Ok, so we've had 3 great dates so far. First two got some serious makeouts, then the last one 3 weeks ago a bit more, but could not get her up to my place. Still I know it's on, and will happen, could just feel it. But I had to go away for a 2-week holiday which broke up the magic of the moment a bit. During this time away she texts me a couple times, once saying she misses me, we've seen each other a lot and now it's weird we're not seeing one another, etc.

So I set something up for the saturday after I get back. At least I thought I did. We tentatively decide on the Wednesday to meet on Saturday, then I send out an SMS Sat afternoon around 1 saying 'hey so let's meet at 8 at xyz'. She doesn't respond immediately and even before that my spider senses tell me 'she's going to flake, I can just feel it'.

Sure enough, I get a text like 3 hours later (bad sign already) saying "hi, I'm out of town. how are you?" I don't respond, go out with a buddy to run some day game, get a number or two, and then around 4 hours later in the evening she writes "are you upset" which I know means she knows she did something wrong. I'm jetlagged as hell at this point and don't feel like bothering responding, but do the next morning i write back "I'm not upset (want to stay rationale, in control), but thought we had made a tentative date, just confused a bit". I considered calling her out and saying it was rude, but didn't. (mistake??)

Anyway, she doesn't respond back. Not that day, not at all. Nothing at all. At this point I'm like "screw her, she's playing games, whatever need to let this breath a bit". So I don't email her until today (11 days later) to re-start. I just say 'hey what's up, been busy, how are you doing?". She responds like 2 hours later saying "??...u had not one free minute during the past two weeks to write me a message? Sorry I can't belive that".

WTF? Ok, pretty sure she's playing games, feel like I've completely lost my frame, but dont' give a damn at this point so I say "I was out of town in London for a week (a lie, but whatever) and incredibly busy with a conference (true) - work has been crazy. And you can always text me too)- didn't hear back from you last week. And by the way, i think it's a bit rude that you didn't met up with me that saturday and instead went out of town after we made plans."

So that was 2 hours ago, no response. Women suck, here we go again, but she's not been good at getting back to me in a timely manner, and if she thinks she can blow me off and then lay the blame on me for not being her text beta-bitch she's wrong.

Probably a lost cause, which is a bummer bc I was one date away from the bang I think. Any thoughts would be appreciated...how can I revive this at this point?? Feels like it might be dead....ughhh.

When I was getting back into dating hardcore about a year ago I had numerous experiences like this. I have to tell you - I still don't understand why or how this happens, but I can tell you emphatically that having a full pipeline of women, multiple options, constant dates will help you react to these situations in a more empowered way.

When I was only fucking 0 or 1 girls, I'd get so upset when something like this happened and play it all wrong, effectively killing the budding relationship 100% of the time... when I was fucking 3-6 girls I'd play it very cool and the situation would salvage itself about 50% of the time. The best part is that when you play it cool and she comes back to you, you're in like Errol Flynn.

If you're both in your late 20's and you live in the US - bounce.
If you're both young and you live in the US - put her low priority.
If this is happening in some foreign land, I have no idea, but things might work differently.

I would choose the second option if I was you.

She was clearly at least a bit interested in you. Don't expect for girls to wait around 2 weeks for you. It doesn't happen especially in America.

I'm 44 she's 25 We're in Russia. Usually this sh*t never happens to me and I get the bang after a few dates/weeks, but the timing and me being away, plus this being an internet girl has me a bit stymied as to what to do here. Ok so I went into 'Beta makeup' mode last night and texted her saying I "think there's been a misunderstanding, want to see you/meet up and talk etc." Nothing too weak really, but wanted to make sure she knows I'm interested and re-start. Update: so I met with her last week and with her friend who was in town. Bad situation I know, but had to re-engage after not seeing her for 4 weeks, so I figure I'll have to do some rebuilding here. Didn't go too well, she is clearly upset I didn't call for so long, and seems to have this undercurrent of anger - which means I think she sees me as 'relationship guy' who no doubt she thinks she can control. I played it totally cool and left around 2am as she was headed to another party and I was pretty tired from going on the 3 previous nights. But it was kinda a 'meh' night. I did a lot of touching, light kissing etc. but given we were with her friend who was in town for the weekend didn't get an opportunity to make any moves.

So then I texted her the next day to keep her interested, and she wrote back saying 'let's meet up this Friday before my hen party'. Totally can sense she's playing hard to get, trying to put me on her schedule, not mine etc. So I'll meet her but at this point I could give a sh*t about this one honestly. Just can't believe it's gone this far off the tracks. And I have noticed some troubling signs from the last meeting - she's got a close gay dude she hangs with, has completely stopped her attempt to quit smoking, mentioned something about her wanting to experiment with her sexuality, etc. I am 50% sure she' probably been more slutty and [email protected] other dudes on the first date before, but at 25 in Russia that might be like hitting the 30s wall in the US so she's going into 'hard to get mode'.

Let me go through my reaction and rationale at the time:

1. she sms'd me 3.5 hours after I texted her on a Wednesday, indicating she could care less;
2. she said she was alone at a rather expensive coffee shop/restaurant in the center of town that would have been a 20 minute trip just to get there; I thought maybe she was trying to entrap me to come help pay, and above all didn't want to act too interested or excited to see her on a 'spur of the moment' idea she had (i.e. on her terms & timing);
3. it was getting late on a Wednesday night and I would not have been able to meet her until 11:45 at the earliest given the timing and when I saw her responses. I really thought at the time that given her track record (lost of messing around, no [email protected]) that she was once again trying to set me up to hang out but no nookie with it being a school nite and all; and
4. I seriously didn't want to drink and she drinks a lot usually, had a big weekend and trying to cut back.

But most of all, I didn't want to be her lap dog and act like I was dying to come see her on her terms. Basically I wanted to see aloof and unavailable a bit and make her chase me. I gave some thought to not responding until today given the texting 'rules' but thought I'd at least get back to her saying I was not coming. She's been tricky and sly all along, seemingly playing games & re-frame things to her liking, and I would rather not be her little beta-b*tch who comes running at a moment's notice the minute she bothers to text me back 3.5 hours later.

I get what you're trying to do and for the most part that's a solid play but in certain circumstances when it's been tough to pin her down to a specific time sometimes you have to be spontaneous and strike while the pussy is hot. As for paying for her meal you could have avoided that whole discussion by just meeting her for the walk after she was done like she suggested.

Maybe or maybe not. The one thing I've learned is that you never want to assume you're going to see a woman again if you haven't banged her yet. Postmortem:

So I finally dropped her. I guess not contacting her for 11+ days really p*ssed her off and turned her on me. She was visibly p*ssed the date we had when I got back from vacation. I tried to re-frame and sooth her concerns and the situation, but she was pretty icy from then on. The next time I saw her we kissed a bit, but then she had to go meet her friend at a B-day party and I didn't seem to be invited. Whatever I went to another bar and got a couple numbers.

But man, can't believe I didnt get the bang on this one. Really thought this was done and dusted and only a matter of time before I went away on vacation for two weeks. For what it's worth, it seems as though some magical, mumbo jumbo bullshit happens when someone goes on vacation early in the dating process. I don't think I've ever salvaged one after either she or I went away for a week or more.

Also, I've had the experience of losing touch with someone I've seen a time or two and then they agree to another date and they're cold as ice. No amount of cocky/funny/kino/callback humor has been able to save the situation. I can't help but wonder, if they're just going to be a cold bitch the entire time why did they agree to come out in the first place!?!

I would just chalk this one up to the game and plow on...
