What are some good ideas for restart texts? The main drawback of Tinder is that since 95% of its based on a couple photos, it makes it difficult to come up with interesting messages. Especially when you're dealing with girls who give simple answers. Sometimes I'll answer something colorfully and drop nuggets for her to probe further and she fails to. For example, instead of saying, "I came out here from California" I'll say something like, "I always dreamed of taking a road trip and decided to do it, but I left California in the middle of winter and it turned out to be a crazy journey(paraphasing)". The girl didn't even ask what crazy happened. She could've asked me at least several things based off that one sentence. But nothing. This was a cute girl that messaged me first. I try to reply in ways that offer up material that the girl can respond to and lead to a more fun chat. But many chics are just not that good in conversational skills. So sometimes conversations just die out because the girl is too damn boring to offer up anything. At the same time, this could be pussy I'm leaving on the table so I might as well keep pushing until they block me.

What do you guys write when the messages seem to be fizzling out? To breathe some life back into the chat. I'm feeling stumped at the moment...

"hey (her name) what up...haven't been on here in a while. Been busy with work... anyway, I'm free XyZ day, let's grab drinks."

"hey (her name) what up..just catching up on here. warming, just know I suck at messaging back and forth...hit me up on my real number. I'll be free XyZ day...let's grab drinks (or whatever it may be)

Obviously you can vary these if you have her actual number already. Also, if you have their number, just call them. Assuming you have a good voice/conversation skills on the phone or leaving a message, that can give you big bonus points.

Getting the number is half the battle of course.

I had a lot of success if I waited a day after matching, then writing something to the effect of, "hey (her name) how are ya (or what up), just catching up on here, been busy. i'm more of a meet up/have awkward conversations kinda guy let's grab drinks sometime and talk shit."

A number of them flat out sent me their number on their reply message.

Mbare has some good ones. Saying you don't check Tinder much and texting is easier can work well.

To restart a conversation that's died out, I'll use: "are you shy"

It's very simple and usually gets a response, giving you a second chance to get the number or meetup.

"are you shy" is good.

Once I have their number, thanks to El Mech, "gimme ten min..." or "be there in ten min..." has worked well for me as a restart text.

At the most some small talk or light banter, then exit the conversation and push for the meet-up. Maybe others like to keep texting back and forth, but I honestly don't have the patience for it. Yeah, I'm with you. I'm not into long back and forth texting for days and days on end. My strategy is build just enough comfort(through humor and playful texts) to get her to send me her real number and know she won't flake out on a date. But not so much that you get stuck in texting purgatory. The amount of texting I had with the girl I mentioned above could fit into a small paragraph(last night). I sent her another message a few hours ago seeing how she's doing. Radio silence.

This happens a lot on here it seems. If I was actually saying something that legitimately creeped them out, I'd understand. But you can't even have just a normal conversation with these before they go radio silence. It's like if you don't blow their fucking doors off with every message, they lose interest. Even though they don't have the slightest interesting thing to say themselves.

That means she isn't used to chatting online, which is good, as you can say : "online chatting is all well, but I like to know someone face to face, call me oldschool" and invite them for drinks/meeting up/your place as you wish.

I have this theory tinder favors newcomers. I travel a lot and when I arrive I always open the app, wait a few hours and for sure the first 10-20 girls that appear will match. Often good looking ones too (remember, tinder KNOWS if a girl is pretty, as those will have a lot of matches) because as a newcomer they want to present you with high quality instead of the whales and -5's.

So by changing your sex it might have "resetted" your profile - this you get treated the same as someone new.

When your new to tinder im pretty sure you're pushed to the top of the list of potential matches for the girls and as you have tinder for longer you get pushed down the list meaning in theory you get more matches when you first join. The trick is when you have no leads is to delete then start it up again.

OK, now I'm convinced Tinder is selling placements to whorecam sites or something. I keep getting these matches from over 90 miles away when my range is set to 10. Plus they instantly message after you swipe right.

Oh and if you delete your Tinder account to start over you'll need to wait several hours or a day before signing back up. Their system doesn't erase you immediately.

Just make a new FB account. They don't verify for friends anymore. I actually have 3 fake Tinder accounts. I'm running a fake GPS app to test what kind of response I get in different cities around the world.


To everyone, I came across an interesting blog post where a guy found a Tinder trick that caused his number of matches to explode. I haven't tried it myself.
