Yep. Even in hardcore racing sims there are just too many idiots in public lobbies, and I've never quite been dedicated enough to get involved with sim racing groups and arranged races.
Unless you count iRacing a number of years ago, which is saved from idiots by both being a fairly expensive subscription service, pre-scheduled races and having an automated system that penalizes you for bad driving behavior and requires you to have a certain clean driving level to be allowed to participate in more advanced driving series.

Project Cars 2 and Gran Turismo Sport will supposedly both implement some aspects of the latter system, hopefully with very positive effects on online racing.

It's far from perfect and it's too aggressive (still less so than most people racing online), but at least it makes you feel like you're racing rather than going up against oblivious dummies on rails (Gran Turismo) or AI that's aware of your presence but too timid to try overtaking you (Assetto Corsa in it's current state on consoles, I hear AI is a bit further ahead in the latest updates on the PC version).

On the surface of it it seems like many arcade racers actually have significantly more engaging AI, but the rules there are obviously a lot simpler than in racing sims in most cases, and even more aggression allowed and encouraged.

RE: Video games
There is a Czech RPG game forthcoming on all platforms that should interest a lot of us here, especially the history buffs.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

About two years ago I backed the game on Kickstarter and have been waiting for it to mature before painting it here as the next big thing.

Today they released a story trailer and announced the release date of 13th February 2018. It's a big jump from previous footage and I'm sure you will agree it looks stunning. Hopefully this apparent quality level will be delivered throughout the game.

Here's why we should be interested:

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a story driven rpg with a plot that revolves around Medieval warfare and masculine virtues.
The setting is 15th century Bohemia and is probably the most accurate historical recreation of an a previous era ever realised in a game.
The combat is obsessively authentic with all weapons, armor layers and combat from the era meticulously modelled.
This includes accurate damage calculation and impediments from layered armor and under clothing.
The game world using the latest Cryengine is the most high fidelity and realistic ever seen in an RPG. The forests for example truly are believable dense forests.
The dev founder and game creative director Daniel Vavra is a Gamergate supporting masculine shitlord of the highest order. SJW's tried to create a controversy about the lack of POC and he told them to shove it.
The acting appears to be of a very high standard and features none other than......

Brian Blessed!!!

F1 games by Codemasters have the only decent AI I've seen in modern games. Leaps ahead of Project CARS, Assetto Corsa, Forza and others.

Most important, Deliverance offers realistic historical combat experience. I like proper designed weapons and armor and its correct implementation in any kind of media, either video games or TV/movies. For example, even though I haven't been able to play Witcher 3, I fully endorse its realistic swords, which are unlike hunks of steel Elder Scrolls serial offers. They inspired my current sword projects.

RE: Video games
Agree to disagree on PC AI. They'll cede a position if you get the better of them on a turn. You can actually race side to side with them down a straight and they'll change their racing line. If you take the inside line when a fast car is coming up behind you, they won't try to overtake.

This last point is key. If you see them coming up fast on your mirrors before a turn, if you don't take the inside line they'll try to force it. Assume a defensive position and you'll be ok. If I lose a position it's usually because I made a mistake due to the tension of having headlights on my mirrors rather than overly-aggressive AI.

I think I agree (that they have the best, not the only decent AI), but I've only played two of the Codemasters F1 games briefly (including 2016 with a wheel).
Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of open wheelers in racing games, I mostly prefer GT cars and road legal sports and supercars. And rally now and then - I have Dirt 4 loaded up and in championship right now.

RE: Video games
I've been playing Grand Theft Auto Vice City to get 100% and it's got some good moments in that story as well as the VCPR talk station. Ray Liotta does well as the first GTA main character that talks especially with what he says after getting a briefing for a mission.

The Friday the 13th game is not bad, but it's buggy as well as well as some technical issues. You only get to play as Jason once every 12 games and if you don't know what you're doing, you'll be dead as a counselor quick or not kill any counselors as Jason. There's been a bit of an issue with exclusive DLC offered to people who backed the game on Backerkit. Basically, it's a version of Jason made from famous makeup artist Tom Savini that was given to backers who backed the game on Backerkit and Kickstarter. The company, Gun Media, won't give it to people and it wound up on the PSN store by accident.

Kingdom Come Deliverance has the possibility of being a landmark title for videogames. In that it may be a title that could bring forth a deluge of masculine videogames into the market, if its successful. At the very least I expect it to trigger all the right people with some of the story path's it takes. It is about medieval patriarchal Christian Europe after all. That alone is enough to melt the globohomos brains.

I've been meaning to start playing Darkest Dungeon. I have it on Steam (even my lowly laptop can run it) but never got around to play more than an hour or two. I've been eyeing the PS4 version as well.

It's terrible knowing that the incredible potential of the source material will likely be blown on a low grade production.

GOT costs around 10 millions per episode, most of the cost is cast salaries, CGI and the different location the have to shoot, they have to limits the CGI a lot, the dragons are expensive to make which is why they limit their scenes a lot.

A series about Witcher will cost a lot with the CGI it demands.

RE: Video games
Everyone on this forum, keep a look out for this one.

"The Last Night"

Just revealed at XBOX Live E3 Conference.

A game set in a dystopian Blade Runner esque future where modern feminism won and is in control. A tweet from the game's creator Tim Soret, explaining the game.

"Our game The Last Night will take place in a cyberpunk world where modern feminism won instead of egalitarianism. #gamergate #notyourshield"

Tweet was dated last September but was taken down due to pressure from his benefactors. Probably to maximize sales.

Nonetheless guys, we got something coming our way that's a rarity in modern entertainment. Support stuff like this by preordering this title. It shouldn't be hard, the game looks spectacular as well.

The totalitarians over at Marxist Neogaf which is the largest gaming forum on the internet are actively trying to boycott the game, get Tim to soften the games story and trying to make distributers like Microsoft run away from the title. At the very least, check out the trailer and like it on youtube, throw a message of support out to Tim as well if you can.

RE: Video games
I watched the XBox E3 press conference last night. Scorpio - now officially named XBox One X - sounds like very impressive hardware and will certainly be a good deal faster than the PS4 Pro, but the press conference was a snooze fest with only very few games that looked more or less compelling to me.
One was Forza 7, but if Project Cars 2 delivers on its promises (I don't care that it will have less than 200 cars instead of 700) I doubt I'll feel like I'm missing out by not having an XBox. Another was Metro Exodus, but it's multi-platform, and the third was Anthem from the Bioware main team, which looks more like a hugely visually impressive Destiny-like open world co-op loot based action game than an RPG, which is fine with me. And it's also multi platform so also coming to PS4.
Assassin's Creed Origins looks like like Assassin's Creed in ancient Egypt. Which is what it is so I guess that's fine. I think I've lost interest in this series as the last one I could be arsed to play for more than a few hours was Black Flag, and I still didn't even get anywhere near to finishing it.

The Xbox press conference was a snooze, only got a kick out of Crackdown 3 and Original Xbox games. Best believe, I'll be snatching ankles in NBA Street Vol. 2 once again.

The best stuff so far was from the EA press conference. Battlefront 2 looks dope, got a fetish for war games made with Frostbite. Still hurt over another female protagonist, but I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't suck the pink out her pussy though.

Dame near beat my meat to the teaser for In the Name of the Tsar. Battlefield 1 has kept my attention since release. Don't know how they plan to balance a bunch of bald bitches; from what I've heard, the female frame can be much harder to land shots on in FPS games.

I had more fun with Battlefront than with Battlefield 1 so I'm quite looking forward to Battlefront 2. I don't care too much about the single player campaign but it's a nice addition and seemingly something a whole lot of people asked for.
