Didnt see the data sheet threads before, I will add my 3 cents there...

Like alot of people who come here , many of my first mini vaca's (3- 6 week stints) were defined EVERY day by sleeping in till late afternoon , chilling and gearing up for nighttime fun and usually ended up out till 3 am or later chasing chicks and partying . Cowboy, Pattaya , and the beach fun spots are "must do's" imo , tons of fun shoring every night and usually meeting and making friends with guys from all over. Of course, for long term living and surviving , you cant keep that pace up.

Now that I have made the move over, I usually get out 3-4 nights a week, but only 1 is a dusk till dawner anymore. There are tons of places to go in and around Bangkok. I make it down to the expat areas a lot less now but still enjoy them when I go. Many times I end up at more local places partying "thai style" with friends, usually bringing or keeping a bottle at a favorite bar/restaurant or club. Saves a ton of dough and its loads of fun. Easy to invite girls to the table in these joints. Keep in mind most of these places are nice like the foreign frequented places, just not alot of tourists visit them.

I dont speak much Thai at all, but its usually never a problem . Just using a big smile and alot of body language goes a long way.

Also , traffic SUCKS when you live here full time. Stick to the BTS and MRT whenever possible, and save the taxis for nightlife. I have to travel around the city sometimes during the day and hour long jams are the norm.

Online dating tip-

It seems from my experience and talking to others here that older chicks ( 27+) are much less problematic and superficial then their younger online sisters. And there are a ton of thirty something girls in Bkk that are fine! The "online" youngsters are too unpredictable and not worth chasing usually , better to stick with offline game if thats your target .

Thanks for posting here man. BKK is truly an addictive city. I initially wanted to stay 1 month in BKK, 1 month in Phuket/islands and 1 month in Chang Mai, but I was having so much fun in BKK and love it so much that I ended up staying there 90% of my time and only towards the end, I had to drag myself out of it, to at least spend a week in Phuket. LOL Whereabout in BKK do you stay? I did search for aparts but didn't pursue it much as I was too lazy staying at my hotel in Sukhumvit. When you wrote you're paying 200/month for your apart, what is the length of the contract you signed to get that deal? I also did see some aparts for 200 and even some for 150-180, but they were mainly a studio, with a bed and nothing else inside. I'd want a little more confort and I'm willing to spend up to 500-600/month for a comfortable pad. Ideally, I'd sign a 6 months contract. Any suggestions for reputable sites/real estate agencies in BKK?

Agreed with you about the older girls being fine. As a matter of fact, a few times I got fooled, thinking a girl was 19 or 20 while in fact, she was 29-30+ and even one chick, whom I thought was 24-25, turned out to be 42!!! Asian women and Thais and Japanese in particular, age very well and stay sexy and youthfull well into their mid-40 and some even, believe it or not, into their 50's. At one time, even one of my neighbours here was a Japanese woman who was 66, but she looked like 35 tops. Incredible! Gotta love asian women. What a contrast to white women!LOL

Hey VP, did you ever end up going to Koh Lanta? I'm heading out there in a week mostly due to the beauty of the locale. I need relaxation over poon right now but wouldn't mind going crazy a couple of nights.

Unfortunately, didn't make it to Koh Lanta even tough I did want to go but each time, something came up and I got dragged in a different direction. But I keep hearing it's a ton of fun. Please do report with your findings and a good data sheet. How long you're staying there?
