That article is mind blowing, its crazy to see what some of the greasy foreign dudes get on with in SE Asia, its one of the reasons that I prefer Colombia. It sounds crazy but SE Asia is almost "too safe" and the local culture too permissive of this sort of behaviour, if those idiots came to Colombia and tried pulling stunts like that, they'd be fucked. Most of the gringos I meet down here are well behaved and although sex tourism definitely thrives here, its nowhere near as "in your face" as it is over there.

I will never understand why SEA gets so much attention on here. The place attracts the absolute dregs of humanity. I have hedonistic leanings but what my fellow westerners do out there make me looks like a choir boy.

Just out of curiousity..Any other reasons why you prefer SA over SEA?
I'm currently planning a SA trip so it would be interesting to hear your opinions.
Been in SEA several times but never made it to SA.

I like both places really and will definitely return to Thailand and the Philippines, mostly for the excellent diving, beautiful beaches and training Muay Thai. As for South America and Colombia in particular, I really enjoy learning Spanish and I find it to be a very rewarding experience to communicate with the locals in their own language, something that is very hard to do in SEA (outside of the Philippines). I also like dancing, although I've been slacking on the salsa, that's another thing I look forward to improving in the coming years, dancing isn't very popular in SEA.

For girls, I spent seven months in SEA and never really connected well with the women there and am just not into Asian women although I can see how some guys are. Colombian women are pretty damn hot and I basically walk around with a boner all day here, as I type this I have a very cute, tight bodied 18 year old black chick laying in my bed watching telenovelas, the one I hooked up with on a bus a few posts ago. There's so much diversity in the women here, from black girls who look like they're straight out of Africa, to your classic Latina look, some very light skinned ones who are basically pure European blooded, mixed race morenas and native looking girls. Then you have the body types, most are short on average but there are some tall ones, you have very petite, thin women here, just like in SEA but then you have those giant Colombian asses which you'll never see in Asia, of course you also have cartoonish fake T and A, its hilarious.

Different strokes for different folks I guess, in Colombia you basically have to speak Spanish and that's a major commitment for a lot of guys, its also way more dangerous and I can see why some guys wouldn't want to take that risk. Oh ya, the flakiness is unreal and Medellin is the the worst (although its a nice city, I really like it), I basically had a mini-meltdown after dealing with the Paisas, you don't have to deal with that BS in SEA.

One thing I will say about SEA and Thailand in particular is that it excels in non-pussy related activities and is very well organized, cheap and relatively good infrastructure. In places such as Chiang Mai or Phuket, you can wake up every day, go to the front desk of your hotel and tell them "I want to go fishing, hiking, zip lining, kayaking, etc", they make a phone call and someone picks you up and you're gone for the entire day, for $30-80, including lunch then they take you back, its so easy. Its not so well developed in Colombia. I could see a guy coming to Colombia for a couple of weeks and not having a good time and maybe not even getting laid, it can be frustrating here, especially if you don't have decent Spanish and especially if you rely on online game.

Overall, I think that SEA is really good for a short or holiday, you will definitely have fun and its very likely you'll get laid (especially in the Philippines), it is also good as a long term option for certain types of guys, as we can see by the amount of dudes living there long term. Colombia isn't very good for a short term holiday but I think it is a great long term option and there's a damn good chance I will be spending a lot more time here in the future.

Colombian bar fight: I was out boozing a few nights ago in Cali with RVF member Freddy1 and we met up with two American guys who live in Medellin, so we all rolled out together to the club area called Menga. These guys were all new to Cali, so I suggested that we hit up Cafe Mi Tierra, a decent spot with a big outdoor area, its easier to meet and mingle here than the other table oriented big salsa clubs in Menga. The club wasn't full as its post Feria, but there's a decent amount of people so we pick a table outside and order a bottle of rum.

