Well, but David Coverdale's standards for women surely dropped with age, any young pussy now is good for him Biggrin

Kudos for him though, still (hard) rocking in his late sixties, what a legend.

Still wondering if that is a hunter's duck caller being used in the song (4:13).

For my RVF bro' Debeguiled:

Oh the warm feeling
As we sat beside the sea
Oh the warm feeling as I sat by you
Like a child within the kingdom
As we sat beside the sea
Oh the warm feeling as I sat by you
And it filled with devotion
And it made me plainly see
And it healed all my emotions
As I sat by you
As we sat inside the sunshine
And we sat beside the sea
Oh the warm feeling, as I sat by you
And it filled me with religion
And it gave great comfort to me
Oh the warm feeling as I sat by you
Oh the warm feeling as we sat beside the sea
Oh the warm feeling as I sat by you.

I got totally lost in that world of egotistical maniacs. Coverdale is about as egotistical as it gets.

I like this one:

Cozy Powell in fine form:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cozy_Powell

He would die a little later in a car crash. He lived fast and died young.

He liked motorbikes but that isn't what killed him. He might have been pissed up as well.

Look at my flesh and bone
Now, look, look, look, look,
Look at his tower of stone
I see a rainbow rising
Look there, on the horizon
And I'm coming home, I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Time is standing still
He gave back my will
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Going home
I'm going home
My eyes are bleeding
And my heart is leaving here
But it's not home
But it's not home
Ooh
Take me back
He gave me back my will
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Going home
I'm going home

This song is a masterpiece. By anyone's metric. Blackmore created something great with Rainbow. Deep Purple were stagnating. It breathed oxygen in to the aquarium, the fish bowl that was Purple.

It's epic.

My eyes are bleeding
And my heart is leaving here

Such overblown and dramatic lyrics. But they work.

I see a Rainbow rising!

One of the advantages, or disadvantages of coming in via a VPN, is getting served random shit that youtube thinks is from your country of origin:

Soy boy hip hop.

Trying so hard to be ironic, that they break through the shell.

Well done.

Not sure if German or not.

Whatevs, they put a lot of effort in to this.

It's worth a watch.

Listened to some high-T classic soundtracks earlier this afternoon out in the country:

Great remix of Schiffrin's Bullit OST, it's just an extended version, check out the brass at 2:10:

This was my favourite song of FF years ago and it still is, despite it been rather underplayed and hidden.

The wealthiest musician in the world is Andrew Lloyd Webber. The second is Paul McCartney. The third is Jay Z.

The fourth is this guy. Ahead of Diddy, Dion, Dre at 850 million.

This is a good mashup, Van Halen and the Jackson 5, the break and solo starting at 1:34 is fun.

A truly great, shit band.

From Wikipedia: "Reportedly, during the recording sessions the band would occasionally stop playing, claiming one of them had made a mistake and that they needed to start over, leaving the sound engineers to wonder how the girls could tell when a mistake had been made."

RE: What are you listening to?
Love John Martyn.

https://www.johnmartyn.com/sleeve-notes/...tyn-story/

Although he has recorded for a variety of other labels, John Martyn is one of last great undiscovered gems in Island Records back catalogue. His gravel rough, sugar sweet vocal delivery, expressive guitar playing and the folk jazz ambience of the majority of his work make him ripe for reappraisal. His run of albums between 1971 and 1980 can all be deemed masterpieces.

Born lain David McGeachy on 11 September 1948 in New Malden, Surrey, but growing up mainly in Scotland,

Chris Blackwell of Bob Marley fame picked him out and signed him to the label.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Blackwell

It wasn't just Grace Jones.

John Martyn was a big six footer who was never comfortable with himself. He pioneered some techniques, like that whole echoplex delay thing going back in to itself again. He did it first and he did it with an acoustic guitar, so he gets kudos for that.

But he was a bruiser. Beating up some of his fans at the bar (so the story goes - don't know if it's true). A very delicate man. Not able to take criticism. Of any kind.

He was a serious drinker. He had to have half of his leg chopped off because of his 'indulgence'. He wasn't kind to those around him, yet they still loved him deeply. There's a documentary about him if you want to know more.

He hung out with Phil Collins when he was having his divorce.

Great voice, great guitarist, great songwriter.

Flawed human being?

Not for me to say...

This is one of my most cherished things by him:

If you are ever stretching, and need some kind of pussy magnet, dig John Martyn out of the draw. He's got it all.

Grace and Danger.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_and_Danger

He was a great man. A wise man.

But he was a prick as well.

Some men don't care what other men think of them.

They are too busy fighting their own demons.

Wonderful music.

Gonna get on up and fly away
Go on out for another way
And a new day's dawn
Going to carry on

Keep on loving while your love is strong
Keep on loving 'til your love is gone away

Gonna get on up and fly away
Go on after another way and a new day has dawned
Gonna carry on

In the small hours...

When you face that dark night of the soul...

And you are reaching out...

Even if you find friends...

Some things are beyond words...

Just take solace in the fact that you are not alone...

And be brave in the face of the fact that you are very much alone...

Utterly alone.

It's ok.

Few men make it back from this side of the lines.

But those that do...

Sometimes fly kites.

Silly me.

Frank Zappa:

“Information is not knowledge.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
Wisdom is not truth.
Truth is not beauty.
Beauty is not love.
Love is not music.
Music is THE BEST.”
