I would probably be dead in like... 1-2 months.

Don't ask me why.

Research. I would fund and design my own outlandish research ideas that I'm afraid may not work out, specifically building and funding a lab completely devoted to developing a brain-computer interface, as well as other neuro research.

I think you missed the reference for that joke:

Also, considering how long you've been here, it would be safe to assume RVF members know how to work towards a threesome without a billion dollars (or without committing to being some chick's BF), we have plenty of resources here already.

I haven't lived Dan Bilzarian style, but I've come pretty close. More money wouldn't change how I live my life.

I would give most of it to charitable causes devoted to the rights of men - veteran's organizations, start a new men's right organization, stuff like that.

Raising hell is a lot more fun for me than stuff money can buy. I could raise a lot of hell with a billion dollars.

I'm getting my message out with a shoestring budget and my time. With a billion dollars, there'd be a damned revolution.

Much like Felix Dennis, I'd have at least 14 mistresses.

At once.

RE: Hypothetical: How would you live if you were a billionaire?
There aren't many billionaires like Richard Branson. There is a dude in Miami worth about a half a billion. I don't know him personally but have a few mutual friends and been to his parties.

He's def no Buffet, and has an awesome house and yachts, but by all accounts is a pretty strange dude. Pictures on FB he's dressed like shit, Id prob at least look the part a little bit.

To make that much money often takes a very high IQ, which is correlated with weird social behavior.

Im not so sure that much money is even desirable. You have so much that you throw huge parties and don't know 90% of the people. Very Gatsbyesque.

I think Id be perfectly happy with 10 million.

Hans Dix has the best answer.
I would die of a overdose, driving my super car too fast in the alps, fall of my yacht in a drunken stupor or get murdered for banging some mafia boss' s wife/mistress.

I would start making babies like that Aoki dude, i would want one from every culture. Japan, India, Sudan, Brazil, Scandinavia, Germany and Iceland. Of course I would set up some trust fund for all of them.

I have always loved Jaguars the animal, I would love to have one as a pet.

I would open up a restaurant or bar for something to do.

Fuck every porn star I've ever jacked off to... multiple times.

Own private island with (essentially) my own laws. You can never be truly free until you take off the yoke of government (there is a quote to that effect out there somewhere)

Own massive private yacht

One or two very nice cars

Massive art and antiquities collection

Travel

Other Stuff:

Invest in other's business ideas to give them a start

Just give money to whoever I think deserves it (rather than donating to charity where I know a lot will be wasted on administrative stuff - I've worked for NFPs and often the leadership teams make other CEOs' spending look tame)

Brand new fucking cool car and several hundred thousand dollars for my Dad, because I love him more than anyone else in the world

RE: Hypothetical: How would you live if you were a billionaire?
A billion dollars wouldn't necessarily change my life. In fact, I wouldn't really want to change anything I had at all. I'd just conservatively invest it, and give a bunch away to charity.

I'd still live in a relatively small apartment. Yeah, it'd be a nice place and all, tastefully furnished, but it wouldn't be a penthouse or a huge mansion. I'd probably drive a nice-but-not-over-the-top car, like a BMW 335i or a C350.

As people have said, things don't usually make you happy, it's doing things that make you the most happy. I'd venture to guess that Roosh is pretty happy, and while he probably makes a pretty good living off of his books, I bet there are some people on the forum who make way more than he does. Material goods don't make you long-term happy. The reason money can make people happy is because it can offer freedom. If I was working a shitty 9-5 job and was making $12 an hour of course I'd quit and go do something else, and with a yard in my checking account I could afford to go a little while without a steady income.

With my bil, I'd live debt free doing whatever it was that I wanted. I'd probably still have a job of some description.

If you let a billion dollars materially change your lifestyle, you're probably going to be attracting the wrong kinds of people. Yeah Dan Bilzerian has a whole bunch of pornstars on his arms the whole time, but I bet he gets tons of people who only want to be around him because he flashes cash and they want to be onboard for the ride. Those aren't the kinds of people you want around you. I'll take my friends as they are.

I guess it depends on how many billion, but if it was like 2+ billion I would buy an NHL,AHL and probably an NLL team. With the AHL and NLL team sharing the same venue.

Multiple houses and cars obviously. Ferrari F40 would be a must have.

Planes (sport and jet)

VIP helicopter

Lingerie football team just to have sporty pussy on tap

amartinsu13, that's freakin' sweet ... for your friend to be a billionaire. He must be one of the cofounders of a top 10 dotcom 2.0 company.

