Atletico would be hardest draw for Juventus. Because the way they play is not really what Juve want.

Atletico and Juve were in same group 2 years ago and Atletico won 1-0 first game and it was 0-0 draw in Italy as far as I remember.

I hope Juve either get Real Madrid or Monaco. Juve can pass those teams easily, but I definitely don't want Atletico Madrid.

First time in half a decade that we have a semi-final with only one of the traditional top 3 in there. About time for a new winner

I feel Juve are best equipped to eliminate Madrid in a 2-legged tie.

Funnily, I also think if Monaco are to reach the final, Madrid are the most ideal opponent for the semis as they are open and prone to being countered, whereas Atleti and Juve would just stifle them.

All in all, anything but a Madrid derby for the final.

So, where is Paris Saint Germain from? I couldn't find it in Dubai but in Paris.

Who was their coach up until last year? Wasn't it Blanc? Was Blanc French? So, PSG were French up until last year and they changed identity when they got Emery, now they're Spanish? I like your logic, bro.

I like your logic too, bro. PSG does not represent anything French, and the Juve itself represents little of Italia (only what, 2 old, slow Italian defenders, plus grand-daddy Buffon, on the pitch).

Athletico Madrid (full of serious, humble Spanish or Spanish-descendant players) on the other hand, does represent Spain with dignity and honor.

The Bosman decision opened the door of European football to Globalist evil investors and an invasion of African players with little technical genius.

Obviously, you didn't attend to much of PSG games. I went to 2 games for PSG this year. PSG ultras are known as one of the most racist ultras in whole France, along with St Etienne.

And, they, for sure, don't share same opinion as you. They are French team and they play for Ligue 1.

According to your amazing logic,

Man City is not an English team since they have Guardiola. Owner is Arab.

Arsenal is not an English team. They have Wenger and Kroenke American owner.

Man Utd is not an English team. They have Mourinho and Glazer, American owner.

Chelsea is not an English team. They have Conte and Russian owner.

See a pattern or should I continue? Because I can give you 10-15 more examples of this.

You don't need bunch of native players and coach to show identity on the pitch. English players suck and they are horrible. Why should English teams get majority of their team players from England? They are horrible.

This is not politics, this is football.

If you also go watch EuroLeague in European basketball, you'll see that most teams have black American players because they are good at what they do.

Do not mix sports with politics. These 2 things are totally different.

Quoting you: "This is not politics, this is football.

This is absolutely not true. Football is politics, much much more than it is sports.

To begin with, referees are often bought (by local governments) for important games. La Remontada was made possible by referees, Brazil was helped on home-soil by the referee during last World Cup's opener, it was painfully obvious.

Also, football is systematically used by politicians to push their (usually globalist) agendas and foster their careers... some even start as football club presidents, to end up country president or finance minister... No sport is more politicized in the world, than football.

(And don't forget that the crooked Fifa, when not busy doctoring the draws, pushes its Globalist agenda, very actively, around the world, while at the same time stealing tons of money - how many Fifa dudes are processed or in jail for embezzlement?)

In case you hadn't realised yet, Rossi has had several traumatic run ins with English football fans; notable events include having a beer- loving England fan take a shit on his doorstep, having a Chelsea fan urinate on his Vespa followed by walking in on a Man City fan shag his girlfriend.

I want Atleti to win now. Supported them against Real in the finals of 2014 and 2016, they are a proper club.

Also agree with pretty much all of what Going Strong has said.

I agree with Going Strong regarding the Bosman ruling, yes, it opened the floods of not only Africans, but mainly Brazilians and other South American players of dubious quality, and created a new class of globettroting and shady sport agents leeching the clubs but also the players, mainly the ones not on the top of the professional game.

European clubs always had international players in their squads, and many great squads in history where complemented and went to the next level of quality by the addition of these players, there are countless examples from the great Real Madrid of the 50s with Di Stefano (Argentina) and Puskas (Hungary), the Inter of the 60s with Jair (Brazil) and Suarez (Spain), the great Benfica of the 60s with the players from former Portuguese colonies like Eus茅bio or Coluna, even though also British but the Liverpool of the 70s and 80s was filled with the cream of the crop from Scotland like Dalglish, Souness, Hansen, the Juventus squad of the 80s with Boniek (Poland) and Platini (France), 1987 FC Porto with Rabah Madger (Argelia), the dutch trio of Rijkaard, Van Basten and Gullit in the superb AC Milan of Sacchi, the Dream Team of Cruyjf's Barcelona with Koeman (Netherlands), Laudrup (Denmark), Stoichkov (Bulgaria) and lately completed with Romario (Brazil)...But all of this teams kept their local identity and strong backbone of local players. Nowadays with very few exceptions, clubs (and even National Teams!) are authentic societies of nations. But the truth is that money rules, and when looking at the most successful FC Porto team in history (2002 to 2004), it was overwhelming Portuguese, below is the team that won the 2004 Champions League final in wich 9 of 11 players are Portuguese, even the bench is majority Portuguese... But how many stayed for the next season?

