I like "k" (the asshole route) and emoticons the most. Big green light if she responds to either.

RE: "It's my Birthday!" "I'm sick" texts
I'd ignore texts like those.

Unless...

It's her bday and you want to use me for free bottles of which I'll set it up, but I'm guaranteed getting ass that night from her, or from her friends. Club rats know the game and they know it well.

If she says she's sick I don't respond. It's a feeder text trying to elicit sympathy and odds are she has 100 other guys playing into it, plus I really don't give a shit.

Haha. I just got the I'm sick text earlier. I don't know how to do that screenshot thing, so here's how it went.

Her = "I'm sick"

Me = "I have an anal thermometer"

Her = "Your [sic] an ass. I'm really sick. I feel icky"

Me = "Not worried. My penis got its flu shot already."

She texted again she was really, really sick and I just ignored it and watched Monday Night Football.

I mean it depends on if you've banged the girl or not though.

I'd say use the asshole game for girls you haven't banged, but for one's I have, I'm usually dismissive and re-engage later:

"I'm sick"
"Oh ok, feel better."

"It's my birthday!"
"Oh happy birthday, have fun"

My guide for newbies to RVF.

Fellas, these texts are not out of the blue texts. They are replies I've received after sending out a Ping or mass text,

so if they are mass texts, why not just ignore [for the night or whatever period of time]? I honestly don't understand why you would respond, unless it goes without saying that 'It's my bday' is code for 'I'mma get shitfaced come over and bang me?'

From now on I'm only running Tupac lines as game.

Her: I'm sick.
Me: from the dick or is it the flu?

Her: It's my Birthday!
Me: drinking peppermint schnapps with jackie wilson and sam cooke

RE: "It's my Birthday!" "I'm sick" texts
Many girls consider text messaging to be the ACTUAL form of verbal communication. Say they've had a 20 message text exchange with a guy, they'll tell their friends things like...

'we've been talking for a couple days now'
'when he said that, I tried to make it sound like I wasn't excited'

No bitch. Your thumbs don't have mouths or ears.

This is why they message you stupid, pointless things like 'it's my birthday!' The dumbest thing a girl has ever said to me is:

"This morning I made myself breakfast toast and an egg"

WTF? "Sounds nice?"

In real life, if she said this verbally directly to your face, it would be very awkward to ignore her completely or say something over-the-top douchey like 'so?'

If she's sending this to you before you have sex, IMO, she is definitely interested. Great sign.

If you don't already have a date set up (and she she's not contacting you at a definite 'attention whoring timeslot', like 3pm on a wednesday when she is just bored at work) you should call her up on the spot while she's thinking about you, wish her a happy birthday and chat for a minute, and set up a date. if she doesn't answer, she's a flaky attention whore and you're wasting your time anyway.

As always, if you already have banged her, none of this applies. As Captain Planet would say...

Interesting. This is the opposite of conventional game wisdom that says it's a shit test and you should probably ignore it.

If a date is set up already, ignoring it sounds like a much better choice. If you are trying to nail down the first meetup though, I think this is a very easy opportunity to determine if you're dealing with a legitimate prospect. If this is her response when YOU text HER, then you definitely need to ignore her. Maybe I read the OP wrong, I thought this was an out of the blue text from her.

RE: "It's my Birthday!" "I'm sick" texts
This whole "I'm sick" thing I deal with on an almost daily basis from my mate's girlfriend who moved in with us earlier in the year.

She'll often say things like this because she wants attention and I don't give it to her which makes her crave it even more.

Funnily enough about two weeks ago she came into my room and told me she was sick and that her throat hurts. I said to her to not come near me and get out of my room and she was all "noooo Maaaatttttt!!" and I could see it triggered something in her.

My mate is the complete opposite and breaks his back for her whenever she's playing up. Coincidentally she's recently been talking about wanting to go out and get fucked up drunk and stoned.

Anyway, the reactions I give her get the more exciting response from her. I always tell her not to come near me or don't touch me (not crude, you perverts) and she sees it as a challenge and wants to be involved in whatever I'm doing as a result.

Do the asshole thing. Don't give cheesy lines just say something like "I don't care", "why are you texting me this", "not interested" or as Ali said, "k".

Matt:

You DONT really want to get involved with your mate's girl, anyhow, right?

I mean that if she is your mate's girl, then that is going to be a different kind of relationship, and she is NOT really any kind of bang target for you anyhow, right?

Probably, the main reason to "win her over" in any kind of way would be in order that she introduces girls to you or that she may serve as a wingwoman of sorts, no?

I'm sure that there are other scenarios that I may be missing, too.

I don't understand your questions in this context in which I had asked a couple of questions of Matt regarding the mate's girlfriend.

Maybe you are suggesting some kind of humor, but it's gone past my puzzle-solving abilities. Can you explain or give a further info re meaning?

I'll elaborate.

What would you do if, when living with a mate and you're just being yourself at home, her gf starts trying to grab your attention, and even tells you your friend is jealous she's so happy talking to you (and she's losing attraction in him as a result...), and you don't want to hurt your friend's relationship?

Does it mean pretending to be someone else, in your own home?

I guess that I am kind of understanding your first comment which questions me, but then you are asking me, more or less, the same questions that I was asking Matt. I would NOT know the answer to Matt's situation, and that is why I asked Matt, in the first place.

My questions to Matt have to do with how Matt perceives his relationship with the girl. Certainly, in Matt's description, he was using as an example of a girl who is seeking attention and as an example for how if the guy does NOT play along with a girl's attention seeking the girl will try harder to get his attention.

In my thinking Matt's approach does NOT seem practical in a situation in which the girl is the girlfriend of his roommate, yet I was thinking that Matt may be able to provide an explanation for the situation in order that I would better understand.

I was wondering what role or purpose such a girl would serve for him? She sounds annoying, but I suppose she is part of the package that comes with his roommate, at least for the moment.

I think that each of us would deal with such a situation in a different manner... I would treat a girl differently, if I intended to bang her or NOT or if I intended to keep a decent relationship with her.... or if I just found her to be annoying.

I don't really understand the situation, and that is why I was asking.
