As you may have gathered from the last email, Style, voted the world's greatest pickup artist three years consecutively, is no more:


On Sunday, August 25th, he was laid to rest in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
As guests arrived, they were each given one of the actual paper scraps with a phone number scrawled on it that Style collected while researching The Game. They then threw that number into the open casket to pay their respects, where it joined Style's retired peacocking clothing, prop bag, and, um, platform shoes:


Over 125 assembled guests, which included friends, Style's father, characters from The Game, Stylelife students, Society members, paparazzi, rock stars, nuns, and several pregnant single women, gathered to mourn the dearly departed. Joel Stein, the Time Magazine columnist, hosted the memorial, during which several grief-stricken guests said a few words in loving memory.
This was followed by a benediction from the priest as the casket was lowered into the ground permanently. There was not a dry eye in the house:


When TMZ covered the event, they said this was a gesture that would upset women, by equating marriage to a death.
But the truth is quite the contrary:
Back in the days of The Game, Style used to run around Las Vegas. And as soon as he saw a bachelorette party, he knew he was in. He made out with countless bachelorettes--and slept with a few.
And surely whatever these bachelorettes were doing wasn't nearly as decadent as what many bachelors do to celebrate their "last night of freedom" in Las Vegas.
It's horrifying.
And so the true purpose of the funeral was to end the antiquated tradition of bachelor and bachelorette parties, which perpetuate the idea that this is a man or woman's last chance to "have fun" before a marriage.
A marriage should also be fun.
And when things happen at these parties that a bride or a groom can't even tell their spouse about, it destroys any hope of intimacy in the marriage. A bachelor party should be an occasion to let go of the past and properly mourn it in order to embrace a brighter, more connected, more intimate future.
And so it was not just a funeral, but a celebration:


And so henceforth, Style can be found in the Garden of Beginnings (section 2), not far from starlets such as Jayne Mansfield and Fay Wray, both of whom he is no doubt attempting a posthumous dual-induction massage with. You may visit him anytime and conduct a seance to discuss your oneitis at length:


Some of the men who dug the grave and care for it have noted a mysterious occurrence: If you lay a piece of paper with the phone number of a girl you sarged on top of the tombstone, she will not flake when you reach out to her the next day.

If that's the case then more power to him, because what is the biggest problem players have with getting married? Monogamy. If monogamy is taken out of the equation then odds are more players would be down to tie the knot.

why can't he just do it to have fun and make the event memorable? He has a visceral tie to the pickup community. It's only expected he gives it some form of recognition when he finally finds his "main girl"

Yes, but why would he have to let go of anything? You have to remember that Style's primary description would not be "man who bangs a lot of girls, therefore he can't do that anymore when married", but "man who has a vast knowledge of game and teaches others through his writing". I don't see why Style would have to cease to exist and his former owner repent or cast him away just because of marriage. I might be wrong here, but the vibe I got from this is that he is not allowed to speak his mind anymore.

We got blown out twice by a bachelorette party in Athens the other weekend. If fisto, lothario, john kreese or myself can't get a foot hold, there is a problem. Big difference in the bachelorette party and wedding day.

The opposite of a "guy with great game" is NOT a "guy with really lousy game". It's a guy that doesn't have "great game" - meaning everything below what can be called "great". Good, mediocre, bad, terrible - all of it. My point is that when you have as much money and fame as he does (and not just money and fame but also the respect that comes from being a published writer), you don't need much game. But don't mistake that as me saying that a guy with horrible "anti-game" who is terminally shy with a high level of social awkwardness can get top-shelf girls just because he has money and fame. Obviously, a guy like that has a very low chance of scoring much of anything.

So would he have scored her before his transformation? Probably not. At the very least, we can assume that he isn't a freaking weirdo with extremely low self-confidence. But I don't think we can assume that he needed to be all that special either. Any 'normal' dude who isn't just a collection of negative and unattractive traits will do extremely well with hot women if they are rich and famous.

Look at the quality of girls most celebrities can pull. You don't seriously believe that they all have what we call "great game", do you? (That is, if we separate money and fame from 'game'. For this discussion, I'm defining 'game' as a guy's personality and ability to persuade women sexually without money, look and fame.)

Do you absolutely need to be rich, or famous, or the top of your field, or look like Pitt, to pull hot women? No. I'm sure some guys do very well without any of that. But nearly ALL the guys who have one or two of those do very well as long as they're normal enough.

I'm not hating on the guy. I'm sure he has better game than most of us here. I just don't think it plays as big a role for a rich famous guy as it does for your average dude working a bullshit job and driving a Nissan.
