There not directly linked (like using the same user account for all three, similar how you need separate accounts for Facebook and Instagram). Smart strategy, ease people into online dating with Tinder, they move into OKC's freemium model and then proceed into match.com's subscription once they are older. Trifecta.

"As detailed in an August Bloomberg Businessweek story, Tinder fashions itself as a startup, but it’s actually part of IAC/InterActiveCorp’s (IACI) dating division, called the Match Group. IAC plans to turn the Match Group into a separate business that may ultimately be spun off as a public company, and IAC regards Tinder as a kind of gateway drug to get smartphone-toting millennials hooked on digital dating, which they’ll eventually pay for."

In other words:
Get hot young chicks addicted to effortless dating and constant attention. Then turn around and sell them the promise of continued access to cheap attention as they start to hit the wall.

It's changed a lot since I was using last summer.

Basically, I say forget it unless you're in a girl's age range and you're hot. Otherwise, you're better off hitting cold approaches... with great presence, body language and game. The Internet makes people lazy, shit like this is your clue to hustle.

Appreciate the compliment. A few factors are at play here, I never swipe left and am in a city with tens of thousands of women on online dating, probably tinders biggest market. Plus I've been on it over a year and put up the best possible pics I have. I hear you though, at the end of the day online is about pipelining 5's who look like 7's in their pics, and this hasn't changed at all.

RE: Assessing the Impact of Tinder
I think it's crap. It has the premise of guy likes girl, girl likes guy and they meet to hook up or date. When in reality guys will select most if not all the women on there with hopes of getting laid. It's a numbers game right?

Really it's just a male meat market where women can do their online shopping. Nothing more.

Just put your best photos up and let them contact you. Any chic that doesn't contact you first will very likely flake anyway.

The percentage is low. I keep deleting/resetting my Tinder account so I don't know how many total matches I've had. I'm going to not reset for a while and see what happens. Right now I got 18 in there. Let me see if I can break it down. I'll add two before the reset so let's just say a total of 20.

Meetups:

Girl 1 - Met up with, banged. late 20s, cute but really really thin.
Girl 2 - Met up with, makeout. Still communicate through text supposed to hang out next weekend. 30s, good looking, fitness competition chick, but obvious carousel rider looking to settle down.

The Rest:

Didn't contact yet - 8/18
Initiated convo, got no response - 2/18
Convo's still on going 8/18
Girls who contacted me first who weren't bots. 1/18 - She lived too far away.

Out of the convos still going on:

Lost in oblivion as in she never responded back or balked at the cell # request - 8/8 so all of them.

I've been trying to get their numbers before going for a meetup. Maybe I'll try just doing for a meetup straight from the app, I don't think this will work unless she's in close proximity and out, but only experiment will tell.

So basically the odds are low. I think that luck and timing have to really be on your side(nothing new here.) It seems Tinder heats up on weekends or on days when girls are bored. Ideally you find a girl who's close, finds you interesting, and is willing to meetup quickly. I can see banging at least 1 girl a month off this of varying quality.

Your game has to be airtight, flawless. You also have to be good looking. It's unreasonable. I don't bother swiping any girl right if she has nothing written in her bio, or she only links her instagram feed. If that's all she has, it means she's been coasting on her looks alone and isn't willing to work for my attention.

I'm a decent looking guy, and I have what I consider a clever albeit niche bio. It's written in the style of a 19th century personal ad. Yes, few chicks will get it, but the kind who do are the only ones I'd be interested in anyway. I think. Who knows.

Re: luck when initiating, I'll give you my stats.

Profiles swiped right: I'd guess it's 100.
Matches: 9
With whom I've bantered: 3
Women with whom I've stopped contact: 1
Women who've cut contact with me: 1
Phone numbers procured: 1, today. We'll see how that goes.

Is it worth it? I don't know. I swipe instead of wasting time on my phone some other way. Maybe I'll meet my future wife on Tinder.

RE: Assessing the Impact of Tinder
London based male, 26 years old. Work in technology, I'd say I dress well but I'm not "classically' good looking. I work out 3x a week, I try to eat right (difficult when clients invite you to fancy dinners)

Here's my tinder matches over the past 3 months Dec-Feb:

250 matches

25 phone numbers

5 bangs (2% shag rate)

Conclusion: Far too much effort, very low reward.

Most of the girls I meet from Tinder I message first. I keep things simple and send the same opener to every girl on there (a hipster joke). If they reply I'll just have a quick back and forth before getting the number, and obviously some girls will fall off somewhere in that process.

The one girl I banged from the app did hit me up first, so I think there is some credence to your claim. If I were you I'd just use some copy paste opener that works well so you save yourself time and cast the widest net possible.

RE: Assessing the Impact of Tinder
So far tinder has a 0% conversation rate for me, despite the fact the majority of the girls I swipe right have swiped me right.

The reason being, I have no patience for texting. Girls have zero investment on Tinder. I'm used to online game and texting with girls I've met in person, both of which mean getting to face to face as quickly as possible. Because girls on Tinder know nothing about you they want to have a conversation. With you thumbs. No.

If I could figure out how to copy and paste openers on Andriod, I'd attempt this. Otherwise, I'm just telling a large mass of women I'm available for a fuck anytime, and giving them options/attention in return for nothing.

I've also noticed the aggressive cocky openers that work in other online mediums seem to blow up on Tinder, but that may just be my area.

If I could, I'd write a script that copy pastas openers in response to girls, and asks for a phone number. Basically a bot to play tinder for me. It'd even introduce itself as my personal andriod secretary just to be funny. If any girl asked me about it, I'd be totally upfront and tell them I have a computer that plays tinder for me, because I have a lot of important binge watching HBO shows to do instead of validating their pretty asses.

EDIT: Sidenote - I'm serious about that script. I've seen bots on tinder - fake hot girls who ask you to sign up for a website. If someone wrote a script I could use, I'd use it.

There are some emulators on the internet, that allow you to run the smartphone Apps on your computer --> copy paste very likely to work in that case.
I believe some have been posted here. Use the search function to find them.

Runsonmagic, I don't know what Android phone you use, but I own a Nexus and have no problems with copy paste. Try holding down your finger over the message you want to copy in the Tinder app, and see if the phone acknowledges it and copies it. Subsequently, you can press and hold your finger in the blank message box and a "paste" icon should come up that allows you to enter the copied text. Not sure if this works differently on different models of Android phones, but it should be worth a try.

These days I feel like a lot of my online game is basically just scripted conversations. I stick to a formula of messages that works and don't really stray from that unless the girl asks me more specific questions. Seems to work pretty well on Tinder and OkCupid.

NPR just did a piece on it yesterday. Pretty much confirms everything said above 100%, as far as I can see.

It was copied from an app for gay hookups which I wasn't aware of.

Yes it came from Grindr which is a gay fuckfest. A friend of mine used to live with a man who used Grindr, he'd have several hook-ups a day and a few threesomes thrown in here and there.

When I heard of Tinder being the heterosexual version, I looked into it. I didn't join as I deleted my Facebook owing to its sinister growth.

This means that two things from the homosexual world are influencing modern women: Sex in the City (based on the NYC gay scene) and Grinder.

As usual, 80% of the sexually active women on Tinder will be meeting only 20% of the men. It remains to be seen if the 80% of men will want to end up with these women once the women start looking for Mr Big.
