I was in Barcelona in 2015 and can confirm it's one of the better places in Europe for hooking up (and I wasn't even using Tinder either). I remember meeting a fair deal of Moroccan women and they were sexually very liberal (which caught me by surprise thinking North African women would be conservative).

So it's arguably one of the best places to get an Arab / Muslim flag.

It kind of seems like a confirmation bias because I think many women explicitly go there (and allegedly the Greek islands too?) just for 'romance tourism' (hookups and sex in all but name).

but I didn't like the food in Barcelona (the tapas concept of ordering overpriced small dishes just doesn't appeal to me).

For some reason I haven't felt an urge to return. But I guess if live in Britain or France then repeated trips would make sense imho. If I was a British person I would choose Barcelona over the Baltic or Poland anyday.

I can’t share the enthusiasm of many members for Barcelona, I spent a week there on my own 10 years ago and didn’t like it so much. It felt like a tourist trap and locals only « tolerated» foreigners, it felt a bit like Paris where people are cold, unfriendly and are sick of tourists.

Women wise I remember a lot of short latina built like potatoes and occasionally some pretty spanish chicks, most of them giving you the cold shoulder if you approach them in the street.
I was there just for tourism but quickly got bored, many things to see, good food, good weather...but too many tourists and non receptive girls, although I only approached 2 or 3.
Also wasn’t speaking spanish, was staying in a hostel with a mixed group of spanish which were probably the most antipathic people I ever met, very suspicious, like « why is this guy on his own? » it was just them and me in the room and one of the girls even went to the reception to ask for my name instead of directly asking me or engaging a conversation. I am not even a creepy weirdo, in which case I could understand...these spanish narrow minded bastards made me feel so uncomfortable that I asked to change room, I then was with a mixed group of american and belgians, it was way better, we immediately socialized and all went out together at night.

I also found the city to be invaded with Starbucks, burger king and mc donalds, that was 10 years ago so it must be worse today.

Because of this I never bothered to come back, a few years later I went to Malaga and it was so much better, warmer people, girls more receptive (basically warmer but still very difficult, at least they were nice),laid back people with a kind of lazy careless vibe that I liked.
Even got engaged by a group of spanish girls on the beach, the ugly one was into me and made no mystery about it, we became friends and we hanged out multiple times, one of the girls even invited me a few times at her place, a house where the whole family lives, the whole family was so warm and nice, they showed an amazing sense of hospitality. That girl had a boyfriend who was also a nice guy, there was no ambiguity or game involved, just nice and warm locals befriending a foreigner, that was awesome. We stayed in touch a few years.

2 years later I went back in october and hooked up with a cute argentinian girl...my only lay in Spain

I also visited Alicante, Madrid and Valencia, all for a weekend, Malaga is my favorite place so far.

I'm fluent in Spanish but most of the women I approached there were non-Spanish. Usually in these touristy cities the locals are too busy working to be gamed I think. So I ended up with mainly Moroccans and some American and German tourists.

There is a big North African community in Barcelona so you'll cross into some Magrebi girl at some point if you are there long enough.
Many of them have been living in Spain since they were young and are integrated, so you can find them in parties etc. They usually speak perfect Spanish so it can be a bit hard to tell them apart from natives if they don't have strong Arabic features.

Day game was what worked best for me, night game is great too in BCN and pulled a few ONS but I did not have the energy to go out every night.
If you're concerned about language focus on tourists there is a shit load of them anyway, around Gothic is easier to find English speakers than Spanish one..

Barcelona is good for quick hook-ups, don't expect relationships. Not sure why you guys say it's not good for daygame, I think it's one of the best cities for that because you have decent weather from spring to autumn, a beach with tons of girls going back and forth and a very crowded shopping area in the center, 20 minute walk from the beach. You don't need Spanish since most girls in the center are tourists, it can certainly help but it's not a pre-requisite. It's also big enough to avoid bumping into the same crowd every night.
I think a lot guys make the mistake of hitting the beach clubs such as Opium and Shoko. Those are the worst places to go with high bitch shields and shit ratios.

Here goes..

Background: Trying to be humble and realistic about myself... I dress very nice. I'm a black male, late 20s. athletic build (lift weights some ppl look at me like a bodybuilder style body) but I'm floating around 18%bf right now trying to slim down....

Anyways:

I got good vibes from Barcelona. I went out to nightclubs a lot. I'm pretty sure the vibes were mostly from tourist. I was at the bar and tons of cute ladies were eye f'n me but I couldn't game them obviously. Take it with a grain of salt though bc I was with a pretty hot chic and some ladies show more attraction to a dude with a girl than a dude without (especially in my experience).

