I wanted to get your thoughts on something fellas.

After scouring around this forum and some other similar forums for a while, I've compared allot of what I read to my own experiences. One thing that has continuously bothered me, is that I've noticed too many guys are really really worried about what other dudes think about their girl.

On the one hand it is of course a confidence booster to walk into a room and have people check your girl out and be a little envious but on the other hand does it really matter that much? I mean if you like fucking a certain type of girl then just do it? Why do so many guys need validation to bang a girl? Insecurity I suppose?

*Of course I'm not talking about 250lb fatties , grandmas or women with no teeth.

Thoughts gents?

Guys over-rate anyway. As long as you're not dating uglier girls than you are handsome, ratings just help us tell the story. If last week a guy is talking about a 7, and today it's a 9, you can assume today's chick is significantly hotter for him.

People need somebody else's stamp. Women also do that among friends.
It is a akward moment introduce your "date"/ boyfriend/ out-of-friend-zone guy to your best friends or people you may know.

I am not big on the 1-10 scale, and rarely ever use it, unless to illustrate a point on the internet.

The funny thing about rating girls is that my friends and I when we are talking always down play the girl and rate lower.

For instance, you are telling your friend you are bringing a girl with you to a gig, and he asks, "how is she?"

If she is fly as hell, we always say "decent' or "she's alright" or something to that effect. Or if she is a 9, one might say "she is a 5".

Kind of a contrarian approach if you will.

i guess the 1-10 scale was designed to try and objectivy the perceived level of attractiveness of girls but in practice this doesn't really seem to work

i love how the founder of one of the top commercial PUA businesses considers his girlfriend a 10 and says this in their products. i have met her together with a friend of mine and we both consider her a 4 or so - and we're def not being haters here

Men in Colombia in particular, go out of their way to date/be seen with hot women just so that other guys can see he has the hottest girl around (even if she is an pseudo-escort). It is a huge ego boost for them, and they really get competitive to the point of even paying just to "be seen" with a 10.

Good posts, I agree that this is a sound way to describe a date esp on the internet. It just seems to me that I'm noticing this rating system (esp in DC) to the level of snobbery in some cases. And when dudes apply this sytem to their friend's date's they need to remember personal tastes I guess.

I'm with G as well..if I'm with a super good looking girl and someone asks I will say "she's ok".

Girls' ratings is like height and Dick sizes, everybody rounds up. Its almost to the point that the rating system is totally meaningless. I am actually more interested in the venue and techniques used to secure the lay than I am the rating of the girl.

I agree. So many people are light on the venue Data of places they swoop in.

Which spot, which night, which time, specialized moves, user friendliness etc.
