Great list. But let's not forget the worst side-effect of obesity of all: cancer. A link was established almost a decade ago. Here is where it's spelled out on the cancer.gov page, but here is the money quote:

Gist of article: man is suing an airline for allowing a fat passenger to cause him extreme discomfort and personal injury. The plaintiff claims that having had to sit next to a fat monstrosity caused him to contort his body in unusual positions.

Why is this case important? It may signal a new legal theory that can be used to force people to lose weight.

Companies might be held liable for permitting fat people to create, by their presence, dangerous conditions on their premises.

In other words, obesity might be seen as a "dangerous nuisance" to non-fat people.

The gravity of that kind of case might make . . . WAVES
