I was naive back then and didn't listen to all the longer term expats I know who basically told me not to trust the girls here. I thought they were jaded cynical arseholes, but now I know exactly where they were coming from.

I've adapted now and play the game the girls are playing. No more relationships, keep a harem on rotation and life is good.

You can read my last post,, I said "don't ever trust a filipina" this was drilled into my head the day off the plane. Who told me? A 5 year vet over here in the PI.. he said you go to vietnam if you want love (girls are different there). Here, lies are spoken every other sentence. There is no such thing as "truth" or "guilt" here in the Phils.. I repeat.. never trust a pinay.

Anyone else concur that Vietnam is better for LTR than the Phils?

Yes. I hooked up with a legit virgin. However, many of the girls there too are becoming westernized, albeit at a slow rate.

How about receptiveness to age differences as compared to the Phils?

Judging from what I've learned, the girls that have vocally expressed their interest in older men have been a few. But they were mid 20s and up. I did not notice any significant differences in age with the couples I spotted during my trip. I did notice it in the club, but many of the club girls are hookers. I'm sure it exists though. An interesting thing I did see was when I snooped on my girls'/dates' wechat or viber or whatever is that they predominantly got messages from older men, so I'm sure you can draw your conclusion there.

I suspect it may not be as high as the Philippines.

You guys need to keep in mind that not every girl in the philippines is a replica of each other. There are some normal girls there, there are girls looking for legit relationships, there are girls who are just looking to get plowed. Even if the majority are looking to be "saved" there are still tons looking for everything else. If someones experience is that every girl out there is a dirt poor country girl looking for a provider maybe that's what he attracts, maybe that's what his looks-money-status is able to get him, maybe his game or personality gets him that kind of girl. Just remember that things are different for everyone. If you don't know how to read people better than the majority of the population you have no business looking for a girlfriend anywhere in asia. If you're just looking for notches and fun then plow away and don't catch feelings.

Shimmy: You give a fair rebuke.

All I can say is that from my experience, and from the majority of foreigners I know is that you will simply get screwed being in any long term relationship with a Pinay. The relationships that do last usually have a fairly wealthy guy whom supports the girl and her family and provides a somewhat lavish lifestyle (including buying property in the partners name and frequent international travel). Anything else will lead to the girl pursuing other men in the search for a better lifestyle. Once they get a taste of the western boyfriend gravy train they are unstoppable on their pursuit for more.

Guys who have come here and banged a bunch of 3-5's (that's what the majority of you would have been banging, maybe a few 6's thrown in) from Tinder on their 3 week holiday can continue to think Pinays are the greatest women to grace gods green earth. Stay here longer than 6 months, and the truth will come through.

I'm a realist. I like Pinays overall, I love their disposition and their outlook on life. I don't like their dishonesty, their cheating and their parasitic nature.

There are countries where you have to search a lot harder, for good girlfriend material. The Philippines is such a country.
That being said, it is hard to contemplate having something serious, when you are banging 15 to 20 different girls each month.
Probably after 3 to 6 months.

RE: The Philippines thread
Just woke up and felt like contributing a few points:

1. "The country will never improve" - Actually it is improving. The GDP of the Philippines is growing at a steady rate of 5% per year, making it the 3rd fastest growing economy in Asia right now. Anecdotally, a property owner here in Dumaguete told me that when he first moved here 8 years ago there were only 5 or 6 cars in the whole town. You now see 1000s of large automobiles and traffic jams are common during the day. Despite the widespread poverty, the country is actually richer than many other Asian countries. The Philippines certainly has ample resources, but corruption and the lazy ass culture holds it back. Personally I blame the Spanish legacy.

