Leptospirosis data sheet
I caught leptospirosis on a recent trip in The Philippines. Its the worst thing Ive ever dealt with.

I plan to elaborate about sickness and humanity and family and friends and whatnot. If in the meante you have questionS for a lepto please ask them.

There's a lot of threads and private messages on this forum i owe responses to and will get to.

Today is the first day in over a month I've felt normal. Im just real fucking happy to be alive. So i thought id say hello.

Aloha!

Sorry to hear that man, glad you're feeling better. What were your symptoms? I had never heard about it and just looked it up. It looked like there were a wide variety of symptoms. From what I read, it seems that there's a wide range of symptoms ranging from people not even realizing they have it, to severe headaches, muscle aches, vomiting, chills, diarrhea, and a bunch of other stuff.

I had all those. The worst was the massive fever that made me hallucinate. Not in a good way.

The strange thing was how fast they'd come and go. At one point id have a massive sore throat, then a few hours later it would be gone. It started as a headache and went downhill.

And mahalo for the concern. Trust me when i say I'm truly happy to be alive.

Aloha!

You're very lucky to be alive. I know a few people who have died.

Worse is, once it starts damaging your kidneys you're done.

It's most commonly transmitted by making contact with mice (most commonly infected animal) urine. How did you catch it?

How long did it take for symptoms to get worse? How fast did antibiotics started working? Doxycicline? IV or oral? Did it cause any permanent damagE?
Sorry for all the questions, but it's something I find interesting, as I've seen it, and heard of it.

Glad you're okay.

It's a water born disease, I remember when I worked in the water industry it was the one thing we told about. As soon as we had any flu type symptoms we had a to report it and get tested for Lepto
