Sitting in the hotel lobby here and things are getting intense and people are making a lot of phone calls.

The guy I was chatting with the last hours all of a sudden flew up from his chair.
Three of his friends were working in the cabin crew. I almost had to force him back into his chair.

I don't know the current news well and what's going on over there in regards to politics and war, but this is really unfortunate.

Remember to live your life to the most of it whenever you can. Unexpected things happen. Not saying YOLO, but there is definitely a balance between going all out and failing to live the most of your days because 'theres always time to do this and that'.

The US wants a war so it can invalidate all of Russia's treasury holdings making that debt disappear. We basically have a nice financial "gun" held to the heads of a lot of world powers. No ones wants to lose their hard earned money, but if such a thing does occur it will definitely change the world power map.

It's very depressing and scary that we as individuals have no control over this sort of fucked up shit. To die in an accident, sure, but to die because one side or the other just feels like it or does it just to send a message... that is truly terrifying. You can stack cash, bodybuild to extremes and be famous, but someone far away just decides that time has come for you and your life is snapped away.

I would be more fareful with that line of tough. As more i read about the incident, the more i think it was an accident by either the russians or the terrorists, not a deliverated move to escalate the conflict.

My instinct tells me it was an accident by the Russian militia. If you watch videos of them, they are quite the rag tag group of mostly amateurs.

Then again, the Ukrainian army is just as bad, but I have a feeling they have better (American) advisers.

The true amateurs on the ground are on the Kiev side. All reports seem to point that they're getting slaughtered in battles against the separatists. Without planes and artillery, the Kiev forces are nothing, even with a huge equipment advantage.

Before everyone cries conspiracy it should be noted that the separatists just yesterday took responsibility for downing another plane in the same region.

Earlier today they said they had shot down another transport plane. Likely this is actually the MH flight.

It should also be noted that the news agency reporting that the downing is by separatists is the Russian Interfax which would further question the legitimacy of the claims of a false flash operation.
