I figured this would be best fit in the newbie forum. I came upon a bit of an epiphany this morning and don't know why I never noticed it before:

I have been seeing this girl now for about 3 months. Very solid main girl - turning into an LTR. Anyway, she went to a wedding over the weekend and mentioned this girl that was there that she went to school with talking about how good looking she was. Then she sent me a pic of her at the wedding to show her to me. She sent me another picture the next morning too (from her FB page maybe) and she commented how gorgeous she is.

I realized, this is a LTR shit test.

She is seeing if I have beta tendencies to knock on other chicks who are good looking with 2/10 wnb because I want her to think she is the apple of my eye. In hindsight, I recognize other girls I have been with have done this to after x amount of time of being together. Don't fall for it.

She is not looking for validation; she is looking to see that your dick is indiscriminant and that you are a man who would gladly fuck other girls besides her.

The texts went as follows:

Her: (pic)
Me: Very pretty
Her: Gorgeous!
Me: 8/10 wb
Her(next morning): Wb?
Her: (pic 2)
Me: Mmm
Her: Whats wb?
Me: Would bang
Her: If she's an 8 then I'm like a 5 soooo you're off!
Me: She's more of an 8.5 with that 2nd pic
Me: Show me a few more I might decide she's a 9 and ask you for her num

EDIT: BTW this girl I'm seeing is a solid 7

She's qualifying you by sending you pics.

Basically she's putting up the hop and you're jumping through it every single time by reacting.

Girls are a lot better at text game than the average guy. While you think you're doing well you're actually drowning.

This was a shit test that you failed.

After the 1st pic, you should've replied "is that what you'll look like after plastic surgery?" Then proceed to give her your opinion on other improvements. Yes it's asshole ish but she'll never try that crap again.

Would've shut down that line of conversation right away.

If you let a girl play games with the relationship they will run it into the ground. They don't know any better.

They have soooo many stupid ideas that run through their head in a day and the scary thing is they think they're all good. Unlike us guys who do have a ton of ideas running through our heads we are realistic about which ones are crazy.

So you're saying you think the whole point of this conversation was to text me things and get me to text back?

I don't know about that one man I've been seeing this girl regularly for the past 3 months and she treats me very well. I think I'm a little past the point of having to constantly neg the shit out of her and ignore all her texts. At this stage in our relationship I'm less concerned with trivial things like text-game that make or break a new conquest, and more concerned with these subtle LTR tests, PDA ratio, and deep conversion shit.

If you're fucking her everything is a subtle shit test.
Sometimes just your masculine aura is enough to stop them but most of the time she'll do little things you might not even notice to test you.

What was the purpose of her sending you pics of another girl?
Were you planning a 3sum? Was she trying to hook you up with a friend of hers?

A photo of her more attractive friend sent to you for no reason is highly suspicious in my book.

Your responses can always be ambiguous, agree and amplify type responses. On the face of it, you confirm that she's your girl. But there is doubt in her mind about how much you're talking tongue in cheek.

You - For sure. But you know I only like <x> girls! (x is a characteristic that describes the girl you're texting with)

Just dont text so much. Dont text at all, just a simple "cool" or "thats nice" diffuses this whole thing and makes her look stupid.

Gaslight her, bring it back around by not reacting at all, no emotion, no witty text banter. Make her eventually say, "sorry, I was acting stupid." Just simple one word replies that show her your too busy or dont give a fuck about her petty games.

Thats all she is trying to do, engage you in petty girl games that she plays with her friends. And your playing along now, playing the same games she plays with other girls about their looks.

Now that you have this girl hooked you can pull back entirely, and not spend as much time, money or give her as much attention. That means less texting, i.e. less worrying and anxiety over it like you would at the beginning.

Did you fail or pass this shit test? Well, passing means playing text volleyball with a girl over trivial immature games she started playing before the age of 10. If so then yes, you passed, you can now be a witty participant in a Mean Girls reenactment.

Make her wonder what your opinion is. Make her wonder if she's pissed you off because you dont react to silly girl text games. Say something double sided so she doesnt quite know if you like her or not, which will probably just make her like you more. That said your brain power can probably better used elsewhere.

To me your girl just got excited and turned into "omg i have to show him that omg" mode. Just a random situation, nothing to read into.

After her "gorgeous" text I'd reply with "indeed, but hey every girl looks 2x better on her wedding day I guess it's that glow" and forget about it.

What's the point of telling your girl how you rate other girls? Super nerd shit. And reactive as hell. If my girl told me some random guy is a 8 I'd laugh my ass off and mock how dorky she is for a week minimum.

I wouldn't respond. Rating some girl via text w my main...not interested. Onboard w XXL here, just an 'omg gotta share' moment that will pass as fast as you allow it to.

If this came up in actual conversation, maybe reply with

"that's great, she looks so happy" - an answer that says nothing about what she actually asked, which is a good habit to get into. If she presses on, make a joke about how she's obsessing over it. First denial of her expectation, she might press on. Second denial, she knows if she presses any further she will look needy herself.

A big part of game is realizing fleeting emotional expectations and then acting in accordance to verbally dance around or dismiss them. Even better if you find amusement in the process

"whoever picked out that dress has great taste" -subtle, says yea she looks good without actually saying it. Also, of course the bride picked out her own dress so now you're complimenting both her style and looks in an under the radar way. As with the last response, you're not answering her question and you're implying countless other things.

Thanks guys - definitely been having a problem with taking things women say/think too seriously. Good looking out on the enlightening viewpoints.

Still curious if anyone thinks there is an ulterior motive to girls wanting to see how you gauge the attractiveness of other girls.
