In regards to alpha, do hipsters really represent it? Vegan/vegetarian, androgynous, skinny dudes that prefer passive-aggressiveness because their body can't produce enough testosterone to be aggressive? Ali I was saying that a guy can prove him self here by his posts. For example, he could breakdown a bang he got and if it makes sense game wise and even maybe adds to everyone's game in some way, we wouldn't need to have him "verified" outside of the forum.

I don't think soup is a "hipster" at all, more like the opposite of one.

The reason guys here instinctively hate hipsters or at least find them annoying is not really because of how they dress or what they eat or where they live, etc. Those are just the signs of something.

The reason is that their minds are unfree and their spirits are small. They go through the world with the carefulness of someone walking on imaginary eggshells. As if the thing that mattered most in life was to not be caught out being wrong about any one of a numbers of supposed rigors and conventions. That's why they traffic in irony and understatement, which are the modes of the unfree and the small-spirited. It's a demented and disgusting way to go through life.

I think soup is the opposite of this. He is one of the freest and most open-minded posters on the forum. It's actually hard to know what he'll say about any given subject but it's very clear that he thinks for himself and is fearless and will just say whatever comes into his head. Sometimes I think it's brilliant and sometimes I think it's crazy but this has nothing to do with the mincing carefulness of the way a hipster thinks and writes and lives.
