RE: G Manifesto and this forum
As soon as I came onto the forum I wrote GManifesto off pretty quickly--it actually surprised me to see that he was taken seriously by people around here.

GManifesto basically wants to stir up as much envy and adulation as possible on the internet for himself. That much is obvious.

But the narcissists I know in real life who are, like GManifesto, obsessed with self-promotion and convincing others that they are living an awesome life use every measure to do so---they "sign into" expensive restaurants on Facebook, they instagram their exotic locales, they take pictures of hot women they're dating.

GManifesto doesn't do any of that, but based on how self-aggrandizing and narcissistic he is, it's obvious he would if he could.

He doesn't, so he can't.

Ergo, he's not living any of it. He's only narcissistic to the point that no one in reality can check in on him. It's all fantasy.

He's a keyboard jockey.

I guess, for starters, I'm surprised with this sudden you-need-to-be-vetted-in-person requirement that seems to be getting louder, but coming from a vocal minority on the forum. This seems to me problematic, and to be a slippery slope.

Secondly, to paraphrase MikeCF, I'm not here to white-knight for G--since he can handle himself. My interest is the well-being of the forum, which I value. That said, I'd like to give some general ideas about the situation and hope that it contributes to the conversation in a productive way.

G is a complex figure, like him or not. I see G as an eccentric, simply told. Frankly, this community is packed with eccentrics--myself included--though of different varieties. With "eccentric," I mean in the sense that we: think, do, and talk differently than 98 percent of the dudes out there. At his best, what G brings to the table is personality and creativity. (I have to take a moment to add that, while I think "data" is valuable, being a guy who contributes to the life blood and character of this community is also important.) That G is the originator of a lot of the terms and memes of this forum should say something. I'm not one of the members who originally came to this forum for its travel features, though I'm periodically active in that area (I came for the game and lifestyle discussions with like-minded guys), so I have to take the word of others to judge many of his "data" contributions. So add to everything above that he has dropped--even by the most conservative, uncharitable estimates above--at least some valuable travel data, and you realize his value as a member.

That doesn't mean you have to agree with G, like who he "is," and what he "does." What's more, I recognize he has been at the center of some forum division of late.

There are several guys on here with what I see as unpleasant, weird socio-political views that I don't agree with. Even guys I really like periodically say unsavory shit sometimes that, in my opinion, discredits us all. There are guys here who from time to time drop little semi-racist statements, diminish our views by going overboard on some point, or go on semi-delusional, tin-foil-hat, hard right-wing sermons that I couldn't disagree with more. Most of the time, I don't care, but sometimes I get irritated by just how out-there their stuff can be. You could see this, for instance, leading up to the election, but also before, and in other contexts. That said, I know these members bring value--one way or another--and, within certain standards of reason, I understand that you sometimes have to deal with eccentricities and weirdness from guys who excel at some skills (in this case, above-average social intelligence). There is a certain amount of open-mindedness, so to speak, I have to have with a not-tiny subset of members. It's not that I dislike them, it's that they're different-ass people. That is one of the beauties of this place--the diversity. I only expect the same goes in my direction. I say shit people don't like--I don't doubt that--but people know, in aggregate, I'm on their team and share other of their views.

Ideally, I'd like to see the sides come together here to prevent a situation where the forum loses another long-standing, first-generation member. But, needless to say, the poisonous cloud coalescing around this issue is untenable. I'd like to see G tone down his recent posture and set aside some of his resentment, and get back to the old, forum character and contributor we know and appreciate. He doesn't need to further confront or call out his haters; he can level with the forum, say his piece in a productive way, while maintaining his privacy (which is his prerogative), and reinvigorate the affection he obviously has here. I think he can continue to be G without slap-downs and call-outs.

At the same time, of course, that necessitates some of the guys who have been taking cheap shots at him to cut it out as well. This thread has provided a place for a healthy, and probably necessary, airing of grievances. I think if G makes an overture, guys need to be prepared to reciprocate and extend a set of courtesies that gets passed around here more than you probably realize--the benefit of the doubt or, absent that, respectful disregard of each other.