2. Many Filipinos are dating some truly exceptional women while we are typically dealing with the bad apples. But it's not always easy to see the difference right away. I met a university student on the bus who made her Filipino boyfriend court her for 4 months and they still haven't kissed almost 1 year into dating. She seemed well-educated and devoutly religious. She will be a good wife, but would you be willing to be that beta? There are normal girls here, but they might be too prude for most of us. You can certainly score a legit virgin in the provinces, but you won't typically be finding her on Date In Asia or at a bar. As with anything, you need to put in some effort to find what you want. Personally, the idea of "courting" and deflowering a truly innocent girl who expects marriage isn't my thing. But to each his own.

3. Like I alluded to before, girls dating foreigners are often regarded as straight-up hookers. Especially in the smaller towns. Although there's sometimes an element of jealousy in the stares you get, I think there is a grain of truth to the hooker accusations in many cases. Namely, we are dealing with the more materialistic and promiscuous women. Filipino men understand that and shame them accordingly. This is still a conservative nation.

4. Dating a rich(er) chick may indeed be the way to go. I know there are a couple guys on here doing just that. But on that point, I wonder what's the reason for specifically dating Filipinas then? It seems to me like East Asia would be a better bet if you are after white-skinned, middle-class women. Let's not kid ourselves - the majority of girls you meet here are going to be poor, especially outside of Manila. Even chicks that are very well-educated are often living in a glorified hut. Get some photos of their family home if in doubt. Flawless American English with no running water? You can find it here.

PM me for accommodation options in Bangkok.

I've got to say it's always confusing that guys keep going back to the advice and experiences of "long-term expats" in these threads.

Personally I try to do pretty much the opposite of what any of those guys do.

1. Forget the GDP. If Duterte becomes president, which I would bet money on at this point, this country will change in major ways, from safety to corruption to economics.

This guy is a real alpha that I think most guys on this forum would appreciate.

2. This is basically what it comes down to. Guys aren't willing to do what it takes.

Which there's nothing wrong with. I'm not trying to wait a year to kiss a girl either. But at the same time, it's confusing to see guys purposely seek out the sluts then complain about sluts. Guys may claim they're not "purposely" going after sluts, but at this point there's enough Phils data that anyone trying to wife up girls on Date In Asia is certainly being willfully ignorant.

Also, to address the point more directly, most girls aren't quite that conservative, and it has a lot to do with the guy too. It's not like he was trying to kiss her everyday for a year. There's quite a bit of grey area between smashing after a 30-minute coffee date and waiting a year for a kiss.

3. As Shimmy touched on, this is really dependent upon the vibe you give off.

One of the biggest celebrities in the Phils right now is a foreign guy who's Brazilian-Japanese, and he's famous mostly for being handsome and charming.

So it's not being a foreigner specifically that causes this problem. Usually there are a lot of other factors at play.

For instance, I remember a middle-to-upper class female friend telling me how odd it was that her best friend's fiancée was so much older.

I think the girl is 23, the guy 35. That's not even that big of an age difference, even for a Western country, and they're both Pinoy.

Now consider you have a 50 year old dating a 19 year old, they're both from completely different classes, completely different countries, the girl is attractive and decently dressed and the guy is fat and sloppy. That's going to look completely strange.

Whereas if it's a younger foreigner with a younger Filipina, both with similar class and education levels, both similarly attractive and well-dressed, no one is really going to care that much for the most part. You will have jealous guys, but most locals aren't going to think the girl is a hooker in that situation. She probably has local suitors with more money anyways.

One I see a lot is an older white guy with an older Filipina, where they both look pretty evenly matched and happy together. Again, I don't think most locals see that couple and think "what a whore!"

I'm not saying the older guys here should swear off younger pussy, I'm just laying out how the locals perceive things from my experience.

There's a lot more shades of grey than "foreigner + Filipina = slut".