I think it's worrying that French football teams are now overwhelmingly black. For example Monaco has only 3 white players, Rennes has 2... And as usual when whites are underrepresented, no one calls for more diversity.

Why is it so worrying?

The top players who are of African descent usually represent the French national team and help them win titles. Since you are talking about Monaco, Mbappe is a good case in point, an 18 yo who is currently one of the best forwards in the continent. He's a black French citizen who is representing France... I think that imposing quota based on citizenship especially at the youth level could have a positive effect on the level of national teams but I doubt that associations will implement such a measure.

Also if there was one country who benefited from immigration when it comes to soccer, it's France... Raymond Kopa, best player in the 50's ballon d'or winner, Polish immigrant. Michel Platini, 3x ballon d'or winner Italian descent. And, their best player so far Zidane, Algerian descent. Also, their only World cup was won by Frenchs of African descent.

As a black African I sympathise. If an African team had Asian players people would complain. The South African rugby and cricket team are mainly white and that is problematic for some people. But hey, there is no nepotism in sport and the best always come out on top.
Skank_Hunt 路 2017-04-21 03:45:00 路 #3165
The referee against Bayern was shocking. All things considered they are the best team in the tournament. It was fortunate for all the other teams they were eliminated by means of two red cards, two or three offside goals etc. You can't say Real Madrid is better than Bayern, 7-8 out of 10 ties Bayern would go through against Real. I would say of all the teams remaining Juventus are the best.

If Bayern were still in the mix, I'd say Bayern would be the only team better on balance than Juventus. Now Bayern has been eliminated, the cup is for Juventus to lose, in my opinion. Of course, underestimated in this competition is Luck, it's not as long as a league where things tend to even themselves out over many games. For example Monaco could beat Juventus if Monaco has great luck and some terrible referee decisions in their favor, despite Juventus being the best side of the four remaining. If all things, luck and referees, are equal, Juventus will win it.

One positive of this season's CL is that video assisted referee technology is now going to be trialled. These kinds of crazy decisions as in 6-1 for Barca or 4-2 for Real the other day made it very clear. I was still surprised how forthright Ancelotti was with the comments about the referee, usually managers and players are punished severely for such damning comments. Maybe UEFA will respond with a punishment yet but maybe they won't because they know how badly they messed up. At least Juventus put a comfortable end to Barca's illegitimate place in the QF. Surprisingly solid referee for that game, MSN diving and screaming as usual but that guy was having none of it. The next step is to routinely book players who pull this kind of crap. Right now there is still nothing to discourage cheating behavior. Hopefully with video assisted referee technology and a review of all this cheating nonsense (Barca really make "the beautiful game" look quite bad and embarrassing, to be honest), then soccer will take an important step forward for the better.

Congratulations to Monaco and Juventus for being excellent in their own individual ways in this tournament. Though Higuain needs to start scoring in these big European games. He cost nearly as much as Pogba and scuffs everything, he still looks a bit fat too.

Its part of a wider topic. I'm completely against genuine racism/race hate. But I'm also against discrimination against whites and the ugly idiocy of "political correctness".

I was disgusted recently to hear about homosexual child abuse being uncovered in English football.
Later that week, all English premier clubs were part of a disgusting campaign to promote homosexuality, transsexualism and all that sickness eg to kids.

With my national team, many/most of the players are of W Indian/African descent. Different races have different physiology, so in the sporting sense, its hard for me, as a player, to identify with players I could never emulate. Also, I notice how amongst themselves, many 2nd/3rd gen immigrants often call themselves "Jamaican" etc, not even "black British".

Clearly football has been hijacked by the leftist liberal elite and the right's free market globalist elite. And all their so called "politically correct" agendas. I'd be disgusted if I had kids who had to listen to their antics.

The elite wants to promote this "multiculturalism" by filling teams (esp national teams) with non indigeneous players. I mean you can't sing anything at football nowadays without fear of being banned. (Liverpool said that the comment "play like a girl" could earn a ban!) Also, football clubs recruit from a ridiculously early age. Often they choose kids with "nothing to lose" ie poor kids from places with shit schools rather than those who's families have college/white collar aspirations. The problem is that these kids might be great at 11 yrs in an academy. But that means clubs miss out on those who could become superstars at 18 years, the ones who chose to get an education - instead of the "all or nothing approach". Myself and friends were actively dissuaded from football as a career and we were told "its only for dim kids". Erm dim kids on 150k euros a week?

