You know, I work in customer service and being nice really helps. If people are fucking pricks, I do as little as possible to help them.

What's funny is that I used to be the biggest prick to customer service, but now I'm GENERALLY pretty nice due to my experiences in the field.

You know, I work in customer service and being nice really helps. If people are fucking pricks, I do as little as possible to help them.

I can attest to what you are saying. People and even I used to think that being mean and yelling at the CSRs is the best way to get what you want. I have found that being nice and firm actually helps me get whatever I want. Anytime the phone/internet/any other company fucks up your bill, call them and be calm and collected. I always request them for a "gesture of goodwill" and not only do they reverse the errors without a fuss I always end up getting additional money off my bill for that month. I have that done 2-3 times now.

When people are aggressive and even if the company did screw them over, they need to remember that the person they are talking to had nothing to do with it and for the most part when your company screws up, you do wanna help. However, being a prick to people will turn them off or make them not wanna help you.

This would work as well as trying to tell hungry girls in Thailand, Philippines, Cuba etc to put foreign guys into line on any B.S. or bad/weird attitude or behaviour. They are the prized foreign guy entering the bar/disco while we are the gaggle of desperate hookers vying for their attention.

This is why the baseline in Toronto/GTA ("905") with girls is little/no charm or personableness--they don't need it and there is little/no detriment to being a bitch/copping attitude/being non-social when there is a new guy/clique hungry for you around every corner.