4. There are tons of middle class girls here.

A few reasons a guy might date Filipinas over East Asians:

- vastly more culturally similar
- language (more English spoken; Tagalog is closer to romance languages than it is to East Asian languages)
- a lot more variety in appearance (I'm not saying they look BETTER, just that Filipinas look a lot more diverse as a whole than Chinese, Japanese, etc.)
- the country itself (a place with breathtaking natural beauty vs. a major Chinese or Korean city)
- visa (one of the most lenient visa policies for Westerners, especially if you're American)
- cost of living
- more accepting (goes back to the things I mentioned in #3; Filipinos are a lot more interested and accepting of other cultures)

I don't really get caught up in the "these girls are better than those girls" arguments, so this isn't to say Filipinas are superior to East Asians. Those are just a handful of reasons I could see for a guy living in the Philippines and dating Filipinas vs. China, Japan, Korea, etc.

RE: The Philippines thread
It seems like one will get much better results from day gaming in the Phils rather than using online sites. I signed up for a dating site and got tons of hits, but only ended up meeting one and didn't like her. I much more prefer choosing girls in person. So I day gamed. I also adjusted my day game on the fly based on my observations. I saw a white guy in the mall swinging his head around to look at every 19 year old girls ass. I don't want to be that guy. Subtlety. I'm different here and stand out. I also realized once I was there that the girls are rather shy and there is social pressure on how they are perceived by their countrymen/women. Again, be subtle. Indirect.

It worked out well for me. I met some high quality girls by subtle day gaming.

Take care of those titties for me.

Come to think of it this really reminds me of the girls who seek out woman beating bad boys and complain "I wish I could find a nice guy for once" then proceed to date losers.

RE: The Philippines thread
Hi all,

Sorry if this slightly off-topic.

I registered today on Filipinocupid, and paid the full platinium membership as I read so many good things about the site here.

However, right after I paid, my account was suspended, and they now ask me to send photographies of my credit card for payment verification:

"In order to prevent fraudulent payments on our websites, our billing department reviews certain transactions. Unfortunately, for some transactions we require additional verification to prove that the person making the transaction is authorized to do so.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS: we request that you fax or email us proof that you are in possession of your credit card.

To do this, please send us a fax or scanned copy of your credit card (front and back) or your card statement AND a copy of your government issued photo ID"

This looks very fishy and odd. It makes no sense to ask unencrypted payment information from someone.

Has anyone run into this issue before? How did you resolve it? It seems that they don't ask this for all transactions, but for some reason my profile looked suspicious Confused

Premieres in two days on TV5 - should be dumb fun. Making an pop-culture archetype for Filipinas to watch and Filipino men to hate. Always a slight hostility behind that "Hey, Joe!" stuff.

Even though they are somewhat westernized their mainstream local entertainment is like the rest of SEA..complete and utter shit. There's nothing redeeming about their shows or movies. It's actually a good barometer to see where the culture is really trending. The irony here is that the shittier the local entertainment the better the local attitudes tend to be. My pet theory is that when people don't get enough social interaction in real life they start putting all their angst down in the form of good writing for tv and film which in turn produces decent art.

Filipino tv shows are full of dopey looking comedians doing pratfalls with 1950's sound effects, pedestalized women, and pretty boys who probably take it up the ass in private.

How do you guys respond to someone saying "Hey Joe"? A girl informed me what it meant while I was there and then I started to notice it. It was always when they weren't standing by me, like when they are going up the escalator and you're going down, etc. I started responding by saying "Hey Pedro".

I have to agree with you 100%. I used to walk through the malls in Manila and think the same thing. You have to look at 300 girls to find a great one. My friend and I said there are NO 9s and 10s in the Philippines! Overall Philippines has a lot of small girls. Most lack curves, have small boobs and mediocre faces. If want quality, then go to FSU.

Bro, that's ridiculous! The are tons of 9s or 10s in the PH. It's known to have stunners. I owned a company there (IT) and know this for a fact. Of course they have less curves than, say the bigger-boned type in Europe. It's ASIA for God's sake. All countries have some number of 9s more than "300 to find a great one" unless:

1. chicks eat too much and are fat
2. chicks have too much facial hair

Think about it? It's ridiculous to make grand, sweeping statements like that. Shows you're not being level-headed and exaggerating doesn't help anyone.