About five seconds after the waitress sets the bottle down, two guys rush the table in front of us (there were two guys and three girls at the table) and start punching the guys who were sitting there. I"m not sure what happened next but the table was overturned, more people joined the fight and chairs and glasses were being thrown. I never stick around for fights, especially in Colombia, so I instinctively grabbed the bottle and ran the fuck out out of the club while covering my face with my arm in case a bottle came flying my way. Security was so concerned about the fight, they didn't say anything about me, a random gringo, running out with a full bottle of rum.

I wait in the parking lot and Freddy1 comes out and I ask him where the other guys are, he says that they want to stick around (one of them was talking to a girl inside) and I say fuck that, no way am I staying there, who knows what those idiots will do. Some of you may remember this story from a couple of months ago, where a club in Cali got shot up, these fuckers don't fight with fists down here.

Anyway, the other guys came out after we called them and one of them was complaining that he didn't want to leave, but eventually we persuaded them to come. After the fight stopped the waitress asked one of the guys where the bottle was and he told her that I ran out with it when the fight started, she was cool and just asked him to pay 20K Pesos, which was a quarter of the price. So we got a cheap bottle of rum out of the deal and didn't get shot or stabbed, the rest of the night pretty much sucked though.

I've got a job offer in.....Pristina, Kosovo.

I'm probably one of the few members who has actually been to the place, but granted it was for all of 24 hours and it was over 3 years ago. I could use a little bit of information to help inform my decision.

Think a good enough salary to live centrally, go out to the bar twice a week, dinner a few times a week and on a couple dates each week. Money really isn't the issue as much as overall quality of life.

One thing I do know is that Pristina is the youngest city in Europe and one of the youngest in the world. Average age is just over 25.

Any info on the forum or via PM is appreciated in the next couple of weeks.

I have delightful memories from Pristina even if I only visited the city for a few days.
It was in the end of ramadan so they had some big festival going on in a park a little bit outside the city.

Friendly locals, cheap beer and weed, tasty food and a reasonable amount of pretty women. I'm sure that Pristina will be a kickass place towork in for a while.
Locals really like Americans and also Finns because Bill Clinton and Finnish President Ahtisaari were playing a keyroll in the Kosovo-Serbian conflict and established peace in the region.

Hell, they even got a big statue of Bill Clinton there.

How would you rate the talent in Cambodia VS Vietnam? From my understanding, Vietnamese are better looking, take better care of themselves as they have better acces to things. Plus HCM is turning into a major hub for people building biz online as its cheap yet faders high quality value lie BKK but without the craziness and wilderness of BKK? What were your impressions of HCM and Vietnam overall? And the girls?

I don't think there's ever been a question that Vietnamese women are hotter. Quite likely the hottest women in Southeast Asia, by many accounts.

And Cambodia is hardly known for quality.

As I've mentioned before, you can find good-looking women here, as you can in any country in the world, but there's certainly not an abundance of them. Too much poverty. It's the type of place you're better off with a local girlfriend if you're going to be around for a while - because with that type of situation, all it matters is how hot the woman you're with is, not the selection overall.

A guy who wants to live a playboy life with lots of options and/or turnover is obviously much better off somewhere else.

In Sukhumvit Soi 4, right across the street from the major hospital whose name escapes me at the moment, is the Japanese embassy. Try to see if they might need any of your services and report back. I stayed in a hotel there for 2 months and was seeing a ton of Japanese talent strolling back there.

I might go check the talent out. I walked around Korea town a few weeks ago but it was just restaurants. Didn't seem to be many Koreans about. (Though I could go back for a Bibimbap and some Kimchi. I love Korean food).

It was a legitimate job that I got paid for. Lasted a month. A sweet little 18 year old cosmetics manager needed to brush up on her English. She was in need of a big, strong, handsome farang to help her. Luckily for her, I was available.

Ok, she wasn't so sweet and innocent, she's kind of a slut, but that's what makes her fun....and the fact that she's a teenager.
