Man you guys are so right. I think it's time to ditch my suit in my online dating photos. (Yes, I fux with online dating primarily) It's probably why I keep getting provider hungry bishes! It never really dawned on me till now. I went from a blue (technical) collar to a white (professional) collar career so I guess I've been so psyched with my achievement an upward mobility that I've been wearing that shit like a badge. Bishes have no idea I went from climbing telephones poles to negotiating 7 figure deals, they just see the latter and lump me in with everyone else in that group.

Yeah, a man 30+ in nice suit and a tie attracts provider seeking females like honey attracts bees. Also, younger girls might perceive a suited guy as less fun.

Get yourself pictures for online and walk around city in a high quality, well-fitted leather jacket but not overly expensive. Whereas girls can't tell the brand on average, they see some nuances.

Myself, I can easily tell if a guy wears a cheap faux leather jacket or something better. Get one which is not necessarily black (even better, get two: a black and other colour - navy blue, grey). Fitted, dark trousers, a bit washed-out dark grey or black. Contrastive to the jacket fitted v-neck tee or shirt (can be floral). Leather, suede or nubuck dark shoes/boots. This style will automatically make you look mature, though youthful. Depending on impression you want, you can adjust to signal either provider or lover mode. E.g., leather jacket with nice, unbuttoned collar shirt, more towards provider, whereas deep v-neck with some pattern, lover, cleaner, uniformly coloured trousers, provider, washed out, a bit ripped here and there, lover. Etc.

I don’t ever give up. I mean, I’d have to be dead or completely incapacitated.

A great line of clothing is AllSaints.

http://www.allsaints.com

Another fashion label is John Varvatos.

http://www.johnvarvatos.com

Both of these designers make edgy clothing, but they are not cheap. I tend to source the cheaper version on ASOS.com.

A good leather jacket does wonders for a guy, a bad looking one does the complete opposite. I saw a really nice one at Topman recently, still kicking myself for not grabbing it.

I talk more about dressing on my blog, if you care to read. I think it is time for another article.

I've had a total of 5 girls now tell me that the age difference would be too great, At least one of them said she would have dated me had I been younger

In the last week I've been approaching younger sets, i.e. girls from 18 to 25, and it's clear from the body language that many of them are happy about me opening them.

Do you have any advice as to how I could persuade a girl, who is sexually attracted to me, to completely ignore the age difference?

I opened a girl yesterday on campus here and she was clearly into me....
but when I asked her out, she said that the age difference was just too big a deal for her. Is there any way in which I can sidestep this issue?

Feld,

Quit asking these younger girls on dates! Ask her when she wants
to come by and have wine with you? Give her a chance to pull back the
curtain on YOUR world.. Let her see how an older, experienced, mature man
lives his life. She is dying to know.

She isn't seeing any of that from Biff at the frat-house!

Puts her guard down that she might be judged by any of her immature friends.
Younger women will resist doing what they want to do, if they think they will
be called out by their social circles.

Give her the means to experience what she is curious about. YOU! If she is already showing interest, this is the BEST way to move things along.

You won't get them all, but the ones you do are ready to blossom under
your tutelage.

And stop about the age difference. Time for a re-frame. If you think this way,
even subconsciously, you will project this through your vibe. Girls have fucking
super radar for that shit... It will kill you brother.

No bad will at all. Focus. Re-Frame. Succeed.

RE: Older Guys (40+)
This thread continues to rock, thanks brothers!

I've got to step up my style, thanks for the tips rudebwoy. Also, I like your stages J_S. Just a quick status update on my journey into becoming the best version of myself in my early 40s. The changes I've made that have made a BIG difference in my quality of life are:

#1 Getting to sleep earlier. The info from Lizard of Oz on light box therapy is awesome, got to have a healthy circadian rhythm or you're just not recovering from your day.

#2 not overdoing a workout and making sure I allow time for recovery. I'm turning 43 this year and have been careful about lifting hard / heavy. I won't quote my 'max rep' numbers because I don't want to damage myself. I'd rather focus on daily outdoor cardio (a brisk walk with sprints mixed in for HGH production) and more reps / less weight IIRC aka pyramid stack workouts so I fatigue the fast twitch muscles before working the slow twitch (hat tip to Art de Vany for that). I only lift a few days a week while I get walks / cardio in nearly every day.

