Sadly, in most cases this means the girl is an attention whore and not really DTF.

I find that the less I text girls initially, the better the results.

Whether the number is from Tinder or the bar, it seems that the less my initial investment the better the returns. You can't force a girl to like you via text, but you can make her not like you by being try-hard. Best to act kind of like how a bitch would act if you were texting her. Its obviously the best if she contacts you first, but you can work to quickly flip the script if you open.

Tinder exchange
Her:You went to (x college)?
Me: You got me

Her:I went to (x college)!
Me: Prove it

Her: umm idk how to. I lived in (x dorm). I was only there freshman year then I transferred to (x college).
Me: why would you do something like that

Her: I'm from blah blah originally but then my family moved to blah blah and I wanted to be closer to them
Me: I guess thats reasonable. what are you up to now

Another Tinder girl
Me: This winter really makes me want to move back south.
Her: Yeah all this snow is brutal. Are you from down south?

Me: nah I went to school down there
Her: where at?

Me: x College
Her:Awesome. So you got to enjoy the nice southern weather for a while and then back to this lol

Me:haha yeah, its a cruel joke
her: for sure.. I bought a new bathing suit today and its super depressing thinking about waiting for summer

Me: Don't wait, Tankinis can double as lingerie.
Her: I could, but what would I do with all my real lingerie??

So basically give short answers and don't ask much about them, especially in the beginning. Try to get them to invest by leading the interaction. Even when you send the first message, quickly move to short disinterested replies for 4 or 5 messages. Then maybe ask 1 or 2 questions, say they seem normal enough and that you should move to text.

Damn I might have to join this thing. My phone doesn't let me download it though says I need to upgrade. I don't want to upgrade.

Out here in Spain, there's a lot of decent lookers on here. Unfortunately, most seem to be attention seekers or shy to give their number out, and I know revealing personal information out here seems a bit of a risk to most. A lot of them don't even want to give their Facebook information out until they get to know you more - and this is after meeting them socially!

I've had a few girls off here initiate a conversation, seem really interested (white god status because I'm English) and then when it comes to handing out their info: nada.

My mate in London who is model material says it's hit and miss with Tinder, and I'd expected him to be raking the girls in. Apparently not.

This is a good strategy, but the biggest hurdle is finding girls even willing to put forth effort. The girl in the example above is putting forth way more effort than what's normal on Tinder. Most of them have very little to say then go radio silence once it seems like too much effort. If a girl hits you up first then you know she's motivated and it's much easier to have a fun back and forth.

That awkward moment when a girl with whom you had a mini-relationship that inexplicably turned sour pops on Tinder.

Otherwise, this thing is way over my head. Too many matches for me to focus on just one means my text game is not on point. It lacks that "edge" that makes it just a wee bit more interesting than the other dweebs.

I also have to resist the urge to go in there and just swipe through girls. The supply seems endless. In my area more than 60,000 people have signed up. I am going to have to really get picky and just focus on a few prospects. It doens't seem like you HAVE to contact them as soon as the mmatch is made. If your pic is ok, you can always approach later.

Does anyone have a feel for how long after you "right-swipe" a person do you show up in their "feed" as an option?
ElJefe 路 2014-02-25 21:17:00 路 #908
Oh, and I just did an experiment.

1) I got perhaps 60-80 matches in the first 2 days of serious swiping. Almost all girls responded to any initial text. Basil is on the money. You can't restart the convo if it's been allowed to die out.

2) Now, I am getting zero matches. I liked 30 different random girls in a row, incl. uglies, still zero matches.

What happens, I think, is that as a new guy you get thrown to the front of their matching algorithms. This accounts for the disproportional female interest. As each hot girl herself is liked by all men, she is virtually bombarded and probably swipes fewer males than vice versa. This means that as you are on tinder for longer, you go to the back of the queue.

The solution is therefore to jumpstart accounts if things go dull.

Well, all I knew so far is that when you swipe right, you're going to be towards the front of a girl's queue. That's why when you get on Tinder all the matches come right away. Your next post has me questioning that though.

Do you think it's a better option to just keep deleting/remaking accounts or to just go on it once or twice a week?

It was definitely atypical, but a welcome change of pace. Maybe 1 in 20 matches will put forth the effort to even say "hey" first. and most of them are fat.

For some reason my match rate and the cuteness of the girls has started to go up significantly over the last couple weeks. The three months prior were pretty much dead. I've had the app for about a year with the same pictures and tagline too. Strange.

I'm within a mile of a pretty big school so it might have something to do with their academic calendar. Or maybe the winter is just making girls stir-crazy.

Either way I've decided I should definitely put some effort into some better pictures. The OK results i've had with my random profile pictures makes me think I could do pretty well with some more carefully staged ones.

