RE: Ukraine conflict lounge
I currently enjoy a high standard of living in the US so I am not one to hope for it's downfall. However, given the current oil situation there is a possibility the Petro dollar could collapse much sooner than in a decade given the oil supply and OPEC/Russia maintaining output. The shale oil companies that spend big bucks fracking are concerned.

RE: Ukraine conflict lounge
Good article on the current battle going on between Ukraine's Oligarchs: http://www.bloombergview.com/articles/20...war-again-

Quote:Despite its pro-Western yearnings, Ukraine remains an oligarch-run country plundered for years by a small group of ruthless men. So far, the Ukrainian people have been unable to bring them down, choosing instead to back different sides in their disputes. That means last year's revolution isn't really over, and the best hope is for it to continue by peaceful means.

This article is obviously western-leaning but it gives a breakdown on the feud between oligarchs Poroshenko and Kolomoisky over who controls what and what their chosen method of attack is against the other.

RE: Ukraine conflict lounge
^^^^ The feud is escalating. Poroshenko (the prez, a jewish oligarch) recalled a couple of thousand soldiers from front to defend Kiev, while Kolomiisky (a governor of Dnepropetrovsk, another jewish oligarch) recalled a bunch of his own troops, including all Odessa personnel who were there to protect his buddy governor. Apparently following USA instructions the Rada just changed the corporate law to lower the voting majority from 60%+1 to 50%+1, and Poroshenko gained control of Kolomiisky's main cash cow: the Ukraine gas transportation company. So when Poroshenko tried to take control of the company HQ (replaced the boss, a protege of Kolomiisky with his own), Kolomiisky sent his armed squad to retake it and froze bank accounts of Prez' businesses (since K. owns the bank, the biggest in Ukraine). The US ambassador came to talk him out of the standoff and he sort of retreated, and also unblocked the bank accounts.

Now things are getting more interesting. Kolomiisky is pulling his pocket army back to Dnepropetrovsk and organizing anti-government protests in Dnepropetrovsk; on Wednesday there will be a gathering of "Veche" with the idea to declare the UA government as unfit to govern. Poroshenko on his part sent 2 battalions of National Guard to "ensure order" in the city. People are starting to talk about "Dnepropetrovsk Republic" now. Kolomiisky sort-of recognized DNR and LNR by saying "Though Ukraine doesn't recognize them, the republics happened and now they manage their own territory".

The next week should be very interesting. I hope Kolomiisky doesn't get quickly assassinated and we can enjoy the circus a while longer.

RE: Ukraine conflict lounge
"Do you think that the people who run the USA today realize that they are on a collision course with Russia which could lead to thermonuclear war? If yes, why would they take such a risk? Do they really believe that at the last moment Russian will “blink” and back down, or do they actually believe that they can win a nuclear war? Are they not afraid that in a nuclear conflagration with Russia they will lose everything they have, including their power and even their lives?

Paul Craig Roberts: I am as puzzled as much as you. I think Washington is lost in hubris and arrogance and is more or less insane. Also, there is belief that the US can win a nuclear war with Russia. There was an article in Foreign Affairs around 2005 or 2006 in which this conclusion was reached. The belief in the winnability of nuclear war has been boosted by faith in ABM defenses. The argument is that the US can hit Russia so hard in a preemptive first strike that Russia would not retaliate in fear of a second blow.

The Saker: How do you assess the current health of the Empire? For many years we have seen clear signs of decline, but there is still not visible collapse. Do you believe that such a collapse is inevitable and, if not, how could it be prevented? Will we see the day when the US Dollar suddenly become worthless or will another mechanism precipitate the collapse of this Empire?

Paul Craig Roberts: The US economy is hollowed out. There has been no real median family income growth for decades. Alan Greenspan as Fed Chairman used an expansion of consumer credit to take the place of the missing growth in consumer income, but the population is now too indebted to take on more. So there is nothing to drive the economy. So many manufacturing and tradable professional service jobs such as software engineering have been moved offshore that the middle class has shrunk. University graduates cannot get jobs that support an independent existence. So they can’t form households, buy houses, appliances and home furnishings."

"As far as I can tell from my many media interviews with the Russian media, there is no Russian awareness of the Wolfowitz Doctrine. Russians think that there is some kind of misunderstanding about Russian intentions. The Russian media does not understand that Russia is unacceptable, because Russia is not a US vassal. Russians believe all the Western bullshit about “freedom and democracy” and believe that they are short on both but making progress. In other words, Russians have no idea that they are targeted for destruction."

