Both. Speaking from personal experience, during those several years I was with that girl, it was constantly being jammed down my throat, I just didn't know any better. Well, at least he was right about one thing.

It's a big shit test. You can call her out and be like "Wow that's a lot of info for a first date What ever happened to class and ladyness?" (I recently sent that to a girl who was texting me about some guy she thought was hot).

If a girl has willfully allowed the conversation to be sexualized, and is willing to talk about her sex past, that means that she's got sex on the mind and either see's you as a potential partner or another friend to talk about sex with.

I didn't read the story carefully with my bullshit meter on. What I can tell you is that this type of scenario plays itself out all over America (and probably all over the world for that matter, I can only really speak of the states) all day, every day.
