In the past at least there was an actual 'counter culture' element where people were actually standing up to something, Vietnam, Reagan era, etc, now its all about aesthetic

I don't really mind hipsters. At they at least listen to some good music.

RE: Hipsters
Spent a couple hours studying pics last night and came to the conclusion that true hipster chicks are for the most part unattractive. The cuter ones in the photos are dressing up to attention whore. Girls love to buy a "costume" and hang out in different counter/sub cultures for the fun of it. Biker bars, hip hop clubs, beach dives, country music venues. Weekend warriors if you will. They aren't part of it and don't usually go for the conformist guys there.

I would like, however, to hit up E. Village and smash one just to unlock the achievement, but don't see the ROI being worth it at all.

1 week in Manhattan= 1 month in the DR. The only advantage I see for me is NYC having a far more diverse range of girls.

Concerning hipster hate I really don't have it. If anything they elevate my status in a bar. Any girl worth her weight in salt won't give these guys the time of day, and the more of them there the better I look.

A filet don't look so special in the meat counter next to 20 other prime cuts of beef, but set it next to a case of Spam, and it starts to look really fucking tantalizing.

You are right the majority of these girls aren't attractive and get tattoos etc.

You should know that the East Village isn't where all these people are. Actually, East village and downtown you are going to get more model girls.

Hipster/younger white chicks are out in wburg or bushwick.

I highly recommend NYC for pussy. I don't believe my game is all that, yet I'm able to pull pretty regularly.

Girls go through phases and there will always be the ones that attract to the sub cultures. I used to work at a beach bar and saw this with beach trash/surfers/frat boys. Now here the next level observation. Its a small # of chicks and they get passed around the group. Same as the bike crews I rolled with.

Once you paint yourself in a corner as such, your options of pussy dry up. Hipsters have effectively alienated themselves from 99% of women in society, and attract probably the attention of 95% of gay males.

Again, they are doing me a favor and making my life easier. We aren't competing over women or careers. The more their numbers grow, the better we have it.

I remember when I first started seeing these bearded guys and all the plaid. I thought it was the most annoying white boy thing from out of town.

Then I was hanging with a girl at a hipster bar girl and I was talking shit shit about those guys and she said they were hot.

That's when I stopped hating and started watching to understand what was happening.

its funny though, I see this happen all the time and my good buddy does this to a tee, I have done it a bit myself, but not as much, sort of starting too again.

We are about 40. We have lived through, 80's punk & hair metal, late 80's early 90's dance/hip hop scene, early 90's grunge/jam band/punk revival. My buddy has literally had all of those looks going on, and was really into them, we started as metal rockers in a band(in high school), he danced when hiphop dancing was big in the late 80's, we were 'goths' for a bit(NIN started in my town, Industrial was a big scene in that time), became granola/hippies when we toured with the Dead, always into the punk scene and played the part at times. The motherfucker had a kid n' play haircut with flip up fake glasses, then two years later is walking around barefoot in cut off disgusting dirty jeans and a newsboy cap at Dead shows. In all of these versions of he is getting pussy(I LTR'd), girls fucking love him, and he's like a chameleon but not in a pre-meditated negative way. Now he is a straight up hipster, but married unfortunately. I have seen a bunch of guys do this over the years, who started out as hair metal guys in the 80's, even older dudes in the 40's and 50's. I have seen looks go from metal>hiphop>goth>hippie>grunge>punk>hipster. cant wait to see whats next, the chicks will follow. Some people are natural hipsters, they just identify with trends and scenes more strongly.

Soup,

If you truly are a hipster, what do you care what RVF members think about your beard and plaid?

I think you're not a hipster.

Pour the soup out of the hipster bowl and into the mainstream and become one with us.

First of all, I'm not a hipster.

Second of all, I will never, ever, be mainstream Wink

I don't have an office job, I make money playing guitar, I bang girls and drink.

I meet up with girl in the middle of the day and take them to my place and fuck them.

If you are reading this forum, you probably aren't "mainstream".

I resisted growing a beard out for years. Now I'm trying it to see how it affects my game. So far, so good. Girls like to nuzzle in it.

I dress more like a punk then a hipster. I did cave and buy a couple of plaid shirts, but you know what?

I've had girls mention that the shirt was one of the things that made them want to fuck me.

Every person I've known like this has struck me as lacking any clear conception of who they actually are at their core. Scene identity creates their identity - because, without it, they're a void.

The danger in creating your identity purely through fashion is you risk ending up looking like this:

Fist worthy? Wad-worthy, she's cute and slim with blow-job lips. You can't tell if someone's a bitch from one photo, people's faces pass through different expressions moment-by-moment.

On a subtler note, nice hands too, long slim fingers, this is important in a woman's overall elegance. If you like part AA chicks I think she looks lovely.

Instant-Impregnation Hotness test doubtful, but nice. (IIHT: would impregnate this bitch right here and now based on obvious genetic superiority)

Yes you can, when it's this extreme.

She has terminal-bitch mug, simple as that. I've seen it too many times not to know.

Interesting thing. Some girls are doable despite or even partially because of being bitches, but this one would be doable only if she wasn't such a f'ing dreadnought bitch.

Look at the slumped shoulders, awkward leg positioning, uncomfortable stomach-tensing and turd-sniffing expression. Classic Hipster 'more jaded and over it than you' posturing failing to hide the fact that this chick is very self-conscious about how others see her.