Well, if I was him, and I wanted to play the game for life, the very first thing I'd consider is sperm bank and vasectomy. I don't want to bang a bunch of hoes (of course, pre-screened for STDs), get them all pregnant, then have to be forced to go to family courts every month, so I want to store my sperm in several places as insurance, then get a vasectomy. I definitely work hard and play hard to my mid 30s, maybe even to age 39. When I feel ready, I'd buy quality eggs from beautiful women from IVY League schools with STEM degrees. Pay top dollars for those eggs, and hire a surrogate mother. After children are born, give the kids top notch nannies and educational opportunities. Groom them for success. While you are grooming them for success, you continuously switch out peak SMV (age 18-24) chicks every few years with whom you have co-habitation agreements with ... possibly a small harem like Charlie Sheen or Hef. By the time you are elderly, you will have intelligent, attractive, and hopefully appreciative adult children ready to pass the torch to. You can smile with satisfaction and rest on your throne like Conan the Barbarian.

not tell ANYBODY.
I mean, I'd buy a place, get in the best shape ever, travel, send a little to my parents, start a blog for something to do, read a lot and endow a decent library-but as far as anyone else knows, I'd be a successful copywriter...who never does any work, or registers with an agency.
But I would keep that the biggest secret ever. If that kind of news got out, I would not be a happy person.
Why else do so many lottery winners end up broke? Fair-weather allies, women desperate for mealtickets, halfwits looking for gullible investors, frantic conspicuous consumption..., nah, not for me.
Maybe I could approach some broke country, like the US or Moldova, and buy enough land to found a micronation in my own image?

RE: Hypothetical: How would you live if you were a billionaire?
A variation of the themes above.

I'd have a harem of at least 5 women from all over the world. They'd all live together and raise my children in a private island. When the kids are oldish id live in a first world country just so they learn to socialize somewhat normally.

All of them would have to understand though, that from time to time there may be other women. . .

I'd also start an university for the really poor but gifted, and back their ventures. Watch as the alumni take over the free world.

Also start some kind of bar or restaurant chain in Japan that sells upscale Mexican food. Win or lose, I'd have plenty of booty and delicious tacos. Gotta have quality tacos.

RE: Hypothetical: How would you live if you were a billionaire?
I'd wait three months before making any changes at all to my life. Then I'd stop working a job, spend around $50k to take care of some medical problems, and probably another 40-50k to knock the last few things off my bucket list, for both, it would probably realistically take half that, but with a billion, who's counting. I have a few technology projects I'd like to try that are moderate risk, with at least one that would be extremely controversial, and a few very specific basic research projects with limited up front gains but a lot of long-term potential. With a little luck and good execution, it could probably be done on < 1mil, but with a billion, I'd triple the budget to gain some flexibility. After that, it's throwing down trust funds for my parents, they're old enough that I don't like seeing them have to work, and trying to do something good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Battelle sets a good example.

I would start something like Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection and restore historic aircraft. I would fly them myself.
I would sponsor a couple of young talented MMA fighters and help them climb up to the top.
I would pay those high-end model-escort girls, wouldn't bother with women except for sex.
From time to time I would travel to different places around the world.
Definitely wouldn't stop working on improving my mind and body by reading, learning new things, and exercise.
I would spend a lot of money on health-related stuff, and keep fit. Why not enjoy all the above as long as possible?

I too would probably buy an NHL team but only put in $100 or $150 million and finance the rest or bring in other investors. The AZ Coyotes were just sold for $170 million and the owners only put $50 million down.

I would spend another $100 million on TV and radio stations hopefully in the same market as my team. It would be my way of dropping a little red pill wisdom on the masses. In addition I could cross promote the three.

I would put the rest into low risk investments and live off of the interest after subtracting inflation. (If inflation was 3% and the investments returned 5% I would live off of the 2%)

Edit: I would also invest in my own business ideas or ventures. I would probably live pretty similar to Mark Cuban.

EVERY TIME!

But seriously, between "smoke weed" all the time and the grandiose "Elon Musk/Tony Stark" possibilities, let me add some realism.

I've met and fucked a couple of billionaire family offspring. (One name you would recognize, the other you wouldn't.) I've had a window into their families, too. They were very upper middle class in lifestyle and values. (I might add a social third, a demi-billionaire's son - whose family will reach that mark during this decade because of the fracking oil boom. "Hey - what's a quarter billion among friends when your unlocked assets...," yada, yada.)

Now, neither was famous (Paris Hilton family, although my mother was engaged to marry her grandfather) or infamous (Kennedy family) - or the reverse is you prefer.

The very rich have our problems. Education, drugs or alcohol, career, love and family - and taxes.

What's missing in our 'wet dream' imaginings is this: how to have a meaningful social life?

Groupies, hosting (or herding) ego-driven salons, "party party party!" - or what? This is difficult for us, but much more difficult when you're very rich - because it is a much greater liability.

How do you split the needle between Howard Hughes isolation and the "Less Than Zero" youthful lives of desperation and dissipation? I think it's harder for them than for us, with our normal challenges.

That's why celebrity troubles make news and spark the wide (histrionic?) range of reactions they always do.

I know NHL teams are relatively cheap but I would also want to build an arena or buy one if it was new enough. If the market could support it I'd want to build something around 22 or 23k seats. Keeping in mind it would be used for concerts etc. as well. Basically I would want the best arena money could buy and the biggest in the NHL.

Ideally I would like to build another smaller arena (5k seats) in the same city for the AHL and lingerie football team. If possible it would make sense to have a WHL or NLL team play out of here as well and those franchises can be had for peanuts.

I can add a dose of reality. Buying stuff is fun, at first. You have to be careful not to become a slave to your possessions. If you live and breath hockey then buying a NHL team would be fun. But are you prepared for the responsibilities that come with it. After a while you spend all your time taking care of "stuff" either directly or via your employees.

Quick edit: I'm not anywhere close to being a billionaire.