Many pinays definitely juggle multiple balls at the same time and often have a backup method.

I dumped a girl recently, within 4 days she already had a visa and flight to Europe by some guy wanting to marry her!

One girl I was banging I found her facebook by typing in her phone number in the search. I actually found 2 facebook accounts, one which looked normal, and one with a load of pictures of her (she's 19) all loved up with some older dude (50-60+), apparently they are engaged!

I guess a main reason is because these girls are so desperate to be taken care of. Desperate desperate desperate. They need to juggle and have multiple options because they are desperate. And don't get me started on their family too. They encourage them to be gold diggers because they wanted to be taken care of too! If you want the girl, she's comes as a package. You need to look after her financially and her family too. Yes, to many pinays us white guys are just another walking dollar sign in their eyes and in their families eyes too.

One big red flag is seeing a few foreign guys they are friends with on facebook. They've all probably banged her or at least are orbiters and if they are chumps will be courting her from abroad because they aren't getting laid in their own countries.

So trust these girls? Definitely not. Have a harem, work on your game and increase your notch count? Absolutely. This is the way to go in the Philippines I think.

ANY 3rd world country where you have 10X more money or perceived that way will create girls having other guys lined up stage left the second they think you are not going to work with them. I'm amazed how people like to stereotype from one country to the next. But two things the PH has in spades over other poor countries is corruption and insane income inequality. Both of these have very negative effects on all "normal" girls.

I had a foreign corp in cebu for 3 years. I met some VERY loyal girls that were honest with me. Those that felt more "secure" that I'd treat them fairly and not just dump them as they experienced with PH guys who are pretty spoiled vs. women there, or from other expats....they were super loyal and super fun to be with.

Being in Makati early this year I realized the country is just one step down from Burma: it is a FEUDAL society and that is a fact. Like Britain in the 1700s. You can read about that. The top 50 families suck the marrow out of the country. They are disgusting. If you think Trump is ugly, he's nothing compared to the ruling families hypocrisy there.

I still think the PH is full of amazing women. I find the more educated, who probably also work long hours, are the best to sleep with and be with. It is NOT easy to hook up with them until you have some connections with others that have decent college education. Getting a network of friends in any city in the PH helps much.

Cheers,

There's a lot more shades of grey than "foreigner + Filipina = slut".

Yeah, see I think this might be a difference in location. I've never got the stares or talk of slut shaming in Manila or Cebu. Nobody gives a shit in those cities. Dumaguete might just be a lot more conservative on this point.

I think you either live somewhere where this attitude is less common or you simply haven't noticed or understood the negative attitudes of locals towards women dating foreigners. This isn't unique to the Philippines but I think that it should be mentioned.

I'm in my late 20s and in good shape but guys often stare at the girls I'm with when we walk around town. A girl visiting me from Cebu even commented that she felt uncomfortable here because of the men looking at her. Rio also mentioned guys calling his girl a slut in public (but in Tagalog so he didn't catch it).

All that said, when you are getting hate it often means you are doing something right. Back in Japan the only time I got stared down was when I was with particularly attractive girls. Nobody gave a damn about the 6s and 7s.

In Manila I dated a couple of middle-class girls, although they came with their own problems. Out here I haven't ran into many except the students who mostly keep to their own tightly-knit social circles.

One definition of the Filipino middle class I read was anywhere between $2-40k in income. That's a big fucking range! I'd personally consider someone earning below $5k as pretty poor and that's the majority of the population by far.

I'm in agreement that it makes sense to target a better-off demographic of girl, although this still says a lot about the country when the average person is basically undateable for foreigners. You don't hear the same horror stories about your average Vietnamese chick for example. Why is that?

