To answer the original question « are french women overrated? », the answer is yes, France in general is overrated, not only for women. There has been a constant decline in the country since the 80s. There used to be brilliant intellectuals, philosophers, movie directors and some classy masculine actors. Now it’s a mediocracy full of whining betas.
It’s not a surprise that there is this japanese syndrom where japanese people get depressed when they come to live in Paris, the reality is so far from the idealised image they had of the city. Yep the reality is far from Truffaut movies.

Regarding women, it really depends on your tastes, if you like mixed and black women, there are plenty of cute ones, they used to be friendlier than the pure french ones but since a few years their value increased drastically so their attitude changed as well.

Parisians in general aren’t friendly and women are no exception, people overall are courteous (at least in the center of Paris) but very individualistic, unfriendly and selfish.
Girls aren’t friendly in Paris and can shatter your ego if they don’t like you, the thing is you need to display value (like everywhere). I get different results depending on how I’m dressed, people all put each other in boxes and there are indeed some niches.

I agree with the comment above about men here being either ghetto monkeys either white pussies. They represent the majority of men in Paris.
Basically a man from a minority having his shit together, stylish, speaking proper french (those monkeys from the hood all speak the same way) will do well.
Same with a white dude who is man enough to approach a woman with confidence, lead her and isn’t shitting his pants when he faces these ghetto troglodytes, that guy will have success.

I understand the hate toward french girls and I am not trying to defend them, I am myself sick of France and planning to leave even though I recently came back, it’s not a country for ambitious and hard working people, too much jealousy, mediocrity, passivity and bitterness.
Quality of life is better in other regions of France and people are friendlier, the problem is that the country is centralized and if you are a white collar most of the interesting jobs will be in Paris.

Basically in Paris both women and men are assholes, try making friends in this city and you’ll see how difficult it is.

JohnQ is making good observations however the french cuties he refers to won’t be visible and even less accessible to the tourist who is in Paris for a few days.

French girls are overrated but can be extremely satisfying and cute if you know where to look.

Paris is ok because you can find girls from all over France but Lyon and the alps have better cuter more feminine girls. Really all girls I met from there were Porcelain dolls.

I heard good things about Biarritz, Bayonne, Toulouse and the Basque countries also.

My only real complaint about French girls is that they are not really good in bed..but they age very well.

I gamed in Lille and Paris as well as Grenoble and Lyon and of course when traveling and in Montreal (french girls).

Lille girls were a bit more conservative (tinder was not popular when I was there in 2014 yet) and bulkier but loved to drink and party. I found them easy to deal with but some of them didnt really seem super open minded. But there are many girls from the rest of France. I found them colder. Some are really pretty/cute and blonde.

Parisian girls were ok, most knew somebody that went to Montreal to study or live or they went themselves and they all loved it so being a French Canadian was an asset in Paris. There were worldly, I didnt really experience bad attitudes there but game was hard because there's a lot of guys. I had more lays in Paris though than Lille (once per month). Easier to find a niche in Paris than Lille. But I can understand that higher bourgeoisie girl can be hard to deal with or have access to...

The most petite girls I met were from Lyon or the surrounding alpine area and were really cute. They had angel voices and looked like dolls. Not the prettiest but they had that feminine charm that made you feel good as a man.

I have experienced French girls living in another countries to be the sluttiest nation by far. Threesomes, "crush lists", competitions about who gets the most dicks in a period - I have heard of all of them and also experienced some myself.

I went to a party last night here in the Bay Area - most all of the women were French - about 10-12 of them. Observations below:

* fairly attractive - seem to be aging well - mostly women in their 40's
* somewhat goofy at times - like to party, drink and smoke pot
* a bit self-absorbed - as are most women
* good bit of faux cerebral dialogue
* seems like most of them are broke
* hard to put my finger on it - they always seem a bit awkward at times

I am all about conversation and exchange of ideas as well, but I could not agree more with your characterization of faux intellectualizing. The dramatic exclamations of relatively typical thought (especially typical here in the bay area) is rather off-putting. Logic and reason are something that is especially off the table with this set - at least that is my observation.

I have met many Germans, Eastern Europeans, Slavic, Nordic, etc Europeans and they have all been very pleasant. However, the French are the exact opposite.

That was pretty much my experience with them when I still lived in NYC (and I actually can converse in French). The last time I was stood up was by...you guessed it, a French girl. This was a Parisian student who had been in the city for a long-term internship.

I can't comment on the second paragraph since I never encountered enough of those groups.
