Confirmation texts are a polarizing issue on this forum since some guys are dead set against them but others think it's smart to confirm. I'm in the latter category and always send something to the effect of "looking forward to seeing you tonight at x pm". I never ask if we're still on, I just let them know I'm thinking about our upcoming date.

Most of the time I'll get an enthusiastic and timely response but if it goes more than 2-3 hours after I send it and I was already getting a flake vibe to begin with, I'll be the one to flake on her. If it's a weeknight I'll send a follow up saying my boss just hit me with an urgent project and I need to cancel due to working late. If it's a weekend I'll make up something about helping a friend or family member.

What's even more "ironic" is that when I do go this route almost without fail the woman who was too busy to reply to my confirmation text will get back to me almost as fast as I can send the cancellation.

I think in those circumstances they were about to flake or they were keeping me as a backup plan and holding out for a "better" offer in their mind. Either way I want no part of a woman who thinks of me as their backup option. Next!

Yeah, pretty much about to post in the "I got Flaked on thread" would be funny if I receive a "where are you text".