RE: The Philippines thread
I’ve got a couple more weeks left in the Philippines and I have been reflecting on things. It has been a fun time for sure, although I’m undecided on whether to come back for more. Since I first posted about Dumaguete, the girl situation has got infinitely better for me. It’s not a pussy paradise but most guys will do just fine if they stick around a while. Internet game sucks, but you will meet open-minded girls if you get out and about. The bodies on some of the chicks are so on point. Overall, I have developed a soft spot for this country despite its flaws and annoyances. The people are charming and life is enjoyable.

Anyway, here are a few more general observations - not girl-related for once!

Time is cheap

It’s quite striking how cheap time is in this country. Especially other people’s time! My personal trainer always turns up 20-30 minutes late. The housewife using the ATM thinks nothing of trying the same card over and over again without regard to anyone waiting behind her in the line. Bureaucrats in the immigration office will happily ignore you until they feel like serving you. That’s just how things seem to work here. I try to relax and roll with it. Maybe it’s us Victorian-influenced westerners that are the weird ones with regards to our relationship with time.

Driving is an experience

Driving here is an experience to say the least. There are no rules at all. No license required. No registration. No traffic signals (in Dumaguete at least). No cops. Kids overtake on blind corners at night with no working lights on their motorbike. I’d say that 1 in 500 people wear a helmet. It’s wild. The scariest drivers are the jeeps and 4x4s though. These guys are out to kill! You have to constantly expect the unexpected if you want to stay alive. I suppose this is Darwinism in action!

No need for protein shakes

The Philippines is a meat-centric kind of country, which is awesome for guys who work out. There is a decent enough gym culture, but more importantly it’s super cheap and easy to buy protein-rich food. To name a few, you have lechon, delicious barbecue joints and the supermarkets are incredibly well-stocked with all kinds of meat cuts available - the choice is certainly much better than anywhere else I’ve lived in Europe or Asia. The meat and fish here has replaced my need to buy protein shakes. Paleo-style living would be extremely doable here.

Fruit and vegetables are surprisingly expensive

Surprisingly enough, fruit and vegetables aren’t that cheap compared to what you’d expect in such a tropical country. Many Filipinos seem to barely eat any fruit or vegetables. It’s just meat, rice and junk food. You can find OK prices in the markets, but the stores really take the cake with their pricing. I’m not sure what the reason is for this. You’d think that fruit would be easy to grow here.

Infrastructure sucks

Most people living here will already know this, but infrastructure can be a pain in the ass. We get weekly blackouts here. For a while it was daily. Sometimes the internet stops working for days at a time across the whole town. My water even stopped running for a period. Many roads are indefinitely “under construction” and represent a real driving hazard. The shitty infrastructure is one factor that really seems to hold the place back. It’s hard to work on an internet-based business when you are constantly losing your connectivity and potentially letting clients down. In fact, I’m in a cafe right now because my electricity and internet are down. Overall, it serves as a reminder of how pampered we are in the developed world.

PM me for accommodation options in Bangkok.

I agree with mostly everything else but I don't think this is true. I actually found people who would provide me with free coconuts.

Nutritious and vitamin rich vegetables are almost nothing cost wise unless you're shopping for kale and spinach. Swap that for malunggay, chayote, morning glory, chili leaves, other native vegetables. They are equally nutritious. It's dirt cheap.

Fruit is not more or less expensive than neighboring countries. You need to go by seasons. Mango season is about 2 months March-April in Thailand. I think it's slightly longer in the P.I.

Go shop at the fresh markets too. You'll find a lot of good stuff for give away prices. Just get your little filipina to do the shopping and negotiating Smile.

Btw the meat in the Philippines, especially in the supermarket is low grade. They have "aussie" beef at cocaine per gram prices available but you really need to know a quality local butcher or someone who owns a decent piggery to get real quality.

The SM meat is really shit..tough, occasionally strange tasting, and not even what is advertised at times. Bored and low paid backroom workers have been known to dump in ground chicken, pork, and beef together at the end of the day giving it a stir reselling it the next.

