And PPS - for all those saying go bang a pro etc...

I tapped 3 in the first 2 weeks of being here! Thought I would get the whole idea out of my system - which I kind of did.

Banging a hooker does not count. It does not help. This is also why I am loathe to do the internet dating here. It's a cop-out, it's cheating. If a guy is already getting dates from cold approach then hell yeah, do internet dating also, it's like an extra revenue stream, I'm for it 100%. But if it proves to be easy, I'd probably end up using it as an excuse not to approach cold. (Which I'm not doing anyway but you know what I mean)

You don't want to use online dating sites because it's "cheating".

You don't approach during the day because Thai girls minding their own business infuriate you.

You don't approach at night because you're tied up with uninterested white girls.

Does that about sum it up?

This thread is really making me

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

Sorry, but you mean 6500 baths, no ?

No one in his right mind would stay in BKK (or anywhere in the world for that matter) with a budget of 16 €/day for eating, dating, boozing, ect.

Huh

Yea, gonna be a bit rough. I budget about 30-35k per month for everything once rent is taken out. I wouldn't want to only have 19k or so per month after rent. It is doable for sure, especially for someone living here and not just traveling through, but a bit tight.

Hey man, no it's about 30K after rent but I was saying if I then did a language course and yoga, I would be down by about 7K a month just for that stuff. So...

By study I do not mean Thai language - I mean my own study, my new career. That is why I am here - enjoy cheap rent and focus on career change. Make sense now? It's work/study, same thing.

Gift, you may want to check this guy's budget out to get an idea of some costs: http://www.pokervip.com//blogs/a-farang-...n-bangkok/

Poker dude has an ungodly low alcohol number for the month. 1k baht is a pretty tame night out. I generally drop 2k on a normal party night. 3k on a good one.

Yeah, they're taking their sweet time about installing it though - lots of crossed wires (pun intended)

When they say, "ultra high-speed internet" out here, they are talking about 1 meg, it's a joke. I was on 80 megs in London which was sweet.

It still comes down the phone lines here, not sure if they have dedicated cable broadband service?

Well what a surprise, it's chucking it down again.

Guess I won't be leaving the condo any time soon then.... (sooo hungry)

Best burger bar in BKK? Firehouse? Bully's? Fattys?

I really want a cheeseburger!

I don't know the best, but when it's raining like a cocksucker outside you can get a huge selection of Western and international restaurants delivered by FoodByPhone.com and ChefsXP.com.

Oh, and my favorite is probably the burger from Roast in Thonglor. Think ChefsXP delivers for them.

I admire your persistence in trolling the hell out of everyone. Nevertheless, I have only been to Firehouse and it was pretty decent (compared to the muck they call a burger here in Switzerland).

Try La Monita. Can order from ChefXP.com. Best Mexican food I've had in Thailand. Basically everyone I know says it's the best in BKK. Although, I didn't like the owners new Spanish restaurant at all.

Urgh... They never called my phone and the order was just sat there waiting to be processed and was going to be another hour so I decided to go to McDonalds in Ekkamai.

I know McDonald's is shit but fuck... It is doubly so in Thailand! Man that double cheeseburger was the nastiest thing I've ever eaten!

Like a brown lump of fat with salt, greese and sugar sprinkled over it.

So nasty.

You spent 1/3rd of your daily food budget on a Double Cheeseburger, that costs 3x what it does in the US? Huh

Once you get broadband find the Thai-Lao language pack on the pirate bay, you won't need the entire thing so just get the three or four of the beginners books and the corresponding rar file containing mp3s. Along with those download these three:

14 Thai for Intermediate Learners
17 Speak Like a Thai Vol. 1 Contemporary Thai Expressions
18 Speak Like a Thai Vol. 2 Thai Slang and Idioms

If it weren't for your tight budget I'd tell you to buy them instead since they're such well thought out programs.
