I do like the DGAF attitude though. If someone doesn't like it, no one really gets offended (gonna exclude Bay area SJW's here lol). Other parts of the US not liking it can be dangerous. Anyone can use EBT at most fast food places. Most places, it would be pandemonium. CA, let's read rising signs or goto the beach. Very different culture from the rest of the US.

People think that the SF & LA represent ALL of California, outside of those places and Silicon Valley there are red counties and alot of red.

Just because this state votes blue during elections doesn't mean there isn't a strong undercurrent of resentment.

I even see liberals getting angrier and angrier about raising housing prices, another gas tax increase, registration going up, car insurance going up, and more tax measures being implemented.

When you fuck with peoples money and their way of living - that's the ultimate redpill for middle class liberals.

We're talking about averages here. The average person is having a harder time than ever trying to live in this state. Trump or anyone else can afford to hire an army full of lawyers and accounts to reduce their tax bill. The middle-class Californian can not, and those are the ones that once you reach a critical mass exodus, things will really accelerate. How much can the average person really take before they pack up and move elsewhere? I have half a dozen friends right now looking at other states. They are upper-middle class people and middle-class who will take many tax dollars with them. That's my point. I foresee further tax revenue leaving in the form of citizens who have breaking points.

I have a CPA certification so my skills are very transportable. This new tax reform will make living in coastal cities unattainable for 99% of US population. That $10,000 limit is not limited to your property taxes. It includes all state and local taxes paid during the year.

California has the highest capital gain tax rate in the world combined with the federal rate (about 50%) and one of the highest income taxes among the states. If you own a $800k home, which is about the average in LA County, your property tax payments alone will exceed this $10,000 limit. The state income, excise, sales, and capital gain taxes will be excluded. For someone earning $100k, they pay at least $10k in state income tax which CANNOT be claimed as an itemized deduction on their Schedule A as a result of new limitation. So, this makes the effective tax rate about 40-45% not counting sales, gas, excise, and capital gain taxes.

Orange County and San Diego used to be Republican bastions. They aren't anymore. Even places like San Bernardino and desert cities are mostly liberal leaning. Due to increase in housing costs, many people move from coastal regions into neighboring counties. People think that San Francisco and West Hollywood are the most gay-friendly cities in the world. I checked out the election results and San Diego and the counties surrounding LA (Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside) aren't as nutty as I thought they were. Still majority blue but at least it's more reasonable.

LA and pretty much all of the Bay Area are full of retards.
