Sooo, I sent a message through the site, to which she replied later in the week about how she actually ran my email through FB, and thinking I was her kinda guy, given the posts of my portrait drawings. And so, I replied, "So, are you down to meet?" Of course, the exchanged flatlined from there. Psh. That's the online scene for ya. So I had my first crack at online dating after (hopefully) having absorbed some helpful stuff from this forum and elsewhere. Got maybe a 50% 'view' rate from my openers, which I'm hoping is decent considering I only message HB8s and up. Fairly certain my pictures and possibly profile are letting me down.

Anywho, a chick that did reply went kinda spaz. Sent 3 messages straight after each other. All kind of insulting, but in quite an over the top kind of way. Not sure if it's just a shit test, she is just fucking with me, or its a genuine reaction from some crazy vindictive chick.

Anyone else had similar? I'm leaning towards a reply of "Haha. You're adorable." Or something like that.

Or just ignoring. Although if she is just crazy, I kinda want to mess with her...

If she insults you or starts playing games right off the bat, don't waste another moment of your life. As you'll notice from my previous posts in this thread, I've found the games game players play on the site are nothing compared to what they'll play once you've got their number and try to set something up.

Life is too short to spend messing with them. It's not even that entertaining - one should feel sorry for the mentally ill and leave them alone.

In my experience there are some quality girls online. For me it's been worth the effort. My advice:

1. Use talking on the phone when they are open to it. This is the missing link to build comfort with some of these girls. It's BULLSHIT that you can't build comfort over the phone. I've had several 1st dates at home because I built comfort on the phone.

2. Don't be in a hurry. Yes, you have to move things forward but don't be afraid to put her on the back burner for awhile.

My Korean lead disappeared. She was actually down to hang and put it on me to set something up. I shot her my number and a day later I was without a phone...which lasted for 5 days. I go to check online and I think she deactivated her profile...either that or blocked me due to not responding to her text. On to the next.

How do you know she deactivated her profile or that you're blocked? When someone deactivates their profile, in your message history their image will just come up as grey, and if you click on it, it will take you to a screen that says "Sorry, that user doesn't exist" or something to that effect.

If you're blocked, you won't know it explicitly. You'll be able to see their profile and open a message window with them just fine, but every message you send will just get dumped into a black hole and you'll never get the "read" checkmark. On their end it's just as if they were never sent.

I actually met with a chick a while back where something like that happened - it turned out her account had just been temporarily deactivated because the modnazis didn't like one of her pics or something and it took her a while to get back in.

Just make sure the symptoms point towards a definite "next" on her case and not just a misunderstanding

Her image comes up a grey and at the bottom says *username* no longer has an account. I checked to see if her username would pop up, but nothing there either. So my guess is that she deactivated. Last message I sent was Thursday, I can't even be sure if she text me or not because my phone was out after that day.

Right, still have leads I'm working so we'll see in time with this one. She did show good interest so I'll go off that. Also it felt kinda weird not having the response meters anymore. I'm curious of why they'd remove it.

I made a fake girl profile on OKC, because I was curious to verify the claim that when a girl signs up online she has a lot of quality guys messaging her and that's why other quality dudes can't get her in the bar.

This girl is a 7, maybe 8, I just copied her from a profile in another city. She's 27. Ok, maybe I should've lowered the age. Very pretty girl, but doesn't stand out with big boobs or anything like that. Just you pretty girlfriend type that most men would wife up. Thin, dark hair. I certainly would date that chick.

It's been three days, this profile received 46 messages. I looked a bit at the guys that were messaging and NONE of them striked me as anything that special. A lot of these dudes send extremely beta messages like "Anyone who goes out with you is a lucky man". A lot of guys who seems like they don't have anything going for them. Two or three dudes trying to buy the girl. The top guy was probably this black dude with his style on lock and a pretty good career.

My takeouts:
- The competition is not that serious. A lot of volume, not a lot of quality. The Internet alphas are not eating every girl in the city.
- The messages that stand out are the short ones where the guy doesn't try too hard. From my point of view.
- Pictures matter the most.
- On a larger scale. Bitchy girls are bitchy because of their personality, not because they have Leo Dicaprio on tap waiting on the phone in their back pocket.