You'd be way better off getting the butcher at the fresh market slicing you off a rump. The part where flies don't land on that is.

Yeah, a major city with over a million people is going to be a little different than a small city of 100,000.

Your claim was that "girls dating foreigners are often regarded as straight up hookers". I simply pointed out cases where that is not true.

I didn't state that it NEVER happens, and even specifically used the term "shades of grey".

The example you quoted specifically refers to a foreigner and Filipina dating who are of the same age, class, and attractiveness.

If you live in a city that doesn't have a middle class and are dating girls who aren't middle class, then what you are talking about isn't really relevant to the point I was making there.

Quote:I late 20s and in good shape but guys often stare at the girls I'm with when we walk around town.

The class perception goes both ways, up and down. Why would a young, attractive white guy from a wealthy country be with a poor girl? Because she's a hooker.

I'm not saying that is the case, but that is going to be the perception.

The Philippines is a very class based society. A rich local guy would get negative reactions dating a girl from the lower class just the same as a foreigner would.

They will bang them but they're not going to date them or be seen with them.

Quote:A girl visiting me from Cebu even commented that she felt uncomfortable here because of the men looking at her. Rio also mentioned guys calling his girl a slut in public (but in Tagalog so he didn't catch it).

Guys say a lot of shit in Tagalog/Bisaya, it doesn't matter if you're with a girl or not.

Most girls will not even volunteer that information to avoid problems.

As Sp5 pointed out earlier, some say "hey Joe" as a form of mocking. Does that mean every Filipino hates Americans? Clearly not.

Why would you take some random hecklers as an indication of the consensus thought of an entire country?

Quote:All that said, when you are getting hate it often means you are doing something right. Back in Japan the only time I got stared down was when I was with particularly attractive girls. Nobody gave a damn about the 6s and 7s.

Yes, I'm also assuming you speak Japanese and weren't dating poor girls.

You're going to get hate from certain people regardless of where you are.

How many guys in the West use terms like "slut", "douche", etc. when they see a guy dating a girl they want?

Quote:In Manila I dated a couple of middle-class girls, although they came with their own problems. Out here I haven't ran into many except the students who mostly keep to their own tightly-knit social circles.

Then move to a major city.

Quote:One definition of the Filipino middle class I read was anywhere between $2-40k in income. That's a big fucking range! I'd personally consider someone earning below $5k as pretty poor and that's the majority of the population by far.

Bro, what? $5k per month is enough to live like a king in any city in SEA. An entire family could live off that very comfortably.

Even in the US that's considered at least middle class.

Quote:I'm in agreement that it makes sense to target a better-off demographic of girl, although this still says a lot about the country when the average person is basically undateable for foreigners. You don't hear the same horror stories about your average Vietnamese chick for example. Why is that?

First off, this is just a fantasy mentality. Guys just want to get off the plane, close their eyes and spin around in a circle, and the girl they land on is their wife.

Average chick? Where in the world would you want to have a serious relationship with just any random girl you stumble across?

Secondly, you don't hear the same horror stories about Vietnam because you don't have thousands of foreigners flocking there in the hopes of easy pussy. You don't have millions of guys around the world messaging Vietnamese girls on FB, DIA, etc.

I've talked to multiple Thailand vets who agreed that the things posted about the Philippines are very similar to those posted about Bangkok over the the years.

Yet Thailand and Philippines are very different cultures and have very different histories.

Why is it that they both have very similar horror stories with women?

Because it's the same type of person going there.

Going back to the Thailand example, I read the book “Tiny Dancer” after seeing it recommended here.

The guy wifes up a literal prostitute that he meets in a bar, who continues to work as a prostitute while they're dating. Is that a horror story or is the guy just an idiot?

Go meet a Vietnamese girl, marry her and bring her to the UK after knowing her for 6 months and let me know how that works out.