Attractiveness of girls in Barcelona: This wasn't a city where the women were thicker than a snicker type of sexy. It was more slim, cute face type. They dress well. It had a NYC vibe but more laid back like LA without the "I'm hollywood" snobby vibe of the west coast. I'm sure the women are approachable but you'd be good to know spanish. It seems like we were the only ones speaking English. There were non spanish speakers but they were speaking some other language. A lot of latin americans were over there. Specifically colombians, Venezuela.

Treatment as a black American: My treatment was great. I only received one dirty look from another tourist who was probably from France. I took it with a grain of salt. Most blacks there were from Africa and they were on the bottom of society there. Selling fake jordans and necklaces and stuff by the beach. I'm not dark skin, more brown skin and if my mouth wasn't moving, I could've been mistaken for an African. The minute I open my mouth, there's nothing but love. I was never refused service anywhere. They also didn't assume I couldn't afford anything (probably bc the way I dress). Most ppl knew I was American and attempted to speak English although some would see us and start speaking Spanish (probably bc the girl I'm with looks Dominican). It was a very safe city. It looks grimey/seedy because it's old but it's one of the safest places I've been. I had on jewelry on and never got a vibe that someone wanted to rob me.

Anyways, put this place on your list. It's definitely my favorite city. Prices were comparison to any non tier 1 american city. Think Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Philly. Not a huge savings but not astronomical prices like NYC, MIA either.

Anyway, will be in Barcelona for 3 nights in mid October.

Will be in a hostel and I want to know if its easier to get girls from hostel or locals. In the trips I did recently hostel girls seem more open.

I say this not necessarily to get laid but can just be a hookup. Obvious want to get laid but 4 days in a city isnt much.

What's the best things to do there?

^ +1 everything he said. I've never done a hostel but I'm now very interested in doing it. The revelation came to me on a trip to LA. We did one of the most tourist things ever but it was much easier meeting girls doing the tourist thing (dubai chicks) than anything else we tried.

Search for a hostel that frequently has ladies. Definitely do the pub crawls and I'm sure you can check ahead of time to see if there's any single ladies going out on the pub crawl that particular night.

As far as Barcelona, there were tons of women but none of them seemed to be locals. Hang around Las Ramblas, El Gotic, El Born, and Barceloneta. You will see nothing but tourist but tourist honestly seem more down to clown. The closest you may come to a local is a chic from somewhere else in Spain visiting Barcelona.

Avoid strip clubs. "Strip tease" is way better in the USA. Strip clubs in barcelona are just overpriced brothels and there's better options if you are looking for something like that.

Yes but the party reputation is attracting to much men lately. Anyway, the pubcrawls are funny, but they have guest control, so you can't pull to there except if the girl is sleeping there as well.

What I usually do now in BCN is to book an apartment or an hotel and still go to hostel pubcrawls if i feel like it. Or split your trip 50/50 hostel/apartment.

I finished a recent trip to Barcelona and found it to ultimately be a disappointment as it didn't live up to my preconceived expectations. However, here are some things that I discovered:

1. The outdoor cafe and restaurant scene in Barcelona is not as good as other Spanish cities as the seating tends to be closed off by some kind of a screen in many places. This made it a little harder to approach than other cities but maybe your experience may vary.

2. I struggled to find traction at daygame here because it was harder to find women that were stopped to talk with. I seemed to have lower success rates than usual approaching women who were walking the street. I shifted my attention over to approaching at various tourist sites. I found La Sagrada Familia not be a particularly good one because it is was overly hot with little shade when I visited and most of the folks were in large groups. However, I did find success meeting women outside looking at the Casa Batlló during the afternoon and its respective metro stop across the street. Someone had mentioned that metro stops could be a good place and I believe this to be true as you will have people who will come out of the metro to check their phone, the metro map or take a pause before continuing on.

Another place that I found to be good was the newsstand shops or similar where they have some trinkets as some women will browse and it is easy enough to start conversations with them in these situations. The Mercat de la Boqueria has potential as well but I found the best spots there were were there were some opens where women could congregate or around the edge where you could also find women eating or talking. Other places it would get too congested to strike up long enough conversations and they would be more easily distracted by all the ongoings.

Finally, I liked approaching along the waterfront especially on the pier and bridge during the evening. I believe the Parc de la Ciutadella has potential as well but was too hot during my time to test it. Las Ramblas was a little too dense although I saw people do approaches here. I would instead do approaches off one of the side streets of Las Ramblas or in the Picasso Museum or something similar where it is a little less hectic. One street I liked was Passeig de Gràcia as this is a shopping district that includes lots of folks. Other places that I looked at but didn't have the foot traffic when I visited included Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and the walk areas around it, Plaza de toros de las Arenas, Plaça d'Espanya, and some of their lookout points the names of which I have now forgotten.
