Part of the issue is that her fame isn't really based on anything. Actual artists, who sell a product, have to be more concerned about image, while someone like KK got famous more because of who she's related to (Robert Kardashian), who she was friends with (Paris Hilton), and for a sex tape with another semi-famous person. The entertainment press likes trainwreck types, and people that are into pop culture/gossip/reality tv LOVES this type of person.

A few years ago Spike Lee blasted Tyler Perry for his movies and called them "Coonery and buffoonery." I think maybe Spike is just hating on Tyler. Spike needs to listen to more rap/hip-hop because Kanye West is the embodiment of coonery and buffoonery. I thought that the first time I heard one of his songs. Her 15 minutes was up a long time ago, so she gets pregnant to stay in the spotlight. Kanye is an established performer and probably has a few hits left in him, I personally saw him perform with Jay Z and must say it was a great show.

Actually, someone posted a clip or Ellen DeGeneres blowing Taylor Swift up on her show because of the dudes she'd been through. She's still everyone's darling. Through it all he's managed to hold onto a wholesome image. Granted, there haven't been any sex tapes or nude pics that were hacked from her phone.

It also depends on how you got famous, and what you do for a living. Kim GOT famous on some dubious shit, so there's nothing she can really do to hurt herself short of committing a felony of some sort. For singers and actors, their personal lives can affect their professional lives, so the standard is different based on that. Look at what happened to the Dixie Chicks. They made a throwaway comment about George Bush on stage at a concert, and fans and country radio stations CRUSHED them. Stations refused to play their music. Concert ticket sales on their tours basically shut down - they had to cancel some shows because of it. The Chicks worked TIRELESSLY for the country genre - appearing on radio shows, helping them make money. They helped promote other acts. But they didn't hesitate to turn on them in a second. If some Kim-style nastiness became public on Swift, it would hurt her with her audience. Not so much because she's white, but because her brand is built on NOT sucking dick on tape, or sexting nude shots of herself to her boyfriend of the moment.

If Kanye wanted a lil' Kanye walking around, then it was a good move on his part.

Knocking up KK not only boosts his status and keeps him in the limelight (just look at Kris Humphries, he was a nobody backup NBA player before KK), it stacks his wallet as well.
