I really liked Saigon. Also want to check out Shenzhen and Manila. Wouldn't mind doing a few months in Phnom Penh. Who knows what the fuck I'll do, I don't even know lol.

Thailand is in the Top 15 most visited countries in the world. There's about 20 millions inbound tourists in Thailand each year (which means about 50 k people arriving each day - with of course variations between low and peak seasons), maybe 1/4 or 1/5 of them being sex-hungry tourists and hardcore sex-tourists. Go there solely if you enjoy overrunned destinations. If you fancy asian chicks, better venture beyond the frontiers of the mass tourism meccas - Mongolia, Khirghistan, Uzbekistan, ect come to mind.

I live in BKK and I pretty much agree. Far too many white people in this country. I wish they would bulldoze the red light districts, enforce the laws regarding prostitution (I.E. get rid of it), and run out all of the fat and slovenly sex tourists.

It will never happen though because there is far too much money at stake and it's been like this for too long.

First things first - not many seem to be listening in this thread. Rionomad, ThailandRockstar, and myself all live here and we're telling everyone that GIFT is paying too much - HE IS. Like I said, there are some very nice places out there, pussy pads, for 10-15K. I've lived in approximately a dozen places since I first moved here and the most I paid was 35K. The place was massive and every time women walked in they said, "Oh my Buddha."

I had an apartment for when I when our team was in training camp. This was about 18 months ago. It was new and ran 9000 baht. It was a studio but I went looking for places and there were many places that ran 11,000 baht-13,000 that were top-notch places. I chose the 9000 place because I was also paying for our house and was basically only using the place as a headquarters.

Now I live in a 4-bedroom house that runs 7000 baht a month. It's 10-15 minutes from the MRT. Not a prime location but still, the point is that GIFT may have an excellent place but he's paying tourist prices.

As far as what Rionomad wrote, here - here. The first place I wish they would do away with is Khao San Road. Get rid of all the tightwad white backpackers. I also wish the government would only allow people with tourist visas to stay here for a maximum of 6 months in a year. That way anyone who isn't legal can't stay. More like Indonesia, preferably.

Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are on my list of places to go, definitely.

Honestly, I came to Thailand to live in an exotic country. It's no longer all that exotic...nothing like 20 years ago.

Howdy folks

Don't worry about what you post here, I don't care, anything relating to BKK is good advice.

Yeah I felt 20K was obviously higher than what a Thai would pay and of course, I'd already signed the contrct before seeing what AIB posted - such is life.

I saw some around On Nut I think, one was 85 sqm for 20K, another was 15K but too old and shabby. There was fat sexpat in the pool swimming with a young arabic boy - it just wasn't my vibe!

I hung out with a couple of Thai lady friends last night - one has a place right next to a cool bar in Thong Lor. I didn't ask the size or price but she said that it's cheap for the area because the building is already 18 years old.

That seems to be the rule - if it's a new condo, you'll pay top dorrar.

They make them to suit Western tastes and have 24 hour security and gyms and pools etc. Anyway, it seems the baht is about to do a nose-dive, so I am holding off sending my GBP across. When I arrived 6 weeks ago, it was like 44.5 baht to the GBP - today, it's 47, big difference. Hopefully it will continue to slide - if it got to 50, that would be sweet!

Quite a sedate evening last night - the girls took me to their small local bar in Thong Lor, on a Soi next to a big show-off Hi-So place. We had a few drinks and chatted about stuff. One of them I think I would like to bang. When I first met her 6 weeks ago, I had a feeling the thought was mutual. But now, I dunno, maybe I left it too long! Turns out she'a already dated an English guy for 6 years so she's no stranger to the farang cock.

They mentioned J-Avenue and Soi 10. Are these places any good?

Peace niggaz.

lol Yea, I was being facetious. Not to mention I would have no qualms banging a woman in a hijab, though I'm not sure how liberal the Muslims are in Khirghistan. Smile

That pic wasn't really representative of the population. It definitely looks like there could be some cute girls there.

BTW, do "good" girls ever go to farang-oriented bars/clubs? I approached some young hipster-looking Thai chicks and they were pros, of course. How can a hooker wear sneakers and a t-shirt?!

It depends on your definition of farang oriented clubs. Clubs like Spicy, Climax and Insanity? No, no good Thai girls go there. They are not all hookers (most are), but they are definitely not "good" Thai girls.

Do good Thai girls go to the clubs on soi 11? Some. It comes down to your definition of "good" though. A good Thai girl won't be out drinking at all. She will be at home with her family. However, some good Thai girls, by Western standards, will be at some places on soi 11. Mostly the more Westernized Thai girls, or some well off Thai girls. There will also be quite a bit of pros around though, so it can be hard to distinguish who is who.

In general I would say there will be relatively few good girls at any club targeted towards farang.

Yeah, thanks, that's what I meant.
Is this Soi 11? Not very far from Nana BTS?

What surprised me was to find out that normal Thai people often go to Khao San road for a fun night out - the clubs there are therefore filled with not just pack-packer scum and massive growler white chicks bit also normal Thais having a fun night out. Maybe I will revist the place.