#4 after working out I get 'grounded', and sleep with a grounding strap on my wrist. Earthing or grounding is REALLY important as part of workout recovery (balancing inflammation response with free electrons from the earth). Look it up, it works and it's IMPORTANT! You can also ground for ~15 min when you travel to a new place a few (or many) time zones away to help reduce or prevent jet lag. Pretty amazing recoveries of people with debilitating conditions when they earth. Check out the documentary 'Grounded' from earthing.com.

#5 cutting out ALL gluten, soy, diary, and coffee (only occasional de-caf), while also minimizing refined sugars in favor of whole fruits, occasionally maple syrup and raw honey in a protein shake. Oh, and I really am careful about phytates. I'm blood type O which from the Blood Type diet site/book is not supposed to have any of the above. I also watch how my body responds to various fruits and being aware of FODMAPS (foods / fruits that can ferment in your digestive tract). Can't do melons, I avoid beans both for phytates and gas. Everyone can tailor their diet to their needs but you gotta pay attention to how your food affects you. I definitely noticed I had to cinch up my belt a couple more notches a month into the 'no gluten, no dairy, no soy' commitment. I also find I

#6 intermittent (-ish) fasting, generally planning to wait at least 10 and preferably 12 hours between dinner and first meal the next day. I'm still tweaking this and it varies daily but I always make it 3-4 medium-boiled eggs, lots of garlic salt (with iodine, very important) a few other spices and sometimes a few slices of nitrate/preservative-free pastrami. I try to keep my carbs toward the evening meal. I take the majority of my supps in the morning after that meal (minus the evening ZMA / magnesium / calcium / MSM). I drink a lot of water and with the Simply One male multi-vitamin, I'm still peeing a bit yellow throughout the day but that's fine - whatever I need is being absorbed. I want to make sure my system is more fat-adapted which I believe I am now, so I can metabolize the fat stored in adipose tissue instead of storing it and depending upon carbs. Again, everyone is different, but a delay meal and not having carbs first thing helps my mental clarity and maintains a natural, calm yet productive energy level without needing stimulation (like from coffee). Intermittent fasting is also a crucial part of longevity which is what I'm working on. The concept of 'biological immortality' caught my attention and it suggests that once in your 30s and 40s a Paleo diet is really best for men.

#7 getting my supplementation on point. I had labs done two years ago which helped realize I had low T (just under 200 ng/dL IIRC units correctly). I made a commitment to losing weight by diet first then sleep then exercise and proper supplementation. There's a lot of research to do, but I find that 600 mcg of selenium a day works great to stay health (great video about the crucial importance of selenium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV-upp1YSBI). I'm watching my uncle struggle with stage 4 liver cancer after decades as a type 2 diabetic. He's a fighter and wants to live but all this would have been much easier (or prevented) if he'd made changes years ago. Watching someone you love suffer so badly is a damn good reminder of why we do what we do. I was aware of Andrew / The Private Man and felt inspired to really savor my life, both to enjoy and give back to others. BTW, I was recommended to use MSM (powder form) and the stuff REALLY works better than glucosamine/chondroitin at repairing / preventing aches and pains. I mix 1/2 teaspoon in my nightly magnesium calm and it helps me sleep like a baby. Oh, and I toss back 2-3 ZMA every night before bed, thanks to this forum for that recommendation too. I wake up feeling good and ready to go! I haven't done labs but will pretty soon, curious to see how it all looks.

#8 I listen to music from my teens/20s more than anything 'new', which I've read helps you feel younger and was demonstrated in elderly studies. I also just like the classic stuff, from Zeppelin to Paul Oakenfold to Beethoven to Beastie Boys. I like to sing along and even dance sometimes in my work space. I leave my shop with a smile so when I engage with people I generally feel neutral to positive.

#9 I guard what I put into my eyes and mind, whether from inside or out. With the environment so anti-male it's essential to stay upbeat, connect with your soul, stay with your passion, and let your life be a testament to your determination and joy and gratitude for this gift of life. I avoid most TV, only watch some shows on Netflix, and prefer to read the forum for news, a book (like 'Art of the Deal'), watch documentaries, or a classic movie that shows strong male characters.

#10 I'm going to be relocating from CA to somewhere in TX fairly soon, hopefully before the end of the year. That change is something I need and am ready for. We all need a campaign, this is one of the big ones for me this year as I've never lived more than 30 miles from the bulk of my family. Do one thing every few years that scares and excites you - I can't wait to be in even better shape, with stories and getting looks from cute college girls. It's already happening here but the majority have blue hair!