Needless to say, the object here is to stomp the escalating call outs, dueling post reports, and jabs that have been going on. I hope we can iron this one out like level-headed men and smooth out this latest episode of forum drama.

He doesn't seem to eccentric to me, maybe a little into the whole "G" (gangsta 1990's) thing. That said, if he's got wisdom for the ages, let's hear it.

RE: G Manifesto and this forum
I gotta admit that I just don't see any problems with G Manifesto. Sometimes he's hard to understand or I can't relate to his opinion, but I've never found him to be rude or even disturbing to anyone. This is a surprise. Am I blind or something?

Speaking of which, the idea that (unofficially) all forum members have to be vetted and vouched for by others who have met them sounds very unappealing. Why is it not enough to simply write things that make sense and write them in a civilized way to be respected? If someone was talking shit or being abusive, I'd hate him no matter whether he was real or fake.

That said, I've never found any reason to fight anyone or ignore anyone's posts. This is the first time that I'm even hearing about the option. It simply doesn't happen in this place. Aren't we all supposed to get along splendidly, united in our love of game and dislike of feminism?

Still he shouldn't be banned, but rather just called out whenever necessary, as happens with most other members.

That basically sums up my opinion of G. He has dropped some gems on fashion advice, data, cooking, drinks and anything related to being a bon vivant. He does a helluva lot of bragging, but if you aren't on his bad side, it's more funny/clever than offensive. It really doesn't even matter to me if he's exaggerating. I still think it's pretty entertaining.

I'm guessing Roosh would be able to check his IP and see if he's really in the places he says he's posting from.

because it does work.

Anyway I personally believe this have come about because of the elections, politics divides men like sports teams but in a more aggressive fashion. Divisions are more visible, people get more easily worked up as they preach their ideology and shout down the opposing view. Politics discussions always inevitably lead to slanging matches just like sports discussions.

For example, I can have a logical discussion about football/soccer with a Manchester United fan (I'm a Liverpool fan) and be all cordial and respectful but my underlying emotion just wants to me to say "your team are a bunch of cunts and your fans are fucking wools" and if in this discussion I keep hitting a brick wall eventually I will reach that point to blurt that out.

Politics does the same but on a higher plane due to the nature of it and how it affects each individual. You place a higher value on who will win an election than on your sports team. Your sports team losing won't affect you directly (unless gambling) but your belief is that if Romney/Obama loses you will be fucked (because their policies do directly affect you). Of course this sort of thinking led to the slanging that developed in the election thread, G being prominent amongst those on the democrat side and Brian on the republican side. Ideally in an election you would want all of the forum to be on one side of the coin - red pill thinking vs blue pill candidate, but ideal is not reality and neither candidate suited what essentially every man should strive for wanting in a western modern civilisation.

Roosh has a hard task moderating this forum to avoid splits, we're all here for facts, data, travel, game info, advice and opinions (even if you don't agree). I can understand where posters like Mike are coming from but I can also see Ali's view too. I think the best decision has been made, truth is as much you'd all want to be nice to each other constantly, the way of men, especially men in the manosphere world will be a world of constant competition as that's what strives each to improve and become better and more respected.

i still don't get that part. why would someone argue online over different beliefs or experiences of other poster. it's pointless. different people from different countries with different cultures. forum is for sharing stuff, not proving who's right or wrong. if someone post weird shit, brag, bitch or get all flashy and shit just smirk. ignore it. or make a comment "yeah maybe but my experience says something different" or "that's kind of off topic" and forget it.

i was laughing hard when one guy started rep points drama, i was like "bitching about online reputation points indicator? really dude? how old is he, 10" ?? then some guys added their hard earned rep points to their signature hahahah hilarious

Simply put, G is a huge asset to this forum. The posts by him are some of the most interesting ones to read and he brings quite a bit of value. People tend to call him out and he responds in kind.

The only reason I ever found this forum was from his blog (in which he links to Roosh in almost every post).

Bad decision if you ask me.

I appreciate the feedback from everyone. While the forum isn't 100% democratic, I like to think I'm reasonable. Hopefully everyone can continue sharing data/stories without butting heads.