Most of the guys on there have very weak text game as well as game in general.

Yes I definitely agree that deleting your account and restarting is a great way to jumpstart your matches. Works even better if you use different pix

Only if one of you resetted your profile i'd guess.

I've developed two rules of thumb for Tinder that are paying off for me recently.

By my third typed reply (usually starting basic introduction stuff) I work in an:
"and you can go creep my facebook (*my name on FB*) you know you want to anyways. Add me."

My FB photos all advertise my activities, physique, etc... she sees I'm a real person who does things, not some serial killer. Plus, when she adds, she's established interest, we're "friends" now, and I can see her pictures.

And by my sixth reply I will have ended a message with :
"And text me your reply (*phone number*), I never remember to check tinder."

This puts ball in her court and forces her to show her hand (interest level wise) by making her text me first.
If I get no reply or an "I don't give out my number that easy", no love lost, I only had to type six messages... that's low investment.

I've done both of these on the last 4 matches I've messaged with. 3 numbers and 1 date so far. All 3 numbers waited one day to text me, pondering on showing their hand I'd assume, then caved.

Oh, and in response to that marshmallow with toothpick arms, always check their pictures for collarbones. Skinny girls own collarbones and most fat girls don't.

Also made out with a 8, but didn't bang (yet) - will meet her again soon.

This is going well.

I have only been back in town two days so could only start searching last night.

I got messaging this very cute blonde. Turns out her soon to be ex is a pretty famous local hokey player (NHL/National team).

Should have a date set up for later today, shes cooking me some stuff at hers.

Lets see how this goes haha.

Ill update later...

I'm getting A LOT of "love" so far on this app, and I've only been on for 6 days.

Prologue: I'm not a big fan of online dating, as I'm a bit old school, I prefer to be out there during the day or bars/clubs. Tried it once in Europe, for a month on a Russian and Eastern European dating. Had zero luck with that, but did quite well "on-the-ground" which shaped my negative attitude towards online stuff. Thought I'd check out the Tinder hype though after seeing this thread a lot. I'm 31 and used my real facebook....I've been getting hits from 20 to 36 year olds, but mainly 24 to 30.

Here's my breakdown:
I don't always swipe right. It doesn't take that much time to look at the first photo and swipe left or right. If we match, and I made a first picture/impression mistake then I check out her other photos and block accordingly.

Still got loads of matches, and the benefit of that is that USUALLY off that initial photo they are of decent quality. (Have had a few bots/girls trying to hustle, but they're easy to pick out.)

The first day I was getting matches I went in very strong-too strong probably. Scared the cat.

Did land a date after toning it down with a very cute black chick the 2nd day I had it, she met up the next day and gave me a BJ when we got back to my place. I used my own variation of Tuths first date bang method.

To tone it down, I used goofy openers such as "What's your stance on high fives" or "How do you feeling about Curling as a sport" Then went from there. Problem was, I think I was messaging too soon after the Match.

I changed up my script on other matches that I hadn't messaged yet and this where the fun is going to come into play, so get your notes ready.

First: I waited 1 or 2 days to message them after the match.
Second: I messaged them "hey (insert name) how are ya (or what up)...just catching up on here. im more of a meet up/have awkward conversations kinda guy Wink not much for chatting online which i find boring. u should hit me up and we'll grab drinks sometime. for me next week will be better...lmk"

I could just shorten it to "hit me up and we'll grab drinks sometime..."

At any rate, this has worked well. Keep in mind I swiped a ton of girls the first 2 days on this app. Had about 84 matches since then. 17 have given me strong messages back they they felt the same way and would like to meet up next week, 4 of those giving their number without me even asking.

Another plus besides having good photos (obviously), is also something funny catching in the profile. Mine has garnered a few comments. "Spontaneous, witty, tattoos, vodka shots, medical, traveled half the world, italy. Also if you're JUST on here to hook up...well it's "$1 to look at it, $2 to touch it, $3 watch me touch it, $5 touch it while I touch my toes, $6 touch it while I touch your toes, $10 for a BJ, $12 for an HJ, $15 for a ZJ...and if you have to ask what a ZJ is you can't afford it."

I put the Beerfest movie quote in there, because I noticed on a lot of girls profiles, they wrote "Not on here to hook up!!." Or "Swipe left if on here to hook up!." Fucking funny women...spin hamster spin Big Grin

After the girls respond to the initial opener (VERY IMPORTANT to insert their name, and don't capitalize), then wait another day or two. Say "cool hit you up in these days..." or "cool, send me your number, i don't get on tender that much and i'll hit u up in these days"

Remember, take the little time/effort to insert their name or otherwise their hamster brains will assume you copied and pasted (which you are).

I think saying you're busy this week, and that "next week will be better" is KEY.