Thanks again for the motivation and support. I'm happy to share info via PM esp. regarding supplementation. Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one and life is full of surprises but if we challenge and maintain our bodies we're more prepared for what arises.

^^ What have you been doing about the Low T?

I've been on the TRT gel for about a month and outside of morning woodies returning, I'm not all that sure it has fully kicked in yet.

Mixed reviews on the gel. Seems messy too. 50mg of prop eod will get many men right, i.e. top end of physiological free test range.

This gel is available as prescription only ? Any special brand you recommend ?

When you go to make the blood test you ask only for testosterone or there's other stuff to check?
Want to take blood tests now and in two months to see the impact on starting training 6xweek training plus supplementing .
Thanks

Vuel, I'm hardly an expert but prior to getting on TRT some guys try (1) natural, such as improved nutrition and rest, DHEA, maca, exercise, etc., (2) Clomid, which is a prescription drug in the U.S. which can stimumlate natural T production, although some guys have to take it with an estrogen blocker.

Any particular reason why you're cutting out coffee? I was toying with the idea myself but man...it's going to be hard to do. I only limit myself to 1 cup in the mornings as it is.

I also plan on taking some Beet Root (the caps, not juice). What would be the best time to take this? Morning or Night before bed?

juicers like to drink beet juice before they lift for some reason.

I drink mostly carrot juice and if I have it in the morning its energizing and I drink less coffee.

The Tim Ferriss Show - #239: How to Reverse Aging with Art De Vany

Interesting podcast with 80 yr old Art De Vany about how there is no such thing as aging, only the body's failure to regenerate cells. Interview is pretty choppy and not great but some good info on Paleo, weight training and general health as you get older.

I don't have high BP, but Beetroot Juice seems to lower it:

I have HBP and am on lisinopril. My Doc said if I lose the weight I could possibly get off it. My 71 y.o. dad was on the same med and he is not overweight. He said drinking beetjuice got him off it. Is there a concentrated pill form? I don't like the taste of it.

If you're only on 1 coffee then the jump to no coffee should be relatively easy if you want to make it. I remember reading up on this in the Primal Blueprint and there is nothing to say that one coffee is bad for you, if anything, it might even be good.

From my own experience, I went from drinking a lot of coffee to zero Caffine and it made the world of difference in terms of improved natural energy, better sleep, less tense immune system and less headaches. You can think of Caffine as something that keeps your system permanently jangling.

You don't really need it and the next hit of Caffine is only to sate the craving for it. In that way it's like tobacco.

not that i know of, but the guy in the film Fat Sick and Nearly Dead went on a juicing fast and lowered his HBP. He juiced all sorts of stuff, not just beets.

Try making 32 oz of juice consisting of half a beet and the rest carrots. It will mostly taste like the carrots.

I hate the taste of beets as well. This is what I ordered:

Not sure on the brand (Nature's Way) but I didn't see many other options for Beetroot in pill/cap form.

If you're in the US, find a local nutrition response testing practitioner. They will test you and dose your body the appropriate supplements ( correct kind and dosages)

You can do a search.

I liked the Androgel much. Now that I'm back in the States it's too expensive. It would cost me over $700 a month including doctor visits and blood tests. Not gonna pay that shit.

So, I made other arrangements. I won't discuss it here, but there's some threads in the weightlifting section you should read.

For girls you're seeing who are significantly younger and that you wouldn't mind an LTR with, what's the consensus on lying about your age?

Theory - You get the girl to fall in love with you with game, good sex, lie by a "reasonable" amount of years, then tell her the truth after she's hooked. The logic being, if you told her right off, you may not even get the chance.

Obviously, you're setting up a lot of drama later though and a potential of getting dumped. Catch 22.

I have another birthday next month, and am mid 40s area. Seeing a girl in her early 20s now. Age hasn't come up.

How do you feel about seeing a doctor and having blood tests every month for the rest of your life? And $50 a month on top of how much for medical insurance? How much is your medical insurance a month?

Mine costs less.

I know you're being helpful, and I'm very happy you've got your treatment you need. But fuck the government and their bullshit. Everyone should be able to get treatment for medical problems without paying through the fucking nose.

So from what I have read, if you go on TRT, you should be on it the rest of your life. Does that apply to gel/lotion also? I'm not sure if it works the same as injections. Thanks.

So from what I have read, if you go on TRT, you should be on it the rest of your life. Does that apply to gel/lotion also? I'm not sure if it works the same as injections. Thanks.

If your T is low, it will always be low without help. But if test makes you feel great again like you're 25, then why not take it for always?