Yeah, one normal Thai chick told me she wanted to go there but she did not want to go alone.

Khao San has some normal chicks, but a lot of the girls inside of The Club, and Lava I think it's called? are working girls.

Do backpackers bang working girls? Do they take them into the dorms? That would piss me off if I was sharing a dorm with that guy!

what sort of return are these girls getting on their time? i'd imagine there's far more working girls than guys paying for sex. and at places with entry fees they will make a loss unless they close.

Non pro's go out to bars and clubs but in the main sex touristy areas you'd be as well assuming every girl you meet is a hooker as 99.9% are.

What club were you in? I've never seen a hooker wearing sneakers and a tshirt tbh.

Few big unis nearbye so yes lots of students out though more so on Th Rambuttri and Phra-a-thit Road which are beside Khao San Road.

You can find them in Molly Bar, Bangkok Bar, 999 West, Club Deep, Brick Bar, Hippy De Bar and every bar on Phra-a-thit Road, don't know most of their names.

Yeah most of the girls in those places are hookers with the odd farang hunter or girl who works near Khoa San. Check out the places above and you'll have no trouble probably be the only farang in the places too.

You'd be surprised. KSR isn't just young backpackers these days all sorts of people stay there plus the young guys do pay for sex too. I've met loads of them who had only been in BKK for a few days met a chick in a club then paid her 1,000B for a fuck.

KSR is also very popular with ladyboys, they stand in a group at the same spot every night and are very aggressive....I guess they wouldn't be there if they didn't make any money.

I am in Pattaya now (not for that thing, just wanted to relax on the beach for a couple of days after BKK) and went to The Pier. It looked like a normal club but it was on the Walking street, so, yeah, I assumed all Thai girls there were pros. I was a bit surprised to see a group of young normal-looking (in shorts/t-shirts/long skirts) Thai girls in such a place. I approached them and that sexy little thing started to negotiate her price.

If on Walking Street...the hooker capital of the world...I think it's safe to assume EVERY girl is a pro.

I've seen pros in the long skirts and not so sexy dresses before but none that had the hipster look that I can remember. Guess there's a niche for everything.

At Insanity/insomnia I would see girls in sneakers and shirt dressed plain, usually with a big group I'm guessing after shifts just chilling with their friends...

Stay away from whore zones to find non-pros, simple as that. If learn some basic Thai phrases it isn't easy to keep busy with the women. I've hooked up with ones working at restaurants, grocery stores, banks, hospitals, Pizza Hut, 7'11. Don't expect a princess at Nana Plaza or anywhere in Pattaya cuz the chances of that happening are zilch.

KSR - a place where tightwad backpackers fly 10,000 miles to hang out and then complain if they can't find a $5 a night guesthouse. Never liked the place. I partied there once with a buddy, his Thai girl and my wife when she was my girlfriend. The two Thai girls wanted to see what all the fuss was about KSR and asked if we would take them there. Not really my cup of tea, even back then. I didn't have a bad time because I was with her and we got drunk but we never went back. I've photographed it a couple of times but I prefer slightly more upscale establishments. Smile

Same here, the only way I can tolerate those skank bars is to be piss loaded drunk, I went to a similar style night club in the Philippines and left after one beer, I couldn't handle it.

KSR: I generally agree with Americaninbangkok, its not my favorite place to go, but every time I went there, I had a decent time. KSR gets a lot of hate on this forum, but I think everyone should check it out at least once, drink some buckets, smoke some shisha, eat a baked scorpion and get the fuck out. I pulled a couple of times from there, I know that THC loves the place and stays at a hotel there right on the strip, the guy pulls there all the time.

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

It's funny how so many people just don't get this point or wonder why they can only find hookers.

I used to have first dates at the KSR area for a while with girls who had never been to KSR. There was a huge number of Thai girls asking me about if I'd ever been to KSR, Nana, Cowboy etc who were obviously curious about these places and I wasn't going to take them to Cowboy or Nana (tho I later did a few dates at Cowboy and it was fun) so I started taking ones who seemed keen on first dates there.

I knew the area well enough to know some good bars and could bar crawl around drinking buckets, smoking shisha and eating scorpions just like Scotian says whilst haggling with street hawkers and buying wooden frogs and those silly hats....always great fun and it made for a good date, certainly much better than sitting in a Thai bar listening to Thai music I didn't understand and making small talk. The girls loved it too as was a whole new experience for them, they got to act like a tourist in their own town and do silly shit Thai's don't do on nights out (drink buckets etc).

After a while I grew tired of it. Did a few dates at Cowboy too like I said but only after meeting somewhere else first and if my date was curious about these places, some seemed to quite enjoy Cowboy and got close to persuading one to let this bisexual bar girl (who fancied my date) to come home with us but my date freaked out at the last minute.

Quote:Same here, the only way I can tolerate those skank bars is to be piss loaded drunk, I went to a similar style night club in the Philippines and left after one beer, I couldn't handle it.

It's the only time I ever consider going to these places. Sober or tipsy I loathe the idea when someone mentions it but post 2am with a head full of whisky it seems like a good idea. It's never a good idea.
