Why did you need to fix your life?
(This has been discussed in minor detail before, but I'm curious about taking a more detailed poll).

Why did you need to adopt the pick-up community/manosphere/red-pill/RooshV teachings on self improvement, life and women?

Everyone here is here for a reason. If your life was perfect, you wouldn't have joined a forum focused on self-betterment and getting laid more.

Here are some rough categories, but if you integrated RVF teachings or other Game into your life for another reason, please share it below.

(1) Was a hopeless average frustrated chump with little success in the women department and needed help becoming socially calibrated in order to stop failing at getting laid.

(2) Was a natural success with women, but wanted to get better results.

(3) I'm not interested in women who aren't an 8 or higher and am not interested in learning how to succeed with women of that caliber, but I enjoy participating in a community of men with red-pill perspectives.

(4) Other

I was definitely in category #1. Poorly socially calibrated and a failure with women. It wasn't until I found the broader pickup community that I actually started getting the honest self-betterment advice that my family and friends failed to give me my whole life.

I'm the King of Beijing!

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
(1) Had no confidence in myself what so ever because I am below average in height. Also I am kinda nerdy and, since young black males can be stereotyped as being a certain way i.e not educated/ghetto,people would often say I wasn't really black .

Also took very bad advice about women, from people I thought were my friends, and family members who did not know what they were talking about what so ever.

"It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, B to the rian. All that matters is that you beat the leprechauns."

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
I'm a pretty straight forward guy I always thought if I wasn't having success in something it was on me. Society(that includes my family) held up an image that seemed to be the way things were for the most part, no one around me told me otherwise and I used take most of what women said at face value. I wasn't having any luck with women, I was in a way because I had many "chances" where women would make themselves available to me, but I just didn't understand the indirect language, the signals none of that was known to me and I capitalized on few of those occasions, I was clueless. I remember at one point saying to myself "There's got to be a simpler way to do this.", it all seemed so complicated back then, at any step I could fail and get blown out and I didn't know what was going to work, what wouldn't, what I needed to do. No one around me could or would give me solid advice, I just wanted to get better, to "get this down" I had the looks I thought, what else do I need to get women into my life.

When I found game, people alluding to it anyway, I tried a few game tactics, nothing major. But I put a lot of effort to cultivate "inner game", everyone I discovered was living according to someone else's reality or their own and that realization impacted me in such a way that it changed my whole outlook on life. Now life is simpler with women, much simpler and I take it completely for granted. So to cut this short and answer the question I needed to find a simple easy way to bed beautiful women regularly. That's what made me work on game.

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
I joined after finding the forum following a Google search on "What to do when you feel stuck in life." Finding out how to talk to women was more of a bonus; I'd always been able to find girlfriends, but was never able to cut them lose. It was an endless cycle of serial monogamy where my life went to shit after every breakup. I would stop going to the gym, eat poorly, withdraw socially, etc. Anyway, the main reason I joined was because of the extensive travel knowledge, and on a deeper level, seeing the world for how it truly is. Game, travel, achieving physical fitness goals, these all fall under the category of living for yourself, which is what drew me in.

Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.

I would also fall under category 1, along with all men in my family. I don't want to blame anyone, my issues are my own fault, and of my own doing. I would never expect them to teach me anything of what I've learned here and I think it's a mistake to do so. The world is as it is, and does not owe us anything. All of us found these teachings of our own volition, imo that's what counts Smile

Mainly girls, but I also sensed that something is afoot with what my parents taught me and how reality responded to that blue pill behavior. These types of forums helped me put my finger on it.

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
I think I fixed my life before joining the community.

I read The Game and after that my success improved dramatically, then I just developed my own game. I had already moved abroad as a sexual refugee and had that part of my life sorted.

I mainly joined this forum for the travel section. Also to soak up time at my boring job.

I was doing pretty good with women before joing, but after a nasty LTR breakup, my game had suffered a lot and I needed to right back on track. Luckily, I found the right place. That was several years ago. Now I'm mainly here for travel and bankroll advise.

Wasn't getting laid in Korea.

Did some googling.

Ended up on Naughty Nomad forum, made a post and Dash Global directed me here

Then I never posted there again :-P

I'd done everything "Right" according to Blue Pill relationship experts. I never cheated, got drunk, gambled or abused my X in anyway, but still had my wife of 24 years dump me and the kids for some guy she met online.

I'm not really into obtaining a high number of notches (never have been, probably never will be), but I agree with a decent amount of what is believed in the manosphere. I dislike fat people, lazy people, and unmotivated people. I always have, and always will, get along with those focused on self improvement. I also am not fond of feminists. Women's rights is cool by me, but I will never be cool with feminists.

