RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
(4) Blue pill life was killing me. I weighed well over 300 pounds, I had hypertension, and I was pre-diabetic. My life revolved around video games, cooking and eating tasty food, and drinking beer. I needed to find enjoyment in life that did not revolve around being sedentary and packing calories into my body. My mind was slowing down and my body was becoming a hindrance.

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
I picked Option 2, Natural with women, but I wouldn't call it being Natural the way a lot of people would consider it, i.e. bedding beautiful women on a regular basis. I was always shy, and felt rejected by social circles around me. However I had a strong belief in myself so I sort of fell into one relationship after another with women that weren't the hottest but not the ugliest either (except one.. yeesh). I wasn't ugly and not handsome and I had crap taste in music but I thought I was the best thing in the world.

I came here by way of the Men's Rights movement, to Roissy in DC, then Virgle Kent and Roosh. I have a defunct blog in which I rant and rail about how unfair the world is to men, but I haven't contributed to it in years.

Funny thing, I'm now a lot more cautious about talking to women in my social circle than I used to be. I've realized how reputations can be made or broken with one careless remark. It's a curse but also a blessing that I can even be in a social circle.

I was low man on one of the more unforgiving totem poles, Washington, D.C..

College was fun, but college wasn't real life. I didn't want to do online dating, but was looking for some place where a single dude could do well. I remember googling "DC Bachelor" and - Damn! That was a while ago...

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
3 years ago I got really depressed.

I has questions that I needed answered and I sought guidance. But I didn't find them until I typed in a question regarding women on return of kings. I didn't really care for the advice on women at the time but more about self improvement which is what I needed and needed badly.

Even though I have both of my parents in my life ,they could only teach me so much .

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
I wanted to find like-minded traditional guys, but this is mostly a somewhat complicated version of number one. I grew up moving around and never was around the same friends long enough to learn how to attract women. (My father lucked out with my mother and would have likely been a lifelong bachelor had he not hit the jackpot. I realized this at the end of middle school.)

I was a loner who was uninterested in social stuff until I hit puberty and realized that girls like guys with friends. I half-assed a social life to implement a solution to this. Even though I was a history-obsessed socially clueless weirdo that kind of scared people, a funny thing dawned on me throughout high school - girls were interested in me throughout all of it. Cute ones, too! I was too adamant about breaking into the "right" social groups to care, though - the cute girls who liked me might have been cute, but they were band geeks, choir nerds, and social rejects from anime club. I graduated a virgin, and lost my virginity at around 19 on OKCupid to a landwhale seven years older than me. One of the lowest moments of my entire life.

I started college at about 21, and got laid somewhat consistently, but I could never control it. If a hot girl jumped on my dick at a frat party, it was always her choice and never mine. All of the reading and rereading David DeAngelo and Book of Pook was useless - getting girls was all I cared about, they all noticed, and whenever one decided to hop into bed with me, it was just me lucking out. I hated this and began to resent women. I did try to improve my results by approaching more often and going to the gym, but it was all about impressing them, it wasn't about helping myself. Due to this, I continued to get truckloads of first dates, and not a lot of second ones. (One-night stands were pretty cool, though.)

ROK and the Roosh V forums have been a combination of three of my passions - politics, history, and self-improvement. (Social isolation while abroad drove me to these forums full-time...being amongst American SJW students does that to you, and I'm a recovering National Review fan.) Lately I've begun to clean up my act and work on myself first - I may be in the second half of my 20s, but I'm consistently mistaken for 21. The beautiful women and bangs can wait for now.

I look forward to my 30s. Getting the body I want will be great, achieving financial stability will be relieving, and figuring out how to best implement my passions and talents in life will be delightful. Finally knowing what I'm doing with women, though - that's going to be the icing on the cake. I almost feel guilty that I care so much about chicks, but I guess you can't fight biology after a point.

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
Post-script to what I just wrote - girls aside, I sensed something deeply wrong with our culture and knew it wasn't just my imagination. Obama's re-election and the SJWs taking over campus (and cultural) discourse confirmed what I'd already sensed on some level back in 2009/2010.

I think my malaise was due to realizing that even if I did figure out how to game women, it was going to be an empty victory and I was still going to be deeply unsatisfied with my life.

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
I've been reading Roosh since the DC Bachelor days. Who's with me?
I've seen some major changes his mindset and attitude, which he's been very open about and has written about. The latest shift, which I'm sure you've all noticed also, is away from philosophy and back to pickup/realism, generally speaking.
I first googled "how to pick up chicks" or "how to get laid" or something like that. I did because I read in a book that you should 'always do your homework' in the authors words. The authors lesson was that no matter what in the world you want to be good at, there's someone out there who is a lot better at it than you. Experts have spent their entire lives learning how to be good at something, call it tricks of the trade, and you can learn their entire life's experience in a short time. It's a powerful lesson to take to heart and I still do contemplate it often. It's helped me immensely in my vocation as well, as a tradesman, and somewhat of a 'jack of all trades'.
That google search led me to Tony's layguide, one of the pioneers, and it also led me to Rooshs original blog.