This is "the single most powerful person in the Ukraine right now.  This is the guy whose thugs burned well over 100 civilians alive in Odessa, this is the guy who paid for the downing of MH17, this is the guy who has three citizenships (in case he has to bug out) and he is the one who has no problems using his death squads not only in Odessa, but even in Kiev.  Interestingly, he has no problems insulting the US paid for “Radio Liberty” (which resulted in a protest for the US ambassador in Kiev).  Check out this  freak for yourself – this is the real “face of the Ukraine” (and sorry for the foul language)"

Looks like Kolomoisky surrendered due to clear US gov't support for Poroshenko. Probably will be revisited when Porky is weakened as Ukraine's collapse becomes more severe and Kiev's military gets its ass kicked again.

I don't know what you mean. Surrendered to who and for what?
Right now the American ambassador is trying to reason with him for freezing 50mil of Poroshenko's bank account. If anything Kolomoisky is very much in control of what he is doing atm.

I doubt that Porko is dumb enough to create one more problem for himself in this situation.

He definitely has support from the US for this move, otherwise he wouldn't dare antagonize an equal of himself in this fragile situation.

Kolomoisky definitely capitulated.

RE: Ukraine conflict lounge
I see a headline that Saudi Arabia will use 100 planes and 150,000 troops for an attack on Yemen. Well, if it's good for Saudi Arabia (according to the western world), surely it's good enough for Russia in Ukraine. Oh wait, nevermind. Silly me. Russia gets lambasted for sending in convoys of humanitarian aid.

Maybe Iran should activate some some shia rebellion in the Saudi oil fields area and escalates its presence in pushing IS out of Iraq in order to overwhelm Saudi Arabia with problems around and inside its borders. Essentially, kinda like the strategy the US hopes to use against Russia. Occupy Russia in Ukraine while the US causes problems in Georgia, Nagorno/Azerbaijan, Russian caucuses, NGO's in Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Some people think that after US support, a third round of fighting will lead to more ground lost by Kiev, and that the result will be the break of of NATO and the EU.

Imagine if Germany aligns to Russia. France would surely follow, Britain would have to straddle the middle, and even Japan and Korea might align more with China. Definitely Australia will be aligning with China.

This leaves the US alone, with maybe Israel.

Hope the neocons realize what they're doing.

It's almost impossible for continental western Europe to jump off the US ship anytime soon. At best they can push back a little in regards to sanctions. The US also put up a nice wall between Germany and Russia with the Baltics and Poland.

That Pepe Escobar is always talking about a German-Russian-Chinese alliance, but that would be a long way off.

One thing I think you're wrong on is with Japan and South Korea. It's natural for them to align with Russia, not China, as the US fades. Geography and history dictate that. Russia without an expansionist communist ideology isn't a threat to them (just like it isn't a threat to Europe, too).

Not sure if this was brought up yet (I bet it was), but Putin getting the better off the far more powerful Western countries led by Obama is a great example of an Alpha man vs Beta mangina game. Despite leading the weaker, poorer country, he gets the better of everyone by putting on a tight game worthy of an alpha male. The beta vocabulary and reactions from Obama will drive Putin's troops to the gates of Kiev.
I don't have a political opinion about him, but as a person, Putin embodies what alpha game can achieve. Look at any instance were you got a hot chick despite having less money, status and height than other guys out there. Why is she with you and not some richer better dressed moron? The reason is the Alpha game. Putin displays it best, hats off to him, he is the last conqueror.

Very interesting piece. 300 Americans sent to Lviv to train the Ukrainian army. 01:45 - 02:30 hilarious dialogue. Simon is pushing it hard to get a good reaction out of him.

Dispatch 107 is very interesting.
Texas is an idiot but KOT, the older gentlemen that begins speaking at 6:17 echoes much of what is discussed on this forum. Speaking directly on the takeover of Cultural Marxism in the west:
-The dumbing-down of future generations through the public education system
-Promoting fringe lifestyles as the norm on a mass scale
-All in an effort to control a growing population via means of subversion so that resistance is impossible

Russia really is the only country capable of resisting.

From 7:25 to 7:40...It came to my memory a quote from King Richard Longshanks in Braveheart:

"Not my gentle son. The mere sight of him would only encourage an enemy to take over the whole country. So whom do I send?"

Sounds like something Obama or a Pentagon Chief would say about these "instructors", girls and fat beta boys with teenager faces.

Seriously, if not for the money and technological mighty, with this kind of staff in the army and as instructors, the US empire is doomed.

I bet these hardened Ukranian guys would beat the "instructors" in 10 out of 10 drills, even with WW2 equipment.

It's obvious that this is a mere token force of inexperienced instructors. The comical thing is most of those guys are junior enlisted who have never served in combat. A lot of E-3's and E-4's (junior enlisted rank/Non NCO's) with no combat patches. Hell most of them are just out of basic training. I think it's hilarious that the veteran Ukrainian soldiers see through the bullshit.

Explained in such a calm and beautiful way.

Really contrasting with the beginning of the interview where the Vice journalist keep pushing his opinion instead of simply listening.

Unfortunately I stopped watching Vice for reasons like this not so long ago. I believe Roosh talked about the turn they took on his twitter too.
