Let's gather here and cry a river for Britchard's "innocent English fan". Maybe even mail in a care package of fish and chips. Xoxo.

The transfer merry go round will be interesting. I hope Real sign Courtois, personally because I want Liverpool to sign Alisson. Hope we tie up Fekir too and our squad will be in great shape. We do need to prune some squad players like Sturridge, Origi, Ings. Will be interesting to see who Madrid sign. I reckon they've got over £250m to spend considering their net spend over the past 2 years (around £90m profit from transfers plus the Ronaldo fee now). They've already spent £80m of it on young players.

There's some big underlying problems at Chelsea, I've seen one of their fans with a financial blog talk about how much trouble they could be in with Roman's reluctance to fund the club (he's still giving them around £40m a year) and now his visa problems. They just scrapped their stadium plans too due to the financial constraints. Will be interesting to see who they flog. Hazard, Courtois, Willian, Morata look like prime sales, I've seen Barcelona want Willian - whoever has been managing their transfer strategy for the last 3 years needs to be shot.

Sooo...no Peter Crouch to Chelsea, then?
rottenapple · 2018-07-15 17:30:00 · #3828
From what you can gather from post WC interviews, Hazard has indeed made his mind up about leaving. The only question now is who will pay the no doubt very high transfer sum after his brilliant world cup. Real Madrid is the most likely, I can see them going for a package deal with Courtois, who also stated that a transfer is possible, that he and Hazard are a team and that his kids are the most important (they live in Madrid). We will know soon, I'm sure. Barcelona also interested, but I think it's less likely.

One can only assume that the Italians were extremely provoked by this hard-working 53 year old father of 3, they were in no way seeking trouble and the only reason this happened is because they were in England.

And interestingly enough, those Roma fans never attacked any other fans in Europe whatsoever. They didn't play only Liverpool until Champions League semi-final, am I right? They played 5-6 teams in the same competition but somehow, there was no trouble between Roma fans and other fans.

Always with Liverpool fans and I mean, Liverpool fans, who killed +40 people in Heysel. Ring a bell?

I don't think Roma fans ever killed +40 innocent fans. Did they?

Rossi and his little butt buddy Padrone are still stinking up the football threads by constantly posting about how much they hate the English.

Celebrating English fans being put in a coma, mocking others for having sympathy for them? Huh

You're so mad about some shit that happened in the eighties, that your hatred drives you to post daily on RVF about it.

No one who lives a good life gets so angry about such trivial things. Instead of worrying about evil 80s English football hooligans, maybe work on getting laid more often and improving your obviously shitty life.

Do I have to like every nationality in this world? I don't think, it's mandatory. As an English, you guys are holding the record in football, at least in Europe, biggest massacre by killing 39 innocent people. Of course, I'm talking about 80's, why can't I talk about that? I didn't start disliking English yesterday, it comes from 90's and 80's for sure. Killing people in 80's don't count now?

Did Italians team ever get banned 5 years from all European competitions? No. What about English teams? Yes, they faced the biggest ban in Europe for past 60 years.

And, you're coming here to give us an lecture about hooliganism? mrgreen

If Chelsea fans get attacked by police in Barcelona, Arsenal fans getting beaten by Madrid police, if Roma fans fight Liverpool fans, you should take a look at yourself because Barcelona and Roma also played against each other, nothing happened.

English people are the last people in Europe who should be complaining about hooliganism. It's as funny as German people talking about human rights.

Good luck to you, leaving imaginary negative feedback to people when you lose the debate. mrgreen

Would it be a good idea to have a sports sub forum to put all the sporty threads?

And maybe a music sub forum for all music related topics?

Ozil retired from Germany last night due to racism from German Football Federation. This shit is awesome mrgreen Many people expect Federation President to resign now.

Roma making more money from Liverpool than any other source of income. Annual revenue about £220m. Liverpool paying £101m for two very good players - Salah & Alisson.

Roma fans are saying, their stadium construction is sponsored by Liverpool. Mille grazie. mrgreen

Õzil can suck a dick. He kinda looks like a tranny anyway.

A player with enormous potential who never became as good as he could have been due to getting addicted to the party lifestyle once his ugly ass finally started getting laid. In general just av vain, selfish crybaby and now he's whining about muh racism after fellating Erdogan and playing a big role in Germany's clusterfuck World Cup. Fuck that guy.

Serie A is a tough league.
Teams are very tactical, defenders are harsh and will do everything to not let anyone score.
Ronaldo to Juve is a great boost for the morale of the Serie A since the lack of money there has made that few italians team win in Europe, well you can make a case that Juve has done pretty good the last years but it's just Juve.
The golden era of Ac Milan has ended and the rest of the teams make an appearance once in a while (see Roma last year).
Ronaldo and Messi scoring 40+ goals per season will never happen in serie A.

It's a fun league to watch!
Rossi · 2018-07-26 11:44:00 · #3841
I think Ronaldo will score 30-35 goals in Serie A but I don't think he'll reach 55-60 goal mark like he did in Spain.
Teedub · 2018-07-26 13:13:00 · #3842
Ronaldo never scored that amount of goals in La Liga alone, his 50+ numbers included his domestic cup and European cup totals. I think his totals over all comps each year will probably be around the 40 mark, which would still be phenomenal at 33-3 years old. If he can do 50 again then wow, hats off to him.

He never became as good as he could? Dude played at Real Madrid, he won World Cup, by playing every match for Germany in 2014 in Brazil. I don't understand what you wanted him to become.

He is the most followed German player on social media. He also won 4 times, German player of the year.

I just don't understand how much fuss these Germans make, just because he took a picture with Erdogan. I mean, was he supposed to get a permission from Germany to take a picture in his private life? Mattheus took a picture with Putin, so?

Muller couldn't even score 1 goal for Germany, Neuer some dumb shit against Korea but yet, they all blame it on Ozil.

He scored 3 times 40+...in 2015 was 48 in the league alone, 5 hits above Messi's 43, and yet the latter won the Balon d'or for Barcelona winning the CL that year.

Teedub - I am surprised as a United fan you don't like Ronaldo.

He became a legend at Man U, I remember his first game against Bolton.

The EPL lost out big time when he left, I was sad to see him leave. I support Arsenal, but I am a fan of great players like him.

He can shoot on his left, his right, head a ball, bicycle kick. The complete player, unlike you know who. Lol

England - Conquered.

Spain - Conquered.

Italy - I will be willing to bet he conquers that league as well. These aren't the glory days for Serie A.

I don't know about you guys, but club soccer feels boring right after the world cup. Most of the big leagues championships will be settled by March, and group play in the CL is awfully tedious.

I dunno, Liverpool look capable of finally winning this time round. No way City can have a season as dominant as last season's. United could fall away again...it'll be interesting to see how the signings go.

Haha, he's genuinely my favourite football player currently playing — and has been for the past decade. People on here who know me in real life joke with me that I'm a Ronaldo fanboy (I did indeed buy a Juventus top). Where on earth did you get the impression I don't like him? I simply made an error over his totals in regards to his La Liga goals.

As I said a month ago in the World Cup thread(s), I'm so used to defending him from Liverpool/Barca/Messi trolls, it felt weird sticking up for Messi against you. I think him and Messi are the best ever, and I've said that to you before - so I was genuinely baffled when I read "Teedub - I am surprised as a United fan you don't like Ronaldo."
