strip with wine is 225 and the shows are about 120 for two tickets. Stupid.
Admittedly, I have limited game. I am sociable but sterile and at times my arrogance is palpable. My game was based upon my status that was discernable from my speech, clothes, and mannerisms. In Vegas they don’t respect a straight arrow like me. I thought that rolling around in Porsche would get me laid but it doesn’t.

In Europe and in the UAE I had model quality (and decent) women coming out of my ears. In Vegas I am getting fatties, flakes, and women who want a man to pay their rent.

Im not saying to jump in to high stakes no limit, but do it as a hobby and see if he has any natural ability or interest. In low dollar formats it's not more expensive then any other hobby and its a good way to meet people. Assume you'll loose ever dollar you bet. I blow $30 a week at the pool hall but I meet a lot of new people and have a good time. Also poker is a good way to practice keeping your emotions under control.

Financial acumen and book smarts are not always correlated. In fact, it's about 50/50. I like nice things...what's credit vard debt when I can take a gig in Kabul for three months and come back with 60k)

A typical date would be a black tie charity event--where in vegas nobody knows that this requires a tux-- or dinner at STK at the Cosmo. Followed by drinks and then a comped bottle at XS, Marquee, or whatever other industry night is poppin.