Anyway, I'm not even sure if this approach to player development benefits black kids as a whole. Maybe it reinforces the idiotic idea that black kids can only be good athletes/footballers/musicians etc?

Finally, I think sports science is heavily biased against whites. Esp in sprinting and the like.
Different types respond to different training and development. More and more, the training is geared for West Indians/West African genetics, not other groups. Likewise with the development culture. That white sprinter for France is always portrayed as the "exception to the rule" - how ridiculous!

So managers/coaches are lazy. A new one comes in and says "right I want a French African, a Viera type as key in midfield". Whats wrong with a "Lothar Mattheus, a Steven Gerrard, a Roy Keane, a Graham Souness, a Michel Platini type"?

I think the recent Switzerland Albania game summed it all up.
In the starting 11s, seven Swiss players were actually Albanians. And six Albanians were Swiss citizens.
What the fuck....???

Champions League 2016 Winner:

Real Madrid

Navas (Costa Rica)
Pepe (Portugal)
Ramos (Spanish)
Ronaldo (Portugal)
Kroos (Germany)
Benzema (France)
Bale (Wales)
Marcelo (Brazil)
Casemiro (Brazil)
Carvajal (Spain)
Modric (Croatia)

Coach: Zidane (France)

As you can see, only 2/12 are Spanish. Only Carvajal and Ramos. Even coach is French. Who's the winner of Champions League? Real Madrid. You don't need bunch of native players and coach to show identity on the pitch as I told you before.

Give me Ronaldo or Messi, I wouldn't care about Italians and I'll win Champions League with them. So, it's not about playing with only Italians.

You're complaining about PSG are not being French but obviously you didn't even take a look at their line-ups ever. They're more French than Real Madrid are Spanish.

Wrong again. You don't even know the squad of PSG. They have way many more French players than Rabiot. This is their 11 against Barcelona (which was the match of their season):

PSG:

Trapp (Germany)
Kimpembe (France)
Marquinhos (Brazil)
Verratti (Italy)
Cavani (Uruguay)
Di Maria (Argentina)
Meunier (Belgium)
Matuidi (France)
Kurzawa (France)
Draxler (Germany)
Rabiot (France)
Emery (Spain)

4/12 French.

Unfortunately, the quotas have fucked that up for RSA.

Especially for rugby and cricket.

The difference between a white South African rugby team and a black French football team is merit.

The French players are there on accord of merit. There is no 'law' that stipulates an X amount of black/white/green players need to be fielded, unlike RSA national sporting laws; looking at you Fikile Mbalula (who is now minister of police or some shit).

As for Switzerland, it's obvious ethnicity issues and Albania was never a colony. It just part of their immigration, not sporting law.

Anyways.

Juve to win Champions League.

Monaco will have a tough time again their defence. City and Dortmund gifted them goals and they punished them. I doubt Juve will make the same errors.

Atletico vs Real could go either way. I definitely see Real edging them over the two encounters, especially with the refs in their pockets.

Atletico don't create enough chances but that being said, their style suits Real.

Absorbing pressure and hitting on the counter; Atletico still has one of the top 3 defenses in Europe with Juve being no. 1.

Great match-ups.

As an United fan, I would rather not discuss Europa.

We are lucky to get Celta over Lyon/Ajax and should, on paper, win it but our squad is being stretched with injuries and we can't finish any chances.

They just don't seem hungry enough.

Who cares.

French of black ethnicity are French, and representing France.
If you don't like it then too bad. They are here to stay, and will. Look, a black player from Bissau Guinea won the European Championship for Portugal. Do they care about his ethnicity? Compared to, say 2004 Portugal squad? Probably not.

Why not just give up and unit behind the heart and feelings of representing the same country? Look, France won the 98 World Cup with people from African origin. And no one gives a fuck.

I do agree that a french team should probably not be composed of 11 black/maghrebian players. However, even if it was the case, that starting 11 represents the best 11 players against that given opposing team. And they and their family will equally rejoice as you when they win the game. Why be so hung up on race? When they are just looking forward the bringing the higher possible the bleu blanc rouge colours?

Dnipro who were in EL final a couple of years ago, are in the relegation zone (Looks like they really went to shit after Konoplyanka' departure), whereas Metallist Kharkiv who were regulars in knock out rounds of Europa League now don't even exist anymore.

Fucking hell....

By the way, Good to see Shakhtar now plays their home games in Kharkiv as opposed to Lvov. Much closer to Donbass. Speaking of which, what a stadium Donbass Arena is. Really hope it'll be hosting football matches again soon in the near future.

Dnipro and Metalist both got bankrupted. I think UEFA gave them, some absurd fine, as to start -15 points to start the league or something if I recall correctly.

Their training grounds even got seized by Ukraine Government or something. I remember reading few articles.
