Got my first dancefloor makeout from a blonde girl. She grinded me for a bout 20 minutes and we made out several times, and then for some reason she suddenly ran away.

Anyway, some lessons I've realized:

1. At the end of the day, women are the selectors. Women will disqualify men for any number of arbitrary reasons. Therefore men can only protect themselves by approaching as many women as possible.

2. This was my first time staying until closing at a club. The guys who ended up with a girl were neither the best dancers, the best gamers, nor the best looking. They happened to approach the right girl that accepted them.

3. 6 shots of vodka takes away all approach anxiety and fear of rejection from me.

Edtf, did you ever try to take it a step further with the make out girl? Perhaps you did but if not, she might have thought of you as a wimp not asking her to go home (or wherever there is some privacy) with you or at least alluding that was on the agenda.

I actually didnt. I spun her around and told her she was sexy, and then she turned back around and grinded me for another minute, then suddenly ran away.

The black model girl asked me to meet for drinks on next friday, so I'll follow up with her on thursday or friday to confirm.

I was more thinking about rather ask her to go home with you before she might get cold feet. Chasing her down? If you can do that without being seen as a semi stalker then why not but she might not know why she got the feeling to run away. Some girls have been surprisingly candid though as to why they "nexted" me without me even asking but I guess that such candidness is quite rare.

Hi EDTF,

Just want to say that this post is fantastic - I guess that now you have "committed" yourself, you are more likely to put in the effort. (I like that idea). I am taking some great advice from both yourself, and all those who have replied.

Being 26, and in 2 x long term relationships for the last 8 years in total, since age 18, the approach situation I have found to be very difficult over the last 6 months or so.

Forums like this really help me. Thanks to the posters, and to Rooshv for starting this.

Guys, I was in a tricky situation today and wanted to ask your advice.

I was at the gym, and while passing the running track to the weight room, a really cute black girl runs past me. We lock eyes for a moment, she looks away, and she turns her head and looks back at me as she keeps running. I figure, damn... oh well. I head down to the weight room and start doing my reps. 10 minutes later, she comes downstairs, and stands 1 machine across from me. She texts on her phone, looks at me, and goes back to texting. I figure, damn OK i have to do something. I walk towards her, and then before I say anything she says "Hey, is anyone using this machine?" I say "No, I don't think so" I ask her if she wants to switch sets with me, and she says yes.

Then it turns out another guy was still using the squat rack. He immediately starts showing interest in the girl, asking her what school she goes to, what she studies, etc. She responds lukewarmly, as in giving him responses, but not asking him back. The 3 of us rotate sets, and I can tell the dude is obviously staying for more sets because he's into the girl. He starts teaching her how to do squats and giving her tips, and correcting her posture. Basically at this point I think that any attempt on me escalating with her is going to end up degenerating into a pissing contest with the guy. I watch, and eventually switch to another machine. The dude is now standing behind her, bending down with her, and putting both his hands on her waist. She feels uncomfortable and quickly walks away.

Basically, what I think is that the guy escalated way too rapidly and scared the cat away. In this situation, what would you have done in order to both handle the aggressive guy while gaming the girl?

After you were getting those IOI's immediately, you should have approached. I personally rarely approach in the gym but if its something as obvious as what you are describing, I would have taken advantage. Don't try to correct a girl's form or teach her something at the gym if she does not ask for it. You'll look like a huge douche trying to do so (i.e. the guy on the squat rack). After she bailed, I would have tried to meet up with her somewhere else in the gym and start the conversation off with making fun of the dude at the rack.

Yeah thats right. Should approach immediately if IOI's are given. That would have avoided the whole fiasco. Thanks for your input.

Its a learning process. I didn't really start noticing those kinds of IOI's until I started reading the forum. I was like a lost puppy when it came to approaching so I know how you feel. Just keep chugging along.

Update today.

Texted the model girl yesterday a location for drinks, and she confirmed. I accidentally show up 15 minutes late, and she doesn't complain, she's happy to see me and gives me a big hug. Unfortunately the bar we met at is closed for some unknown reason. She asks if I've eaten yet and she mentions she's a little hungry. I suggest we bounce and get some barbeque, and we cab it over. While eating have a very deep conversation about philosophy and religion (damn this girl's smart!) and a whole bunch of random topics. She calls me out on my sarcasm and wit several times, saying she doesn't like it, but smiling and playfully hitting me, so I take it as a good sign.
I take the check for dinner, and she mentions some nightclubs nearby and asks if I want to check them out.We head over, and we enter one place and the girl knows pretty much all the staff. She buys us a round of drinks, and we get hooked up with free fruit, and several rounds of shots courtesy of the owner. We talk for a good 30 minutes more, and my arm is attached firmly around her waist. She asks if I want to go dance, and I say yes. We hit the dance floor of another place, but its pretty dead, the 2 of us are the only ones dancing, and the floor is surrounded by wallflower dudes. Damn, this kills the atmosphere, and we go to the bar for another round of drinks. We flirt some more and then she says that its 3am, so she needs to get to work tomorrow. We take the subway back together, and she rests her head on my shoulder. I hint that I'm interested in staying at her place, but she mentions that she has friends over, damn. I get off at my stop, we kiss, and I go on my way. Back home, she texts me saying she had a great time and wishes that I get home safe.


The old me would have been overjoyed at such a result. But for some reason, anything short of the bang doesn't do it for the new me.

Should have escalated while you were at the club. Sounded like she was pretty into you. She definitely did not have friends over at 3am...could have been her roommates but not friends. Call her out on it next time. Other than that, keep up the good work man.

Woah dude i'm pretty much a keyboard jockey as well and although I have nothing to contribute here, I just wanna say thanks for the motivation man and I think i'm gonna adopt your 1 approach a day mentality and record it in a journal as well.
