I know you were looking for something uplifting regarding more people seeing the light, but alas, I must disappoint you. Fat Shaming made the New York Times Opinion Blog this afternoon and was picked up on Drudge Report.

It looks like people are finally catching on and I think this is a good thing. I think it will start a separation of those who give a damn and those who could give a fuck. Naturally this will benefit men more than it will benefit women. The cold hard reality of all the stories I've seen today (there's been many covered on the forum already) is astounding. They're all filled with appeasement and understanding as opposed to seeing the situation through the varying goggles that it could i.e. evolutionary (men prefer thinner in shape women as indication of the quality of her genes for child bearing purposes), aesthetic (men prefer thin in-shape women because they look better in pictures, on film, in person), sexual (men prefer thin in-shape women because they are generally more fun and aesthetically pleasing to see while fucking. Fat chicks may "try harder", but they're still fat and you have to watch them try).

Any one of these lenses are logical answers to why guys who have their shit together or are putting in the time and energy to get there don't like fatties (women and men alike) who could put the time and effort in but don't. At the end of the day, it comes down to women and fat women in this case wanting what they can't have and trying to make their not having it a crime against society (watch, that will become a new criminal category soon enough).

Seriously, this is the one of the big problems facing us today. Economically, health-wise and in general society. Whilst you Americans are being pushed towards this, us Brits actually have to pay for the problems fat fucks inflict on themselves. I don't mind putting into the pot for my country's basic and necessary healthcare (which is a human right), but paying for these fat fucks is just unfair. Humans are animals. In the wild, a weak animal would get eaten or killed by a competitor. I'm not saying that's what our society should be like, but at least people could have this in mind.

Makes me frustrated too @britchard. Canada pays for lots of seriously obese people to get diabetes medication, surgeries etc... In BC we already have the health care ministry absorbing 60% of the bugdet.

This means we actually have a Health Care Ministry that happens to be a government.

One of my old favorites growing up, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, had fat shaming in pretty much every episode. Most of it centered around Uncle Phil of course (RIP), but quite a few episodes had Will trying to get out of dating fatties (although in one of them he wound up liking the said fatty).

Still, if some of the stuff was airing today, the SJWs would be all over it.

As for the article, most of it is just the usual bitching about twatter, but this struck me the most:

Gist of article: man is suing an airline for allowing a fat passenger to cause him extreme discomfort and personal injury. The plaintiff claims that having had to sit next to a fat monstrosity caused him to contort his body in unusual positions.

Why is this case important? It may signal a new legal theory that can be used to force people to lose weight.

Companies might be held liable for permitting fat people to create, by their presence, dangerous conditions on their premises.

In other words, obesity might be seen as a "dangerous nuisance" to non-fat people.

Seriously, the show is 25+ years old and you would NEVER see this on TV today. Yes, we have HBO and other services that provide "adult" content - but this is far too un-pc for today.
