Their women are slowly being exposed to feminist ideas and Westernization and increasingly expect to be chased.

Try walking around a crowded area in Osaka, any crowded area, and tell me Japanese men don't approach. Japan, at least Osaka, has an absolute epidemic of nerdy guys on the streets hitting on every girl who passes by. I wouldn't be surprised if the average girl here gets hit on a couple times a day by guys with shit for game. For Christ's sakes there are signs at club entrances warning against excessive 'nampa'.

Wanna see guys who never approach? Go to Germany. The average German guy does zero approaches outside his social circle, and still there's no herbavore culture.

I agree its a strange place when it comes to workplace gender. Even in the industry I work in, which is balanced in regards to men and women, there was still very much a limit to how far a woman could go within a company. My perception is that when it comes to being employees with soft skills, women have no chance of moving up the ladder very far by just showing up and pushing paper. With hard skills (STEM, etc) women have more opportunity to move up and many do. That culture is changing, but most western media still only likes to focus on "weird Japan". The culture says when you get married (before 25) you have two kids right away. The woman stays are home, and the man works. Thats it. Simple.

Thats why many (pretty) women choose a womens college that has ties with a top STEM school such as Waseda. They have intramural and clubs that are tied together and do a lot of travel together. And the amount of sex that happens in this part of a Japanese persons life is staggering.

I thought it might be useful to post some of Alex Kerr's biggest reasons why Japan's society is in big trouble. Forum guys who have spent significant time in Japan will have no trouble recognizing these things. They may even help to put your experiences into a bigger context. I'm going to distill these points down from what I got from his "Dogs and Demons" and "Lost Japan":

1. Environmental Degradation.
When you travel around Japan, you can be surprised at how the whole country is on a "pointless construction" kick. Roads that lead nowhere, and the prevalent use of concrete to cover up beaches, rivers, streams, and mountain sides. It's really sad. One of the reasons for this is the fact that the national environmental agencies are in cahoots with the construction industry, and each hand washes the other's backs. And the whole country suffers from the destruction of its natural beauty.

2. Loss of Traditional Arts
Many young people are totally ignorant of their own history and culture, and therefore have little respect for their country's heritage. The educational ministry has not found a way to make traditional Japanese culture attractive to the young. Ironically, it is foreigners who often know more about Japanese traditional arts than the natives themselves.

3. Stifling Bureaucracy
Innovation is not encouraged at the governmental level. The same political forces and parties have ruled the country for decades, and the result has been a throttling, suffocating chokehold on the entire nation. Just to get anything done takes an elaborate amount of paperwork and ass-kissing, and this is just not a way to innovate.

4. Educational System Promoting Obedience
Sadly, the educational system in Japan reinforces these negative trends.
Students are encouraged not to stand out. They are encouraged to blindly obey the rules, to not take risks, and to go along with the crowd. Some of this is good, of course, but it has gone too far. The textbooks are all officially approved from above, and the only things that get in them are party-line positions.

5. Failure to Innovate
Japan has fallen dangerously behind in the modern arts: entertainment, film, art, even its once great domains of electronics and automobiles. No one watches Toho films, or cares about Japanese films or art in general. Yes, there have been some notable exceptions in recent years (animation, manga, etc), but the overall trend has been downward from the 1960s. Japan attracts few tourists, compared to Southeast Asia.
Businessman are avoiding doing business in Japan since "it's just not worth the brain damage."

Anyway, that about sums up some of his criticisms. I agree with most of them, with a few caveats.
Japan still is my overall favorite country, and I'll never abandon it, but I want to see it get its act together.
And no matter what, for me it's as close to poosy paradise as I think can be found. Without question...

One last comment: Laner, Sargon of Akkad, and any other Tokyo hands out there might enjoy the movie "Enter the Void" by French director Gaspar Noe. A unique film of a floating spiritual journey through Tokyo through the "eyes" of a deceased man. Exhilarating and demented as only Gaspar Noe can do it...

This article is misleading.

As I wrote in the Bang Osaka thread (/thread-21902-...id560523), it might be true that the average Japanese guy is having less sex but don't fool yourself that young girls aren't. That is utter bullshit. The Japanese alphas (rich guys, "ikemen" good lookers and the rare ones with game) are getting laid more than ever.

And you'd be right. One girl I'm seeing messaged me today saying she was exhausted from her part-time job. Apparently she had to move around some boxes of stock with the new kid but he was so weak that she ended up doing more of the lifting than he did LOL. This girl is maybe 100 lbs max. I shit you not. Not knocking the efforts of players who were tearing it up but going to East Asia as a white guy is pretty much gaming in easy mode. There's so many stories out there of white guys who weren't getting a wiff of pussy back in their home countries going to teach English in S. Korea, Japan, China, or Taiwan and slaying 10x as much pussy as they were before. Now I hear a lot about how you see these fat guys getting with hot Asian chicks and in my personal experience it's not the case. Yes these guys are getting women but from what I see when I'm in Taiwan and also here in the US with white guys dating Asian girls it's usually a chick who's around the same level as they are. I would say it's particular prevalent in Japan though. Japan seems to always have had a history of Stockholm Syndrome. Basically if they seem someone as superior they'll rush to copy and assimilate into that culture. They did this with Chinese culture hundreds of years ago and then again with American culture in recent times.

Even outside of Japan I'd still say East Asians have a marked tendency to take white worshiping farther then other non-white ethnicity. Here in the US, when someone in the Hispanic and African American community is being told that they are "acting white" it is universally viewed as an insult. Why you trying to go to college, you trying to be white? Why you talking like a square, you trying to be white? Not so with Asian Americans. If anything AAs try even harder to be "white" (white here being associated with stereotypical WASP preppy culture) then whites do themselves. How many Asians do you see rocking Abercrombie and Fitch and the like?

Yes, There's actually two books by two separate Black authors who write about their sexual experiences in Japan. "Black Passenger Yellow Cab" and "Hi! My Name is Loco. I am a Black Racist." Their experiences were so similar that I thought the same guy wrote both books. However, I heard a podcast with both of them and they are definitely different person.

From reading both books, both of them lived there and spoke Japanese. So I don't know how well a Brotha will do if they only rolling around J land for a week and doesn't know the language. I might check it out in the future, but living in NY I have long interest in any flight longer than 6 hours.

I'm sorry, but when were you in Asia? It doesn't sound like you've been to Japan.

I've mentioned this in other threads (Check "Bang Osaka"). Most of These stories are either exagerated or just urban legends.

In short: I lived in China for a total of 8 months (still had a GF in the first two months) and I've been in Japan so far for a bit over 6 months. I have never seen anything even remotely resembling a "white worship" here.

China (Beijing), in terms of ease, was the same as any other country: with some work, you could pull, but no one threw themselves at you. Eight girls in six months, but you had to work for it like anywhere else. Go out, take the rejections, experiment, rinse and repeat until you strike gold. As for Japan...I have never experienced more difficulty anywhere else than in this country. Truly, I have never seen anything like it. I'm actually the reverse of what you say: got laid back home and in China, but can barely do so in Japan.

This is not to say Asia in general is difficult, but the worst mistake a guy can make is to come over here expecting to have free pussy thrown at him. I do not care how many stories you've heard. Today in the 2010s, nobody gives a fuck how white your skin is. Backpacking losers with no game who think they'll have women throw themselves into their arms wherever they go are in for a rude awakening.