It's good to see guys like you having this resource. I was married 6 years and despite me checking off every box, she got more and more bored of me. I can't say I was alpha at all...ADD as shit, so-so at my job (went into the wrong field), etc. Luckily no kids. Finally my psychologist said to me "Well, you could get a divorce". I sat there wrestling with this idea for the next 1/2 hour, when I left his office it was my first red pill experience. I was over her, ignored her the rest of the week, and found her begging for my attention. Then I pissed her off when she flat out asked "are you thinking about a divorce".

6 months later we split up, she had a new boyfriend...and I heard about The Game which I read in a couple days. Divine Intervention sorta shit the way the timing worked out, hearing about pua less than a month after moving out. In my ol' church-goer playing in a praise-band teaching Sunday school days I would have said it was "all in God's time".

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
I read The Game and Mystery Method a long time ago. This was a good introduction to game, and I thought I understood why some guys were desired more than others. I had some decent success: a few plates at all times, solid confidence, and overall good things going for me.

About two years ago I got into my first long term relationship with a girl I was already hooking up with. Everything went downhill after that. PUA tactics only went so far, and these strategies usually ended with the lay. I had no clue what needed to be done to maintain peace in the relationship kingdom. The "alpha" in me who initially gamed her was now a full blue-pill sappy relationship beta. Years of social conditioning told me that this is the right thing. Things were in the shitter. She had the upper hand. Sex became irregular. I hit a rough spot in my life and became dependent on her for support.

I needed help. I started browsing reddit for relationship advice (terrible idea) to see what I was doing wrong, when I stumbled upon /r/theredpill. Everything changed from then on out. I understood why sex had fizzled out. Why I was jealous of the alpha friend she had who she obviously wanted to sleep with. Why she didn't treat me with the respect I needed, and finally, why I wasn't satisfied with my life. I am now her rock, her leader, and the man in the house. /r/theredpill lead me to all of the blogs, books, and finally RVF.

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
I found the proto-manosphere as far back as 2005, believe it or not. Back then it was Glenn Sacks' blog and other people whose names I've forgotten. I think one was Mark Rudow?

I had issues in my marriage, which I wrote out here but decided to delete. Bottom line is if you know you're right about something fight for it instead of just deferring to the other person, esp. if you're married to that other person. My problem was that I never considered my opinions valid, but hindsight has proven I was, in fact, right. I just needed the confidence you don't get from society, but can very well learn how to get in these parts.

I always end up learning things the hard way. I discovered this forum AFTER I did all of my hard work first of screwing up.

What's funny is, I used to be an avid poster on Sosuave and found myself lurking onto RvF from time to time between 2011 to the present.

I enjoy the Redpill community quite a bit. I'm working on getting some solid bank roll right now as well as being more active in my church. I enjoy the community.

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
Chose both options 1, and 2. I've always been socially savvy, and quite good with women, but there's always room for improvement. I also enjoy the "red pill" commentary and unconventional way of living life. I've always thought that there was something wrong with many aspects of society, mainly the women. Rooshv along with RoK has given me a WAY better understanding of not just game knowledge, but also the very nature of women.

However, I don't/haven't been posting much because I've been trying to get my shit together (bank roll, lifestyle, ect.). All in all I appreciate the vast amount of knowledge and experience this forum and members have to contribute. And will definitely use it to avoid many mistakes and downfalls many before me have suffered through.

This quote comes to mind: "A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him, how to avoid the mistake altogether." – Roy H. Williams

I was lucky enough to grow up with mentors in the business and fitness aspects of life.

The dating/relationship side, not so much. The work ethic and prior positive experiences from business/athletics made it pretty exciting to find this community and get some results on this side of my life

RE: Why did you need to fix your life?
With me it was #1. I was hopeless with women, felt like shit and I needed a lot of guidance. When I found the manosphere, I got exposed not only to the truth about women, but to the truth about many other life issues. This helped me a lot in honing my worldview and developing my masculinity.

But I still haven't found the answer to the following question: *Why* did I choose to abandon my ego and accept the fact that I was broken and need to work on my self? Because when I look around me, I see hordes of broken guys who are failures in life, just like I was. But instead of embracing manosphere wisdom when they get exposed to it, they decide it's better to bury their heads in sand. It could easily have been me as well, but there was obviously something in me that propelled me onward instead.

I've always known I was an attractive and desirable man (not trying to stroke my ego), but for some reason I was not getting the results with women that I wanted. It was nothing to do with red pill/blue pill, it was just that I literally knew nothing about attracting women and what made them tick. Game section on this forum is a lifechanger.

Did so, like Roosh did, and as a result, life went from "persistent suffering" to "pleasant on average".

Door #1.

Years of bad advice, 90's "girl power" and burgeoning third-wave misandry feminism messed up my wiring.
