It's never too late to reinvent yourself. Props to Tyson for taking the gigs he can, and continuing to be an earner. Good for him.
At some point, you have to own your tragedies. Nothing wrong with exploiting yourself and putting it all out there.
Mike owes the IRS so much money that he's not going to make much from these little shows. But I like to see old warriors staying the course and keeping in the game.

I met him once, at Amsterdam Schipol airport. This was about 7 years ago. I knew some of his lawyers, so I introduced myself. We talked about an article in Esquire about the books he had read in prison. He was cool.

He's a pretty intelligent guy who got caught growing up in a bad environment and for the most part made the best of it and dodged a bout of self-destruction.

Spike Lee did a great job with the directing of the show. It is clear that alot of thought went into the production.

That was really good, thanks again Teedub for the link. Just finished watching it while waiting for the newest Eastbound & Down to get uploaded.

I liked that he brought up the false rape claim before he got convicted, I've always felt like that's a part of the story that is barely ever acknowledged or known.

More D'Amato anecdotes are always enjoyable as well.

It was not long enough. I felt like there are still hours of classic stories that would be entertaining to hear.

I am pissed off that my school's boxing club is not allowed to hit each other. Should I still join it? It just seems like bullshit. And like mech said I need to learn how to throw a punch.

Too many good things to say about it. It makes you wonder.

How would you present your life if you was on stage?

Would you try to make people laugh? Would you inspire them? Do you have enough memories and experiences that can be entertaining to talk about?

He didn't intend for it to be funny, but he found that audiences laughed more than expected so altered the format slightly. One thing that annoys me about audiences (especially American ones, sorry guys) is that they feel the need to laugh at EVERYTHING a famous person says, if that person is deemed to be somewhat humorous. It's beginning to happen over here too, and it ruins poignant moments in interviews etc. Guess it's important to remind ourselves that 90 percent of people are idiots.

I am about 20 minutes in and trying to enjoy it but I just am having trouble understanding him. as for what the audience is laughing at, I don't really think any of it was funny. But i guess if someone paid money to listen to mike tyson do a one man show, they must have already been fans of his and like him so they think they are supposed to laugh, and after they are laughing for a while, they just get used to laughing.
