Please don't tell me that it's not just them being utterly insane. Other than citizen's arrest, surely there are no "bounty hunting licenses" around?

A bail-jumper is a fugitive without customary civil rights. If you see someone commit a felony then you can do a citizen's arrest. An escaped prisoner is committing a felony by being outside prison.

But this case is messed up. The guy did not jump bail, and was not informed that the company chose to revoke bond. The women did not identify themselves. The restaurant should sue them for endangering customers.

They look as authoritative as 5 year olds playing cops and robbers with pretend guns. I laughed so hard I cried when the one middle aged "bounty hunter" was thrown to the ground as the guy escaped in his car despite being outnumbered 4:1.
