RE: NFL thread
When the door opened for the Steelers I kept my mouth shut. Fuking KC almost did it for me and my Steelers. After being pissed off for 5 mins I tip my cap to SD, they should steam roll the shitty ass Bengals and make the AFC picture interesting. Been a River fan for a while, he's been here before so hope they can get a game or two in the AFC.

Sucks for Arizona but happy that ratchet squad isn't around to deal with the Seahawks again.

Lol @ Rogers. I would of thought Cutler first, both of then look like closest queers.

RE: NFL thread
Well I am happy my Chargers made the playoffs but the Bengals have some ballers.

How does Dalton throw four interceptions and they still win the game.

So any bets on whether the Cowboys win later?

RE: NFL thread
^^ I think Orton will get the ball to Bryant better since he has nothing to 'loose', Romo was always suspect in pushing it to Bryant for sometimes obvious reasons. The Cowboys are trash though, I'd much rather see NO go into Philly and toss it around in the cold. That would be a much better game.

In other news if Philly wins... Vick? Will he be a Raider next year or is he done as a starter in the league?

At least it wasn't Cutler that blew the game. If this game was a referendum on whether or not Cutler should get a new deal, or let him walk, I'd give him the deal. The defense coughed this one up.

I hope KC gets rocked in the playoffs. They deserve it for benching their starters against SD.

Bengals take on the Chargers for the Wild Card! The last two years we lost the Wild Card to the Texans (whom aren't even in the playoff picture this season). And four years ago we lost to the Jets in the Wild Card game.

Of course I hope we win, but Dalton and Coach Lewis keep me nervous.

I know the Chargers are 9-7 but that's about it.

You know...I was just thinking that all the Cowboys needed to go to the playoffs was a field goal. I was thinking that Kyle Orton, the consummate game-manager WOULDN'T make that kind of mistake, the kind we're used to seeing Romo make because he'll always force something and try to make the big play. And on the VERY FIRST PLAY OF THE DRIVE, he throws a pick. Wow.

Yeah...you'll probably hear tomorrow that Schwartz is done. He actually did what you need to do with a team with a long history of losing or mediocrity. Change the culture. But he lost control of it, and had too many players that were plain outlaws, doing things that became counterproductive to winning. And one of their own players said it before last week's loss - that they always seemed to come up small in important games. They couldn't seem to make the key play that would lead to winning games.

Definitely, but the bigger issue was the turnovers, particularly Matthew Stafford and his awful decision making at times. While he has a ton of talent he is just too wanton with the ball and his mechanics fall apart at times. Hopefully then Lions bring in someone who is good with QBs or Stafford can expect to get benched down the line. Reggie was also brilliant at times but got supplanted on the depth chart by Joique Bell, due to turnovers which have always plagued in addition to injuries.

^^ iWin - Jim Schwartz had some brain farts coaching and should probably be replaced. How did they lose at home to the Bucs and then call that stupid fake fg at Pittsburgh?

I agree Stafford has talent, but coaching changes need to be made because if he is to improve at managing key situations/games, they'll need a HC who can do the same.

Definitely agree, I'm not defending him by any means. I think he's like 29-45 in his last 5 yrs as coach, with the team really regressing the past few seasons. His time is up.

Apparently, Stafford is a bit of a head case:

"Matthew Stafford hasn’t figured out how he’ll spend the offseason yet, but the Lions quarterback said Friday whatever he does won’t include working with a private throwing coach.

“Probably not,” Stafford said matter-of-factly.

And why not?

“I don’t know,” he said. “Just not something I feel would be my style, beneficial to me, I guess.”

http://www.freep.com/article/20131228/SP.../lions-nfl

Stafford doesn't believe he has any issues with technique, etc. When a young player is unwilling to accept any coaching, you have to wonder. He's definitely talented - he has every physical tool you'd want a QB to have, but there's more to the position than that.

So far, we have Rob Chudzinski (Browns), who got the hook last night. Today, Leslie Frazier (Vikings) and Mike Shanahan (Redskins) have been let go. As of right now, the word is Jim Schwartz is in meetings. The word should come soon.

Also, right off the bat, DeMarco Murray fumbles. He hasn't lost a fumble all season, but he coughs up early in what was basically a playoff game. These kind of things seem to always happen to this team.

No, thank the officials:

1. Illegal formation on FGA (7 men lining up on one side of the center)
2. Fumble on Fake Punt (either its a fumble or if you by forward progress was stopped then he was stopped short of the first down)
3. Defensive holding that should have been called PI on the Chiefs last drive.

Orton was put in positions to fail all game. You could tell the timing was off with the receivers which is expected for a guy that never plays heavy with them. Garrett still calls a Romo style game and tries to make Orton sling it around 50 times. They had no business throwing it that much and should of had more balance. Throwing that much left Orton up to the inevitable late mistake. Garrett's camp calls shit plays. At least Romo always had his option to switch things up but last night was all the coaches and they continue to call shit plays.

This is actually the first time something has swung the Chargers way so I'll take it however we can get it.

There isn't an AFC team sitting at home that deserves a spot more than we do.

Ravens were 1-4 against playoff teams, pumped by Pats and Bengals the last 2 weeks with their season on the line. Dolphins the same, shat the bed vs 2 mediocre teams the last 2 weeks (outscored 39-7).

Funnily enough, San Diego are 5-2 against playoff teams but 2-3 against teams that finished with 4 wins or less. We can beat the Bengals if the playoff pressure doesn't get to Rivers

Well the Chargers are heading back to Cincy for a playoff game, the last time we played them in a playoff game we had probably the best team in the league under Don Coryell. Sadly the weather defeated us that day, I believe it was minus 30 or something crazy like that.
Today's Chargers are a bit of a joke, I wish we still had Brees over Rivers.

Dallas is a joke!

Niners, one of the teams no one wants to play Biggrin

There was some stat mentioned on ESPN that the highest seed in the AFC and NFC for the last three years have gone 3-6 (or something like that) in the playoffs. So go Niners.
