Let's take NYC for example.

375,000 black men unemployed. Essentially 1 in 4.
535,000 illegal immigrants currently working under the table.

The town where I grew up had a black population and their street gangs ran the drug trade. Mexicans showed up in the 1990s and by being better organized, braver, and better shots... crushed the black street gangs and banged the shit out of their women. Every week it was a funeral for some black teen gunned down, while the police just looked on. Today there are zero black people in that neighborhood. I don't know where they went... probably LA.

I will be honest though. The Mexican Mafia keeps to themselves. Crime is way down. That neighborhood used to be a shithole, but now it's generally safe and nice.

I have spent a lot of time in California, north and south. Living, working, have multi-generation Californian family. I started going in the early 90's in LA.

West LA will resemble San Francisco/Pac Heights in another 20 years; inaccessible, obnoxious and gated/manicured.

Venice is over, its Google/Facebook/Snapchat, restaurants are ridiculously priced, the character and vibe of the beach is gone, people are moving out, boring white people moving in. Surprisingly people are still getting attacked on the streets, despite the richest companies in the world, the LAPD seems to not be able to stop street crime. Its become San Francisco.

I was just out in Las Vegas, and I love it there. I would live there. Its beautiful, good weather, economy, and doesn't seem to have the same constricting vibe like SF, that now permeates LA.

Cali needs another Reagan, by the grace of God. Arnold, for all his action films, lacked a backbone. The fact Jerry Brown runs the state again shows how regressive the Left actually is.

Other than that this place is fucking fantastic. The first year here was rough but my quality of life and net worth has exploded here. I do think over time this place will resembled L.A. more and more but for the time being it's all good. Clark County is hardcore blue, which is ironic because there's a huge population here that's into guns, MMA, exercise, off-roading, partying...otherwise healthy masculine activities. This place is technically a blue county because this town is owned and managed by ... a lot of ... (((executives))) let's just put it that way.

Dating is fine in LA. More beautiful women than any place else, except maybe Manhattan. Definitely better looking than Chi or NOLA (I love both those cities, btw)

It's everything else that's a pain in the ass. Especially if you are trying to settle down and raise a family.

The schools are terrible, traffic is a nightmare, the real estate is ridiculous (1.4 million for a shack built in 1940?), there are homeless everywhere, and there are probably at least 500,000 illegals.

It's one of the few places in America where you can be in the 1% and barely get by.

If you're single, 100k is enough to have fun. If you have a family, even 200k is a squeeze depending on the neighborhood (I'm looking at you, Santa Monica).

Rents have gone up 30-40% in the last few years. You could buy a gorgeous house in the rest of the country for the amount of rent you will pay on a 2 bedroom apartment.

And now that the autism brigade (Snap, Google, etc) is in town, it will only get worse.

Good news is OC finally had enough of the homeless and their activists bullshit.

They found a ton of needles, human waste, an underground bunker, over 1000 bikes, made over hundred arrests, and found a few missing persons.

Downside is the city gave the homeless vouchers to kick them out of the river bed and bike path.

There was a lawsuit, judge stopped the eviction order, then terms were agreed to, judge did a walk through and the clean up continues.

Overall it's great news and a win for OC.

Out in in LA county is hilariously losing the fight against the homeless.

They DOUBLED the amount of homeless in the city looking for permanent housing in just one year and they're going to have a shortfall of $270 million to be able to house all the homeless.

Of course the LA tax payer is getting fucked over by this and I guarantee you they'll be taxed more in the future.

Nobody cares about the homeless until they are next door to their communities. It is largely boring rich white folks who virtue signal the most when the homeless start to creep into the parks and bridges besides their communities.

Gentrification is the new phenomenon because in the old days these boring rich assholes would just move away. They would move farther out or go find a hill and build nice houses on them and gate themselves away from the city. Now they have all flocked back and start complaining about the mish-mash that has always been in the city. Riff-raft and transients have always existed in cities and add to the character of the place. You notice that these only became "social issues" when the rich boring folks started moving back to the city and didn't want the nightclubs, artists, or transients near them.

The irony is that running out slumlords whom would operate rooming houses has added to the homeless crisis. As long as the building is up to fire code I see no reason why it can't be inhabited and rented out. Rooming house rules have been hardened so that you can't build them in many parts of town. Lots of times the older Victorian style homes were used as you can pack more rooms into them but these are the homes that rich bougies like to buy and renovate and turn into their little urban mansions.

This is the one recurring thing that I hear about SF and what has kept me away. As a child, I was very big in Americana and would read books about American trails, parks, and cities. I was big into Ken Burns and all that stuff as well. San Fransisco, in pictures, looked to me like the most pleasant and nice place in America with its uniform street grid, uniform trees, and colourful buildings. I have always wanted to go and see this place in person. It almost appeared perfect.

Over time though all I hear is that SF smells like piss, is dirty, ramshackle, and oddly cold for California. After my friend lived in the Bay Area and told me how much of a dump SF I realized all the stuff I was known as a kid was likely a lie. Now on Youtube, you can google drive videos, or people just walking around with a go-pro. I do this for many places, especially SF and it confirms now what everyone is saying. The place looks like its stained in pee and all the paint is chipping away at everything in town. From far away the place looks very nice but in reality, on street level, it is a dump.

I wonder if the cause of virtue signalling is that people in general aren't in touch with their feelings or their true nature(to put it in a kooky way).

If they weren't actually doing anything themselves, and they were in touch with their feelings and had a more holistic understanding of themselves and their subconscious... maybe they might arrive at the conclusion that we shouldn't be doing more. It's the way the going goes- you subconsciously don't think you should do anything about it, that's why you're not, so why don't you consciously think that?

It's obviously uncomfortable for a lot of people to look deep inside themselves that way but I believe it's necessary.

The homeless are just an under-utilized resource.

They are a potential solution to another problem: for example the long LA commute from all surrounding areas.

Here's the idea: Call company Carpool Companions Inc. (CCI) Think of it as UBER except for a "borrowing" a live body instead of a ride

Commuter (User) picks up a homeless person ("meat") in the morning at designated CCI "meat lockers / bull pens" adjacent to the freeways. That way they can jump back on the freeway and use the carpool /HOV/ FastTrack lanes on their way into LA thereby significantly shortening their commute (Value Proposition to CCI user).

User drops off meat in downtown LA where they can spend the day (or a few or more...theyre homeless there's no rush back right?) enjoying the different shelter cuisine, drugs, etc. of the better developed infrastructure in LA homeless scene (Value Propsition to CCI "meat") Secondary benefit is some of the meat will decide to stay in there in downtown LA

In the afternoon the CCI user just repeats the process for the ride home.

User has CCI app that he uses to scan meat's bar-code when he picks him/her up. He pays CCI $3-5 per trip leg (CCI revenue model) via the app. Meat gets a cut (%TBD). CCI corporate could probably negotiate discounts on preferred items such as mini vodka bottles, cigs, contractor garbage bags and other assorted homeless essentials

Meat each have individual ID numbers is required to wear a bright yellow CCI branded coverall. The coverall not only helps identify them as registered CCI meat but also serves to contain the homeless stink so the nice bougie user doesn't get offended

Its a win win for everybody
