What do you think is most important? Some people go through their entire lives riding off their "potential" instead of materializing it into actual offspring. The only other thing you can do is contribute to the well being of the species or just indulge yourself in hedonism. We are defined my our legacy at some point in our lives. For men this comes later than women but it does come.

Interesting question,I want to have kids but the planet heats up to beyond life-support capacity when the Sun expands in ? 500 million years? Everything changes, so the idea you really carry on through kids is only true on certain levels.
