If you're having trouble pulling girls or even making friends in South America, the first thing I'd advise is work on your Spanish. Spanish skill is extremely important if you want to bang anything resembling a quality girl in Latin America. I can't tell you how many times I've used my standard cocky English opener on a SA chick, then her eyes light up when I suddenly switch over to Spanish. Understanding and being able to intelligently navigate their culture is extremely important to people from Latin America (guys and girls alike), and having some language competence shows that you've put real effort into that in a way that really can't be faked.

As for those upper and upper-middle class girls, it's absolutely true that your Gringo status will mean less and less as you ascend the social ladder, to the point that it may even be detrimental when you're dealing with upper-crust chicks with no shortage of wealthy domestic suitors. I have said on here before that I don't find Colombia easy at all. Or at least half as easy as others claim.

I found my American status (being from California no less) to be barely an advantage if at all. Not sure if it was because I was going after higher end girls or what. Hell, I feel I get better "exotic value" in Manhattan.

The interesting thing is of all the Colombia reports I have read, 99% of them talk about online pipelining. Or some other reports mention a lot of "shoring".

I can't recall a single story of a guy landing in Colombia cold and ripping the place from pillar to post at night.

If you go to Colombia completely cold, stay there for two weeks or less, and only do night game, you may very well struggle or come up empty. If you have language skills, social skills, dress well, are in shape, and approach during the day, Medellin and other parts of Colombia are not at all difficult. What is difficult is going there completely cold as a foreigner and getting top quality talent. I went to Medellin completely cold and stayed there for a total of three weeks during two separate trips. My strategy there was to approach girls who work during the day during the day. After they finished work, I would meet up with them and have dinner and/or sex with them. After they went home to go to bed, I would go out and try to approach at night. I had no real success approaching at night. The most I got were numbers.

If we are talking 'gringos' in general. But as has been mentioned again and again it depends on the gringo. If you fit the relative 'exotic' gringo bill I think thats where its at.

I stayed there about a month. I would say Medellin is not impossible for foreigners, but it's over hyped. If you don't speak Spanish your chances to get laid drop, like, 10 times or even more. Now, that's still higher than 0, but I don't know if it's worth it considering that the city is pretty dangerous in not that cheap. Thailand, for example, beats Medellin and Colombia in general: cheaper, safer, easier girls (locals and tourists).

Bogota, being the capital and largest city naturally has more things to do and see, it has more of an international flavour as that's where all of the head offices, embassies, etc are. I really like Bogota and if it wasn't for the shitty weather (I don't mind the colder temps but the constant rain sucks) and pollution, it would be awesome. I liked the nightlife there because its varied, there's a big rock/metal scene there and they get decent concerts (Megadeath and Hatebreed played while I was there), there's also reggae/dancehall clubs, electronic music clubs and of course your standard salsa/reggaeton scene. Being the capital, there's people there from all over the country, so if you're into Costenas, calenas or Paisas, you can find them in Bogota. I also met and dated some very well educated women there, including an engineer for Haliburton, a girl who studied in Oz and another one who worked at the US embassy (which is the 2nd largest in the world)

Cali on the other hand has a much more provincial feel to it, I was only there for two weeks so can't comment on it too much but it didn't seem to have a varied night life outside of the salsa/reggaeton scene. The weather is much better in Cali, almost too hot for me but not nearly as bad as the Caribbean coast. Calenas really liked to party though I found them the easiest to get into bed, I banged two in ten days which is a lot better than the one in two weeks in Medellin or the one in ten days I got on the coast.

I agree but girls wise, I would still much rather go to Colombia and am in fact planning on doing so next winter, I find the women in Colombia to be much better to date, more interesting, sexier, excellent dancers, etc. I've mentioned this before but on a date with a Colombian girl, two things are guaranteed to happen, even if the date doesn't go so well: I'll get to practice my Spanish for a couple of hours and there's a 99% chance that when I suggest that we go dancing, she'll say yes. I pity the fool who goes to Colombia for only a couple of weeks, especially with limited Spanish and expects to kill it with the women, good luck with that. Its been said time and time again on here that Colombia isn't the place for that, Mixx was probably the most vocal about it, if you want to bang a different girl everyday (or multiple), head to SEA. If your game is tight, you have a good budget, you're well dressed, good looking and speak decent Spanish, I'd say you can do very well in Colombia, probably a couple of different girls a week, even more, its just not going to be anywhere as easy as SEA.

Being around a provocative culture, becoming integrated into it during a date, getting to practice either Spanish or Portuguese, and getting laid to top things off is what makes Latin America (or even parts of Spain) a great place for at least self-development built into fun.

So the gringo has his work cut out for him to score with the top 5% to 10% of eligible women by social status. Let's say you accept that premise.

Does that really even matter? The lower hanging fruit still tastes delicious.

Overall I like Brazil better than Colombia and I feel more at home in Brazil (I have the same good conversational level in both languages), although I must admit that in most parts of Brazil, there is more of a piranha stigma attached for a girl to be seen with a blond guy/obvious foreigner than in Colombia where it can still be seen as high status. But even with that and even in Rio, I dated middle/upper class girls. To a certain extent, it is actually easier for upper class girls to date a gringo because with their looks, manners and education, it's much harder for the locals to label them prostitutes.

That's not my experience at all. Medellin was the worst place for me in Colombia (I got numbers but very few solid ones) and Colombia as a whole is not so easy to day game, even compared to Europe for me (and I'm a tall good looking young blond guy and my Spanish is good). In fact, internet game in Colombia was the easiest for me, especially in Medellin.

I personally don't care to chase after the upper class women in these countries because its too much of a pain in the ass, they grow up a lot differently than I did (fancy education, travel, maids, etc) and even if I did date one I'd probably blow it by committing some social gaffe like using the wrong fork at the dinner table. There's plenty of girls in Colombia who aren't of the upper crust but aren't dirt poor hood rats either, they may come from humble back grounds but they're pleasant to be around and well mannered. I dated one girl in Bogota who was 20 and came from a rural area in Valle de Cauca, she was in the capital going to university and was one of the easiest girls to please I ever dated, a night out on the town would run me about $50 and that included taxi, meal, drinks, etc. She'd chill at my place every Sunday and all she wanted to do was watch reruns of the Simpsons (the show is really popular there) and eat Doritos and I'd bang her brains out, very low maintenance and no drama at all. Its really easy to find a girl like her in Colombia, just hang out near the unis, in Bogota there's a strip of bars on Septima and 51st and on Friday evenings from 5-9 the place is packed with hundreds of students getting shit faced, pretty easy place to meet girls and get numbers.

What's more frustrating for those that have been to both Colombia or Ukraine (I've never been to either)?

1) Consistently getting flaked on with expectations of plans
2) Getting strung along for dates without getting laid

Any personal input on this from the forum?

Last November....on my last trip to Medellin local gangs were kidnapping,
torturing and CASTRATING gringos. Kid you not. In fact a gringo was killed on 2 of my last 5 trips. One of them was a guy from London who resisted a mugging.......

The police don't prosecute a damn thing there. For them to bring charges they have to witness the act IN PROGRESS. not likely to happen.
