It's all good, Vietnamese love giving an A for effort when speaking their language. You could completely butcher the simplest greeting and they would still say you speak like a native.

I went to a restaurant with a group of 10 or so expats and a few of them spoke semi-fluent Vietnamese. We had Viet dudes coming over to the table to see "these white guys that spoke Vietnamese" and introducing them to their female friends/girlfriends/sisters. These guys enjoyed near rockstar status.

We understood she was both devastated and nervous about traveling alone, but she should absolutely let his jerk move ruin this opportunity for her. It was one she might never get again. Frequent travelers I could use some help...


I was looking to buy flights from City A to City C. 100% of the flights have a layover in City B.

Instead of waiting at the airport for a few hours and then boarding my flight to City C, I figured why not spend the night in City B, book a cheap hotel, run some tourist game, and then fly to City C the next day. So my "layover" would be a "lay over."

Win-win situation.

When I try to book this as a multi-city trip, the cost is hundreds of dollars more. Is there any way to avoid this?

^^I am going to west palm beach for a wedding in a couple of weeks so I was looking at either buying a ticket or using my rewards. I ended up using points but I exhausted all options in terms of just paying for my flight.

So from Dtw to pbi it was 350 with one stop on my main airline. Here were my options and prices..
Fly from Dtw to iAd for 90 and then iAd to pbi for 200..not bad but that doesn't include baggage fees
I also thought about flying to IAD and then flying to Miami or fll and then renting a car to drive up to west palm beach (3ish hours). Not a bad idea as I do want some sort of transportation while I'm there but the price wasn't much cheaper. I checked if there was some sort of public transportation or train but I decided against that.

Those are the only two options I could think of at the moment in your case. Just remember that you can fed ex or UPS your luggage to the location of your choice. Just ask for a return label for the luggage when you depart and have your hotel or someone drop off your luggage when it's time to go.
